But there is plenty of reason if you simply ask people and yeah, even Reagan may have been compromised. I hope not. I always thought Ronny was just a B actor who was trying his best and was moved up the ladder by invisible parties behind the scenes. His 1st wife, Jane Wyman was a super cute, bubbly, successful actress. Certainly more popular and in-demand than he was. I read long ago that she said that all he did was talk politics and she couldn't stand it, so they divorced.
2nd wife Nancy swooped in and took control and used family money and influence and fundraising to propel him higher in politics.
Nancy was a bit-part actress who paid for many expensive glamour shots of herself to be released to the press. She couldn't rival wife #1's good looks, acting success or popularity.
#2 also had a long, prominent jaw, large head and narrow shoulders and seemed an odd pairing for him when there were so many other available beauties around.
