My mom was an incredibly kind, brilliant and gifted psychologist (Freudian) and she had no idea who EB was and when I told her the gist of his work and his connection to Freud, she went into an almost Pavlovian state of defense and denial…about something and someone she knew literally nothing about moments earlier. That was a dark moment for me, as it really solidified this sinister notion of mass mind control, which we had been discussing.
