In midcoast Maine, a pediatrician sees teenagers so dependent on cannabis that they consume it practically all day, every day — “a remarkably scary amount,” she said.
From Washington State to West Virginia, psychiatrists treat rising numbers of people whose use of the drug has brought on delusions, paranoia and other symptoms of psychosis.
And in the emergency departments of small community hospitals and large academic medical centers alike, physicians encounter patients with severe vomiting induced by the drug — a potentially devastating condition that once was rare but now, they say, is common. “Those patients look so sick,” said a doctor in Ohio, who described them “writhing around in pain.”
As marijuana legalization has accelerated across the country, doctors are contending with the effects of an explosion in the use of the drug and its intensity. A $33 billion industry has taken root, turning out an ever-expanding range of cannabis products so intoxicating they bear little resemblance to the marijuana available a generation ago. Tens of millions of Americans use the drug, for medical or recreational purposes — most of them without problems.
But with more people consuming more potent cannabis more often, a growing number, mostly chronic users, are enduring serious health consequences.
The accumulating harm is broader and more severe than previously reported. And gaps in state regulations, limited public health messaging and federal restraints on research have left many consumers, government officials and even medical practitioners in the dark about such outcomes.
Again and again, The New York Times found dangerous misconceptions.
Many users believe, for instance, that people cannot become addicted to cannabis. But millions do.

definitely safer and less addictive than alcohol.
Not really because it is stronger and genetically modified to be more powerful than the natural and 2) most of it is laced with other contaminants and drugs. Fentanyl cocaine etc. why do you think they are dumping metric TONS of drugs onto the Country? What did that one guy have in CA a ton of cocaine in his house? Possible link to PDiddy.
Its isn't GM, its is hybridised much like roses and other plants are.
Laced?....partied since 71...never seen that
Weed is laced with fentanyl? dafuq?
Sums up this enitre post. Just fucking lol.
Legalized pot is test for all of these and can not be sold if present. More of an argument for legalizing it.
It is no secret that it is easy to buy black market weed that has "enhancements" added.
Where did you hear this shit? There is no genetic modification and very very little herb is laced,
Pretty funny that some people are naive enough about street drugs to downvote your comment.
Both are poison to the soul.
Yeah, sorry I can't buy into that nonsense.....and I use neither. They are both natural for the most part.God gave them to us so how could they be poison? As a libertarian, all of it should be available. Is this the land of the free or the somewhat free...you know, we cant be trusted to do for ourselves so our govt has to restrict us. Nonsense again....
But you can say this about literal “kill a man dead” poisons, too.
If you want to get right down to it, man is all natural and he kills far better than poison. God also gave us a brain.
Alcohol killed my mother, I'll stick to my 420.
Alcohol is worse by far. I drink moderately now but when I first woke up I drank a lot cause I couldn’t handle it at such a young age.
I love a cold beer after working in the yard, after a good day of hunting, fishing or hiking or having some pints with friends.
But once you go beyond that it gets dark quickly though.
I don’t smoke much anymore but I do edibles. I like taking the 10mg’s and cutting them in half.
But cannabis and psychedelics helped me get past the depression and anger stage of my awakening in my early 20’s.
If you have a family history of addictive personalities you need to really learn about dopamine imbalance. It’s why I work out 4-5 days a week and take my cooking skills very seriously. I enjoy those and don’t feel the need to drink.
alcohol is a drug. It can be and is very damaging to ones life, family, friends, etc.
Sorry to hear, fren :( I used pot to quit my raging alcoholism for good. I feel like I still need help sleeping. Probably don't. Now I just enjoy pot for the fun of it 😉 Cured the alcoholism and also just measured in at 14.6% body fat at 57 years old. Down from being fairly heavy last year; ALL due to extreme daily amounts of alcohol intake ruining my metabolism. Alcohol ABUSE is the problem. No one does moderation very well, in spite of what they might say. However, one can't really abuse pot. Might get too high. Oh well, lay down. It will go away. Alcohol, on the other hand, can kill fairly easily. A fair comparison between the two can't be made.
Cannabis has helped me become a more loving person, more self aware, helped me through my awakening and has had so many other benefits in my life. My wife and I enjoy smoking and reading the bible together.
Throw in a cup of coffee with that..
That is so beautiful and cool. GOD made it for us to enjoy.
