The original Hebrews were not jews. Moses wrote the first 5 books of the OT Bible ("Torah") around 1500 BC.

They believed the jewish rabbis and their Tradition of the Elders "laws" that violated "The Law" of the Hebrew OT. That's why it can be confusing in the Bible, when Jesus is talking to different groups. If you don't know who is who, then you won't/can't understand.

I think the point that was being made was Jesus wasn't "murdered" by anyone. He willingly gave his life for us, because not one of us can live a blameless life in the eyes of a just God. Without Jesus' sacrifice we would all be doomed to eternity in hell.
