I notice that she doesn't mention black women doing violence. Some recent airport videos would suggest otherwise. Mass education on why violence is not a stable policy for a nation is needed but how to do that. Prayers for merciful intervention of sanity. Prayers for the safety of human beings in South Africa.

Although the professor succinctly tried to intellectualize the problem, and point to sociological failures, the crux of the matter is really biological. By making it sound as if the problem is a recent one, with recent influences, the professor ignores the fact that native Africans built nothing more than essentially mud or thatched huts, and never advanced themselves over thousands of years. Recently I read a very interesting study of violent tendencies (and irrationality) by race, that found that the overweighting of violence in blacks was not due to testosterone, but an imbalance and/or overproduction of estrogen. Unfortunately, I did not save the link, and can't find it now. The study even went so far as to suggest that blacks represented a separate species.

While I understand this message was written by a South African referring to South Africa, this exact same speech could easily be delivered in the US, the Caribbean, Brazil, or Europe and it would still be equally true.

It is culture that drives behavior and behavior that determines success. There's a reason why you can look back through history at German migrants anywhere in the world and find they were radically successful: Australia, Russia, Latin America, the US. Why? Because they brought with them a culture of extreme discipline and dedication to work. It didn't matter the pursuit either: farming, manufacturing, engineering, but even the arts. Look at how prolific German classical composers were, even as Europe preferred the aesthetics of Italian or French languages, you still know a half dozen operas by Mozart, Wagner, or Holst the instant you hear them.

Black people simply never developed that culture. As slaves, you could simply forgive that. No one's going to work any harder than required to avoid the whip as a slave, but even in Africa where they held power, they never developed an authentic drive for any of that since so many of their tribes were either hunter-gatherers or subsistence farmers. Flash in the pan empires never seemed to build a cultural drive parallel to what Europe achieved, even despite the stability of Ethiopia or the extreme wealth of Mali.

And because of that, still today, black people who seek desperately to define a unique identity for themselves in which they can take pride and rally behind, they see those characteristics as "acting white." The academics call it "whiteness" and teach them to hate it and to define themselves by the rejection of it. Activists excoriate successful black people with all manner of racial epithets for "acting white." Clarence Thomas gets called an Uncle Tom. Ben Carson gets called an Oreo (black on the outside, white on the inside). We could come up with an extensive list, but the point is that black people don't value success when other black people achieve it. Instead of copying those behaviors, they resent them!

The result is Zimbabwe, South Africa, Rwanda, Baltimore, the south side of Chicago, South-Central LA, and countless other predominately black disaster areas. And it'll continue until the black people decide amongst themselves to change their own culture and adopt the behaviors that lead to success.

Excellent analysis. It goes even deeper than race, however. There is a considerable tribal prejudice that enters the picture. My wife is Zambian, Zambia is starved for capital, and many Zambians have gone to South Africa to find work. They are willing to work, where the native South African blacks are not. And as a result, they progress and prosper...to the irritation and envy of the SA blacks, who are now including Zambians and other black "foreigners" in their Circle of Hate, as "taking away jobs that are ours." Well, the jobs would have been yours if you had hired up and worked at them, but the professor shows why this is not the case.

Somebody in another comment demurred from the hatred being self-hatred. "How can that be?" is the thought. But when you have an ALL-CONSUMING hatred, you lose all grip on reality, and do the things that also consume your own life (destroy surroundings, infrastructure, markets, and society). It is similar to the self-destruction of addiction, but people destroy themselves BECAUSE THEY WANT TO. This is psychological reality, and we don't make any progress in the matter if we don't recognize it.

Feels like what black lives matter should have been all about. Forgiveness and moving forward is no doubt better than holding onto the past. Never forget history, but it is meant to be learned from, not to be used to fuel hatred in current times

The SA black people will learn that they are being used in a marxist agenda. They will learn that this agenda means destruction of SA as they know it. Racism is now the preferred "struggle" of the left. It used to be classes. The rich boss vs the working class. But that doesn't work anymore. So now race is used to divide the people. The cabal is trying very hard to have the same situation in the US. Unfortunately, most SAs blacks have fallen for this (years in the making) and they are very much in the majority.

Until we as a nation say, “We are not subsidizing your lack of initiative any longer. You need to work, and work with dedication and persistence, realizing the food you eat, the place you live, the health care you have and the education your children have comes only as a result of your hands and your work,” nothing will change. Then we need to put into place, for those under 60, the education to develop the skills such as woodworking/cabinetry, roofing, appliance repair, electrical work, tree/arborist/pruning skills, etc. Maybe train so many individuals in a geographic area to be experts, who can then train the younger generation in the same skills. We have to stop with handouts, but also instill that hard work, reliability, honesty, dedication is what advances you and set skin color aside. Improve housing via the trained crafters to develop living conditions in all areas country wide. Then make it easier for those trained in skills to be more mobile and settle where their particular skills are needed. More emphasis on the practical and less on useless college and university courses. Only after you work so long in a trade, can you qualify to attend a college or university. Start people with a base income while in training and after a period of time, say two years, you are on your own. Teach people basics of budgeting, check books, etc. in their training period. Just a thought. Of course those who are truly disabled will be taken care of. Those with certain handicaps will be steered into a work program to accommodate their handicaps.

Its not self hate though. And its not caused by other races.

It is a willful disregard for social obedience. It is systemic only in the way that their social structure and hierarchy teaches that the more social disobedient you are, the better a person you are. This obviously isnt all blacks. But a very large portion of the black population. Not even all poor either.

Clearly some came from breeding with unknown hominids which leaves them with a single dimensional thought process. They only know what is right there in front of them, thinking of the future or the past is nearly impossible for them. That is why there are still people in Africa living as they did 2000 years ago.
