I'm in nyc and disgusted with the elections. I had on the ballot three proposals (asking for more money in different ways), 1 for a city council member and 4 judges and a district attorney. The 4 judges and district attorney had only democrats running. No republicans or other parties. You wonder how we get a crackpot judge and attorney general like Trump's trial? Probably ran unopposed. That's not an election. That's a coronation.
My intention is to retire in a few years and get the hell out of here. Most of my family has moved, which was why I was originally reluctant to move. Now the only reason is my excellent job/income that would be hard to replace at my age.
I hear ya but your housing taxes and/or rent and other expenses (car tax, gas, public transportation, etc). are eating into that very same salary. Once we left NY I never looked back.
When libs get proven wrong by world events, they become disillusioned with politics altogether and they stop participating. I've watched it happen to my young family members recently.
I know quite a few democrats that didn't participate in the 2020 election. Many of them both had no doubt Trump would win, but also didn't want to vote for Biden (or Trump). I think this "not participating" thing has been going on for a while.

Nothing is what it appears to be. I'd bet the real voter turn out in 2020 was closer to half of the "official" number. I'd also bet it's gone down since then. Who wins the 2024 election will have nothing to do with "voter participation." That idea hasn't meant a damn thing for a very long time.
Voting is nothing more than an illusion they keep going to make the normies think we still have a say. The election system is just as corrupt as congress is and the alphabet agencies. Until we go back to paper ballots and voting day only voting, the charade will continue and the all the dipshits that tell us to go out and vote harder are in on it, or are too stupid to realize that it doesn't matter, the fix is already in.
I think this shows an understanding of reality. If you are a Democrat why waste your time voting - you know your vote is meaningless - your side is going to win anyway by fraud.
