Nodopa was charged with with aggravated battery with great bodily harm. An arrest report says he is homeless, and only has a Mexican ID with no known ties to Tampa.“
I see your very good point but still, it’s been my observation that many people walk, run, whatever in the wild while completely distracted looking at phones, lost in tunes etc. People need to wake up and be a lot more aware and have a plan. Don’t assume it’s never going to happen in “nice” neighborhoods.
And parking lots- get your keys ready (if needed) before you even leave the store or bldg. Secure your purse next to body and packages in one hand so you have the other free, walk with purpose, eyes open, get off your phone, haul ass, secure your stuff quickly while keeping your head up observing the area. Super pet peeve of mine. Sit and watch how distracted people are at the next opp. It will blow your mind.
no, it's actually about the same. try applying for a job with a manslaughter on your record, including "justified" or "defensive". also, every time you get stopped by police they are going to see your history on their vehicle display, and approach you with hand on weapon, ready for a violent encounter. not to mention retribution from family or whatever criminal organization the deceased was associated with.
Yeah you’re right that people’s situational awareness needs improvement. Looking down at phones is pretty annoying to me too. I guess I was a little personally miffed because I go running in public parks or tracks about every other day and almost always listen to ear buds, but I maintain awareness. One night I was running a 10k around the track of my high school, with my car in the stadium’s parking lot. I saw a group of four punks stroll through the parking lot. While I was at the far end of the track, one of them looked in my windows and then tried the door handle. Without pausing my run tracker ap or music, I changed to an intercept course and sprinted off the track right at them and closed the 200 meter distance in short time. As I got closer I shouted something about messing with my car and they just about shit themselves as they ran away to the 55 mph highway. They made a car with right of way slam on the brakes to avoid hitting them as they desperately crossed. I almost felt bad about that, but it was pretty pathetic for four of them to run away from me after I sprinted 200 m after I was already about five miles deep into my 6.22 mile run.
A little but even more annoying than parking lot punks are the commie stalkers who come onto the track supposedly to mall-walk but really just to mess with you. AC’s advice is to play dumb so the ear buds fit the bill
This may come as a shock to you, but Vermont has long been polluted by lefties, who fled the mess they made of their own states and have now come to Vermont to do the same.
It's my favorite state, and I long cherished the dream of retiring there. But it's become Hippie Haven.
Good question. I guess we need to trust the plan at this point and be patient that the illegals will be deported like Trump just reiterated and that the woke lenience of crime will be denounced as the uncivilized sabotage that it is. Then you’ll be safe in warm parts of the country, too.
Hesitancy has become the normal in situations where it can kill you BECAUSE liberals in authority who arrest and destroy anyone fighting back against crime.
If the white hats are letting criminals cross the border as their precipice, then they would be directly responsible for every American assaulted or killed by said criminals, and they would be no better than the DS.
I expect that the white hats are more sensible than that.
These people are criminally insane...and how many more are walking our streets? With the unfettered influx of illegal immigrants we have no idea who is lurking...time to join a local gym if you want to stay safe while jogging or walking...how sad we are no longer safe on our streets...
In our community people were breaking into the cars at the parks while the people enjoyed the park...also cars driving down the street were shot at...these things would never have happened years ago...what has changed?
It's safer to be with others. People try to kidnap women or even high school kids alone. Students need to go in multiples even walking to high school.
Don't wear a running bra or short shorts while running.
Try to jog when it's light outside and people are about. Avoid early in the morning or pm hours when it's dark.
Try not to run in areas that are desolate or contain places where you can be pulled into, i.e. dark alleys, parks with large shrubs, etc.
An open-carry knife can be an option. Look at the laws for your location. Even if the length is up to 2 inches, it's better than nothing. Also helps to have pepper spray, a stun gun, etc.
Whether walking, jogging, shopping pay attention to your surroundings. That means stay off your cell phone and take out your ear buds, for your safety.
Today I was driving home form a garden center in my neighborhood. I saw a young man with ear buds in start to cross the street ( a moderately busy street). I slowed down as he stepped into the opposing lane, only then did he look up after he was in the street! I motioned for him to cross and he went to the mailbox. Not only do pedestrians need to be attentive, but also drivers!
Several things stick out. Lack of situational awareness on her part. Failure of mental health services to serve patients, thereby protecting society. A lawyer with a gun who got a concussion because in that moment all he could think of was the Marine from the subway being arrested and he hesitated. He’s a hero, but his kind are why we have the justice system we do now. And FINALLY…don’t we all wish the lady in the car had been armed?
Terrible, but unbelievably rare. With this many people unfortunately we can expect the predictable outliers to make news and we can expect "news" to sensationalize an event and attempt to capture clicks over it. Then we can expect the outlier and/or the event, to become politicized. And voila, we've generated energy potential stored as outrage.
I haven't run up against any resistance whatsoever. I see a lot of people with an interest in trying to convince me I'm in danger or being persecuted and that I'm actually not just watching a movie. On one hand were encouraged to panic and fear and on the other we have nothing to fear but fear itself.
Maybe once my family or myself are persecuted or once I feel like I can't defend myself I'll become a victim. I'm just there yet and that's just not the world I live in. Midwest. America. Pretty dope.
What NobodyLikesSplatter is suggesting, I believe, is to have situational awareness. Always be aware of your environment/surroundings. Always watch your six. In the Infantry we had a saying, "Stay alert, stay alive". The Airforce expression is, "Have your head on a swivel". Constantly try to be aware of anything that looks/feels out of place, or makes your "spidey senses" go off. Pay attention to your gut instincts, they are quite often correct. We live in an increasingly dangerous society. Nobody ever thinks that they will get struck by lightening........until they do. Nobody thinks they will be the victim of a rape/burglary/robbery/murder/mugging/home invasion....until they are. The majority of crime victims make the following statement, "They/he came out of nowhere". The criminal doesn't "come out of nowhere", most people just don't pay attention to their surroundings, because they don't expect to ever be a victim. The following article is relatively informative
Well, I’d say if you’re a woman, group of women or anyone by themselves walking from a store, mall, gym, parking lot, office, gas/convenience store, rest stop, walking or jogging, hiking..etc yeah- be on guard. Always. Guys as well but it’s not quite as much of a threat. It seems like common sense not to be looking at your phone while walking anywhere, not to be deaf to the surroundings by having music blasting in your ears. Be free but be aware.
The problem isn’t ear buds, bud.

