Lord Jacob Rothschild, the financier and member of the Rothschild banking family, has died at the age of 87
His career began at the family bank, NM Rothschild & Sons, before starting his own wealth management fund. He was also known for his philanthropy.
He joined the family bank in 1963 but left in 1980 after falling out with his cousin Sir Evelyn de Rothschild.
He went on to build his own financial empire in the City of London, founding investment trust RIT Capital, which he chaired until 2019.
The Rothschild family has an estimated fortune of about £825m, according to last year's Sunday Times Rich List.
Lord Rothschild also held roles including deputy chairman at BSkyB Television, director of RHJ International, now known as BHF Kleinwort Benson Group, and was a member of the council for the Duchy of Cornwall for the then-Prince of Wales.
there was a story on the news in eastern iowa when I was a kid about a bunch of birds that got hammered on some berries (I think it was berries, though that doesn't sound quite right, berries typically grow on bushes or vines...0that were growing on a fruit tree of some sort and flew into a storefront, taking out the whole window (we're talking an entire flock of birds just crashed into the window)
Turns out the berries were out of season and had fermented, so the city basically had to wrap the tree in tarps to keep the birds away from them.

Have family in the midwest and I think it's a Hawthorne tree? The birds would flock to this tree, eat the berries and some would act like they were drunk. Doesn't happen all the time. I was in town a few years ago and had to cut most of it down after a storm.
