Sadly... this actually jumps to the top of my list of what he will announce.
I want arrest for sure. But something it telling me that Trump isn't going to arrest anyone. He is too much of a media/promoter type.

You're 100% right. Trump can't seem to get out of his way ("DeSantimonious") - so what happens if he forms a party and joins it? He's the MAGA nomination, and DeSantis clinches a republican nomination - and then what?

I am 100% in support of a new party that distinguishes itself from the current red or blue flavor of the uniparty, HOWEVER, the crimes of the past and the corruption in our election system must be rectified first. A new party doesn't stand a chance until we have an even playing field again.
A three-party system will fix nothing. The other two will simply gang up on the one.
And, the media has already set up MAGA republicans as fringe nut cases. So we're going to create our own exclusive club? That'll show 'em.

Unfortunately, there's going to be die heart old time Republicans, who don't truly understand what's going on, except that the Democrats are not who they want to vote for. There's some who think that Trump has just hurt the party and want to get back to the 'old republican ways'. I think dividing the Republican party from a different party directed by Trump is not going to help us....but actually hurt us. Just going to divide the group and allow the Democrats to win the next election by a landslide.
So I hope that's not the 'breaking news' that Trump's going to announce. Because at this time, we just don't have enough Republicans understanding what kind of battle that we're in.
Trump is creating a schism based on personality and not on policy. He is not a conservative - he is a populist. Many people do not vote FOR him,,,,he gets votes because they are AGAINST the Dems. The Dems were able (abetted by of the media/tech/business conglomerate) to make the election about social issues. Running on solid conservative principles of smaller and less intrusive government, shrinking the deficit, a more restrained foreign policy, strong protection for American jobs for American citizens would be a different campaign all together. Creating a new party will be tantamount to surrendering any hope of rejecting the Dems as the Pied Piper leading the children out of town.

A new party? Holy shite. Talk about making republicans a minority party for the next forever. So much of politics from local to the presidency is about counting party beans. We're seeing a giant clusterf**k with the House leadership right now and we are actually ONE PARTY! If this is what's going to happen I have to wonder if this is intentional suicide.

Hope Trump is reading this thread. This would be a big misstep and it would guarantee the D’s control our way of life for decades.

It can't live up to the hype.
I can't rule out that Trump could make some sort of "Storm" announcement/ reference, but if it's a simple announcement to run in '24, or float SOTH, that's not hype-worthy (though SOTH would make heads explode and I'm here for it).
I think a new party announcement would have to come after AZ and the Georgia runoff election. And the ONLY way a new party works is if DeSantis comes along. I know some of you will hate that suggestion, but he and some of the provably Anti-swamp GOP would have to come over to break away from the McWing of the GOP and bring enough normie voters with them. And of course, this assumes that DeSantis isn't some sort of NuSwamp, which I don't think is the case.