We used to call coffee, 'christian crank'. LOL
Still is.. LOL Holdin a cup now. Out here in these Great Awakening streets. Can you dig it Fam?
On my second cup right now!
Yea, yea... In my state they sell alcohol in every corner gas station and store and grocery. Both are easily abused
decades long daily 24/7 pot smoker. I used it to free myself from even more harmful drinking habits. But for years I lied to myself that I was a nicer person on weed. more peaceful, slept better and enjoyed food much more thoroughly. However I'm almost 1.5 years totally clean and I will say my life is infinitely better w/o the weed. I connect w/ friends and family on a much deeper level. I'm clear headed and present beyond what I've ever known and ultimately I'm not dependent on anything to have a good time.
Yeah, I also have leaned on weed because of being unhappy for other reasons. Now I find although I would like to quit, there are some negative side effects. I have tried a few times for some months but both times 1) I start gaining all kinds of weight. Pot somehow regulates my appetite so I only eat enough to maintain my natural weight. Same exact weight as on my early 20’s. The minute I stop, appetite increases and start getting fat. 2) sexual issues. I find my sex drive crashes and sex is way less enjoyable and performance issues start causing paranoia. With pot, everything works perfectly. And I’m in good shape. Work out six days a week. There is not much I can improve on the fitness side.
If I could figure out how to get around these issues I would quit. Going to give chlorine dioxide a try after I finish a parasite cleanup and see if that can reset things to factory default.
Prayer helped me stop smoking weed, I could not get through the day without it. One night I prayed to Christ and Jesus to help me quit and the next morning my cravings for it were gone.
I have not smoked since then, praise the Lord.
Yes, for sure that is a powerful tool, and I have prayed for direction in quitting without these negative side effects. It’s not cravings or withdrawal or anything that stops me. It’s the negative side effects. I can be pot free tomorrow if I like, but I will also end up fat and impotent lol. It’s not the improvement to my life I am hoping for. So I figure God needs me to help myself so he can help me. So I am eating properly, and working out, and trying to detox my body.
The reason I would like to quit is I just would like everything to work normally on its own. Just don’t like being dependent on something or significant decline in quality of life. Quitting doesn’t have any effect on my relationships with people, my personality, my motivation levels. Maybe I can think clearer, but that only makes a difference if I am being challenged by someone or they are being aggressive or hostile with me and it matters to me like someone important at work. Then my reaction is better, but not so much better that it creates any motivation for me to quit.
I'll say this only one time, as the "wacky weed" is a tool to me: MARIJUANA ISN'T FOR EVERYONE!!!
Some people are allergic to it.
I am. And now that it's legal in my state, I can't even drive across town to drop my kids off at their grandparents' without smelling it. Even though it's illegal to drive under the influence. And my in law's neighbor grows it in his basement and has exhaust vents that vent outside, so can't even go in their backyard without smelling it. Not to mention the other neighbors' kids always smoking it outside. And my neighbors smoking it outside. Can't go out back with my kids and let them swing on their swingset when our neighbors are smoking it. It's pretty terrible. Our goal is to move to the middle of nowhere, but work makes it somewhat unrealistic until we both find remote jobs.
Amen.
i've stopped smoking now... ...but i still don't trust anyone that can't handle weed. if weed makes you paranoid, it's because you are fundamentally unstable.
When it was illegal....you better be paranoid
The legalities truly don't matter.
It's society and the person. The person, like myself, who has the constant dissatisfaction with themselves and society, will always look to find that satisfaction from outside sources. The hardest decision is to look inward to ones self and allow God in. Even as I type that, I feel a pull away from the idea. It's bred into us to retract from the thought of giving up the vices and grabbing the one constant.
Anyway, now that I've ranted, what I find truly disgusting, though not surprising, is the upcharge on buying marijuana "legally".
That's the disgrace of it all. In Nj they went back and forth for over 10 years on legislation that should have been an easy call.
When good old Murphy finally got his 50% it got approved.
And everyone cheered as I performed the Patrick Stewart meme.
Ohio just went legal...store price 400 oz...street price 150....you can grow your own too
Even The Bible suggests with alcohol that moderation is expected...anything can be addictive to the right person. Too much of anything will lay you low. Everything is here for a reason even lowly the Marijuana plant.
Anything can be addictive indeed. Some people have an addictive psyche, weather it be weed, cigs, hard drugs, chew, alcohol, work, porn, sex, etc. Too much of anything leads to problems indeed. They will deny it however.
