No, all sugars are carbs but not all carbs are sugars. I lowered my sugar intake but not the rest of my carbs and still losing fat every week for months now. Protein grows muscle but carbs are their preferred fuel, if I go below 100g/day my lifting performance suffers considerably.

Yep look at how those added flavors can easily sum up to a thousand calorie cup of coffee. Coffee is only low-cal if it's consumed black, even two tablespoons of creamer can easily add 100 cal, one of the reasons I switched to monkfruit extract and honey instead of sugar.
