The entire "Republican" narrative is controlled opposition and it always has been. I know it's tough to hear, but the way it works is, both the left and the right get pieces of the truth. They are also then told, "the other sides is lying."
The narrative overlay of both sides pushes division, and pushes the pieces of truth that each sees. When anyone on "the right" goes to look at what "the left" are seeing, they don't focus on the truth part that are exemplified for the left, they focus on the narrative overlay and say "see, you are being brainwashed by this narrative overlay". The exact same thing happens when "the left" looks at anything from "the right."
The thing is, they are both correct. They are both seeing the truth (in scope). They are both being brainwashed by a narrative overlay. The "conservative" view is just as controlled as the "liberal" view. In truth, neither is what they pretend to be.
The "conservative" isn't trying to conserve anything, though some believe they are because they are taught a false history. In addition, because they are led around by the narrative and a false teaching of economics and history, no "conservative" actually understands what "capitalism" really is, yet they run around espousing it as the greatest freedom ever. A lie which couldn't be further from the truth.
Similarly, the "liberal" isn't trying to help anyone live "free", though they believe they are because they are focusing on specific human indignities (which are really happening), while ignoring the infringements of rights required to "make everyone free from the evils of capitalism", which is a real thing.
Everyone is fed different pieces of the truth, with a narrative overlay that is designed specifically to create division. Controlled Opposition. The Left and The Right were purpose built specifically to feed these two false narratives. They were designed to give everyone an "enemy" they can see, so that no one sees the real enemy behind them, pulling everyone's strings, hand feeding everyone predesigned beliefs.