Chocolate, coffee, caffeine
Edit to add food, sugar, carbs
I once heard a man refer to drug (and many other societal problems) as a spiritual sickness.
There should be no place in the life of a minor child for recreational substances.
In the big picture cannabis is a rather benign symptom of that spiritual sickness, but if it takes root early enough, it can cause long lasting repercussions which can be difficult to overcome.
Mushrooms and DMT guide people to God. I have experienced it myself.
Good luck with that.
I wouldn’t make such a comment unless you have experienced them.
Why do you think the cabal has wanted these suppressed for so long?
You realize that the burning bush plant Alexandria Senna has psychoactive components?
I've seen the Dead over 200 times. Those substances can "guide" one many places.
Concerts aren't the proper place for spiritual journeys...alone in the woods
God said He gave us every seed bearing plant.
To EAT now to burn and suck into your lungs and affect your brain, and Dont believe the bull shit that the guy toking in the car next to you ain’t going to turn that key and drive away safely down the freeway. What’s the devils role? Trust me he has one. Are you willing to risk your kids, wife mom? Yeah, the reality vs the dream.
It doesn't say to eat. It says to use. If there is a god why would it want people to not use the most medicinal plant on the planet by far? Nothing is even close. It helps with countless different issues. You can get a lot of those medicinal effects by smoking by the way. Why are anti-Cannabis people always ignorant?
Eating can produce unpredictable results in some people. due to digestive system. Do what's right for you is best.
Eating it does not do anything at all. It has to be burnt to produce its effects.
Juicing buds half as big as your fist each morning and drinking that produces a condition that brings your whole system into harmony, its makes you amazingly balanced and harmonious. Each morning forever.
If that works for you, I rejoice in your harmonious life. My friend is a bakery goods consumer. He never is sure of when they take effect tho .He swears by them.
Frankincense and myrhh. Stoned drivers are probably safer than non-stoned.
someone that has only read material 20 years old-never actually smoked the herb
But a nut crazed with pills and liquor you'll accept. Mary Jane is for smart people. As the man said. it ain't for everyone. I'll stick with what God says not some big pharmaceutical rep.
I've read that as well.
But I wouldn't go so far as to imply that encourages 12 year olds to be doing dab rips.
This is an adult site Did you see anyone referring to Underage children.? Add to knowledge. Medicinal treatments could be developed to help children in smart society.
DUH !
In midcoast Maine, a pediatrician sees teenagers so dependent on cannabis that they consume it practically all day, every day — “a remarkably scary amount,” she said.
You stand corrected.
Didn't say anything incorrect. You have a problem with reading comprehension. You have never experienced Ms. Mary Jane tho... What's up with that? You aren't cool Robbie.
God gave us every seed bearing plant---and some of them are toxic. Marijuana is one.
I was a stoner for many years. Everyone’s biology is different and just because you or your friend are able to consume in moderation with no ill effects does not mean that is the same for others. Many people don’t have the ability to use in moderation and are stoned more often than not. Even if you’re only an evening toker, many people feel a hang over effect and don’t just return to sober by morning.
Weed can make people stop maturing. There is no meaningful self reflection while stoned that leads to growth, especially because emotions get stunted. These emotions must be processed and analyzed and they can’t if you’re chronically stoned. It makes you a pseudo philosopher where you think you’re enlighten and deep, but you’re not, I promise you.
It takes away motivation to pursue new meaningful things. You can get your work done and you can claim you’re still taking care of business and functioning, but then your evenings are trapped in front of a tv or video game while your social life dwindles. You stop reaching out to friends to set up a hangout or have a quick phone chat.
Again, weed affects people differently and for me, it’s not worth it. Stoner of many years who’s quit and started multiple times and have currently been sober for many years.
Weed can make people stop maturing.
Addiction (alcohol, weed, psyche meds, etc) promotes arrested development which prevents deep awareness and promotes self deception. I've witnessed it all my life.
im evidence that this is false.
Take it from a guy with much pot experience amongst other drugs, get high on Life, and you will never regret it! Yes, Pot will lead to other drugs believe me I know!
Of course that is not true. Pot leads hard drug users away from other drugs believe me i know!
get high on life
I call it "wholesome endeavor" in service to the WHOLE.
The satisfaction we seek is found there.