Carry a weapon. Train to use it. When attacked, attack the attacker!
I don't get why the attorney who had a gun didn't just shoot this fucker when he turned on him. How did he manage to get knocked down?
Because he knows what happens when you use your right to defend yourself in a communist shit.
She was out for a run. No one goes for a run packing heat.
Yeah we do. I’ve got a gun just for this. It’s my cheapest gun too. You can get a .380 for under $300 easy.
Waistband running belt, 380, keys and ID.
If you think no one does, you’re wrong and if people think it’s impractical, it’s not and city runners are going to need to learn to adapt.
what about the legal fees when you actually have to use it? .>.300$US, guaranteed.
Legal fees are better than being dead or severely injured.

Fortunately it is Florida and her area supports stand your ground pretty well. But if you need attorney it would pay to have coverage.

That was intense!

a concealed carry holder had the perpetrator in his sights, didn't pull the trigger, and got beaten up as well.
Hesitancy has become the normal in situations where it can kill you BECAUSE liberals in authority who arrest and destroy anyone fighting back against crime.
Prepare:
weapon
shovel and bags of lime in the garage
pre-dug hole somewhere private
then don't pull a gun!
Miyamoto Musashi: “Think only of the cut.”
Probably would be put in prison if he did put the animal down.
I think Florida has a stand your ground law. Either pull the trigger or keep it in your pocket!
Attorney is lucky he and his son and the woman didn’t get shot. If you’re going to draw, shoot the motherfucker
I thought that was a rule - don't point your gun unless you are willing to use it.
You shouldn’t draw unless lethal force is already justified.
If it wasn’t and you drew, you need the discipline to overcome the fear that made you draw and then correct the situation.
As with any situation, it always depends so be careful about any one size fits all defense policies.
great point
Trump said in his interview with Brannon that other countries are emptying their prisons and insane asylums into our southern border.
Precipice?
Q?
Really? White hats? I’d prefer a nuclear blast (location of my choosing) as the scare event.
If the white hats are letting criminals cross the border as their precipice, then they would be directly responsible for every American assaulted or killed by said criminals, and they would be no better than the DS.

Washington DC. Would solve a lot of problems and save the courts money.
He was a very scary looking person.
Beating, killing and maiming people - part of the wakeup by design? I don’t like it but how is it different from the forced jabs?
These people are criminally insane...and how many more are walking our streets? With the unfettered influx of illegal immigrants we have no idea who is lurking...time to join a local gym if you want to stay safe while jogging or walking...how sad we are no longer safe on our streets...

MANY THINGS...so sad...
They probably offer a bonus to invaders if they beat the shit out of a citizen
I have no doubt
If your not carrying a firearm, your part of the problem. Do your part to help clean our streets.
EVEN THOUGH ALL OF THIS SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM:
Note to self, never pull a gun unless you plan on pulling the trigger! The guy is lucky the nutjob didn't grab his gun and kill all of them!

the incident rate is beyond Colin Flaherty levels.

These people had a gun and didn’t use it? The woman in the car didn’t run the guy over? Fucking idiots
Beelzebub? WTF https://unicourt.com/case/fl-ora-in-the-matter-of-nodopa-esja-beelzebub-1654203
I'm sorry, but when one is beating the crap out of someone, they would be wailing...not whaling.
Rather an egregious editorial faux pas.
Just sayin'...
Makes it a questionable story imo.
that's enough whaling lass, yee made yer point.
Oh but Mexicans are such hard workers!
He looks like he's Indian.
Your right. But it says he has Mexican ID. Must've just went to Mexico and walked up
Joggers

She relaxed. She got the diversity she voted for.

No.
Trending, as is ridiculous persecution of any whitey who dares defend him/herself. To put us on our heals and push the agenda.

Not rare. Often ends in murder.

So you're saying never relax?