"Many users believe, for instance, that people cannot become addicted to cannabis. But millions do."
Sounds like someone has met my brother-in-law.
Anyone who needs either alcohol or marijuana to have a good time, is in need of help.
If weed has not been modified, then why does it now smell like a skunk farted? It never used to smell like that?
It was called skunk in the UK when the stronger strains came around.
We have had a war on drugs for 53 years now. What there doing doesnt work whether intentionally or through incompetence. Weed is no worse than alcohol. The government only cares about tax income. Its the reason you cant distill alcohol at home or now grow weed plants in some States. Having it monitored and bringing in tax revenue is not a bad thing. The users are going to get it either way.
They been chasing me since Nixon declared war in 72....they have taken people's freedoms fortunes...govt has no moral right to profit from weed sales now that they are broke
They have no moral right to tax anything but they do. Until people are so sick of it and are ready to throw tea into the harbor again it will unfortunately continue.
Sad thing is the lack of awareness. People who are pro pot will never consider that its really bad for some depending on the persin in question. Yeah, lots of people have done just fine for years being high. Yeah, there are lots of positive uses for it. But its a fact that for some it takes over their life. It ruins their life. It feeds into the self destruction of some. Cannot ignore that or the people it happens to.
People ruin their own lives. Its called choices. Or do you also believe guns kill people?
Heck the same could be said for legos.
Sad thing is the lack of awareness. People who are pro legos will never consider that its really bad for some depending on the persin in question. Yeah, lots of people have done just fine for years being builders. Yeah, there are lots of positive uses for it. But its a fact that for some it takes over their life. It ruins their life. It feeds into the self destruction of some. Cannot ignore that or the people it happens to.
lol yep... early childhood Lego usage completely ruined my chances at a lifelong engineering career.
And its a fact that Lego addicts leaving their shit on the ground have caused more foot related injuries then heroin.
BAN LEGOS NOW AMIRITE!?
Your right..i know a grown man that spends thousands on his Lego addiction. Slippery slope to model airplanes.
Thats the exwct attitude I expect. Amazing how the pro pot crowd proves to be anything but chill when you point out its obvious flaws. But in a way your right. And now lefalizing that makes it easier for those who will have it wreck their lives to get ahold of and use. And morons pushi g the "its totally fine" line enforces the idea its totally safe. So are people really able to make a choice when they are being lied to by a bunch of people on one side who just want it to be legal for their own use and the other side a bunch of people who want them to be high and be a life long consumer. There isnt a place where legalizing drugs has worked out. It fails every time
Of course none of that is true. 🙄 Sorry for talking directly to you. I didnt realize you was a snowflake, normally thats a libral trait. You can go to tiktok if you want people to talk sweet to you, honey.
Same w booze..not everyone becomes an alcoholic
I know more than one person SERIOUSLY brain damaged from pot. It's not harmless, far from it.
The government legalized it because they want you stoned and compliant.
Lol...yeah ok bud. Show me where the government has legalized weed. They rescheduled it from a schedule 1 to schedule 3 drug if I'm not mistaken but I'd sure love to see you provide me with info on Marijuana being legalized by the government.
States where it is recreationally or medically legal, THE PEOPLE voted to make it that way. But it is most certainly still an illegal substance according to the federal government.
You better go look at things again. The federal government made it illegal because of its medicinal properties and because the hemp plant single handedly would have put the timber industry out of business.
Anything can be dangerous if not consumed responsibly.
Canada. Fully, 100% legal. https://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/cj-jp/cannabis/
Haha canada...that's the beginning and end of the discussion. I don't live in Canada nor do I care about what laws they have there. I live in the United States of America.
Marijuana has the same effect, no matter what side of the border you're on.
I hang in these streets never seen anyone lose their mind from Mary.. pill people do that...
Pot is a psycoActive drug
Destroys eligibility, Our special forces and high aciver operatives have an ever decreasing pool of talent to work with. Having teens, high and useless Destroys their worth and potential. It's like shooting every other candidate for special operations. Weakens America to its knees. BTW, women have their worth and we need them but they just are not built to endure. The men are genetically designed to be 20% stronger. But back to point. The innocent drug use is destroying our foundations.
get lost.... there is zero case of anyone dying from marijuana. These 'doctors' need to go watch the film 'Reefer Madness'
Full stop. so tired of reading stupidity for 4+ years.
Well sorry piss off the proponents but it fucking stinks and I’m sick of smelling it. Eat a damn edible. Also I’m tired if the disbelieving look on my patients face when I tell them this is why they are vomiting all the time. It’s making people dumber. I was behind a guy in traffic the other day who was so stoned he stopped at a green light.
What the heck are you talking about? Weed doesnt make you vomit all the time. You have clearly never even tried it.
You can diagnose someone in a car just by looking at them? Should start a drive through doctor service or something.
Weed absolutely causes cyclic vomiting syndrome. In people who use it heavily daily. Also when I can smell it billowing out of a car and the car is weaving all over and staying indefinitely at stop signs and green lights, I think Occam’s razor applies.
Drunk driving people smoke too. That is what you witnessed. Ex cancer patient here and extremely heavy user. I use way more than a heavy user due to having cancer previously. Never vomited, I have a technical career in aquatic farming and zero traffic violations. Sorry to disappoint.
Why don’t you get rid of the plants and eat carnivore instead? Plants can cause cancer - yeah so t believe the vegans. See Dr Shawn Baker Dr Ken Berry Dr April Salidino Zero Carb Life. Why? No plant toxins. You inhale yours directly into the lungs body can’t get rid of it. Taxes your liver lungs heart.
Yep those are words. Good job
Why would I be disappointed. You know what. You’re right. That guy could have been drunk too. But I interview 20 some things all the time that tell me they smoke marijuana but don’t drink. I have no reason to disbelieve them if they are willing to tell me about the marijuana use. Certainly not everyone has the same experience and I’m sure many never have vomiting- but many tell me they have started having stomach pain and vomiting and can’t figure it out. It’s well documented that this is a thing. But people who use get their perspective warped by wanting to defend it absolutely. Lots of people do fine with alcohol. Lots of people don’t. Why is it crazy to think the same can be true of marijuana?
Bit strange that you dont know its a very rare condition, and that its actually called 'Cannabis Hyperemesis Syndrome' (Not "Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome").
Only took me 5 minutes on yandex, but it still feels like I should charge you an exorbitant amount for this education.
And I have never ever heard of anyone that vomits when smoking weed (not even after the munchies stage) so yes its extremely rare.
That's a lot of what ifs and speculation. If you cant think of a reason why you can't just take 20 something year old at their word then you need to stay clear of younger people. Ive worked with many in that age, they frequently exaggerate or leave out painful or incriminating portions of truth, because they still feel like they have something to prove to the world. Dont believe me, tell one someone said something about them, they won't give up until they find out who and prove them wrong about whatever was said. Most don't even understand thier own bodies yet. They consume copious amounts of artifical ingredients, media, bioengineered foods, sugar and havent even heard of fasting. Lots of reasons for tummy aches.
I use weed "heavily". Since 71...graduated high school graduated college professionally employed...never once threw up from weed
My daughter's friend gets that. She always thinks it's going to 'go away', so she'll try smoking again. But she's right back to vomiting again.
I like it though. Like everything else, we're all so different, I guess.
lol ok doc.
If you replaced "weed" with 'alcohol' then your totally not biased diagnosis might start to make some sense.
wow.. you really mean that thing.
Big pharma, big alcohol, big tobacco, big medicine ALL agree Food is addictive, so is the internet ,etc Govt regulation is the answer?🙄
My only comment is to the three authors of this article. How much cannabis did you consume to come up with these hypothetical findings? If you have never used or consumed on a daily basis then your findings are unqualified and specious.
IF the Government and the Cabal say it is bad for you...That means it is good for you.
The government and cabal are promoting the new weed (SOMA)
Exactly. That says a lot.
What’s your mother say? It can be therapeutic in the right dose but like all medications it can be abused by lazy worthless kids hiding in their basements or at stop lights on a pizza run…their parents paid for.
It has little to do with it being legal. In fact, it is because it has been illegal. In an effort to avoid detection, illegal growers opted for smaller, stronger product. Marijuanna barely resembles it's natural state. It has become a much more mind altering narcotic. Like making cocaine of coca while it is still on the plant.
Landrace strains are still available.. columbian gold Thai weed Laotian weed
Pretty sure hash has been around for thousands of years. I recall an anecdote about hash found in a Carthaginian shipwreck; it was still potent.
I believe that that is also part of the increased addiction among youth, and others too. Easy access to freakishly strong weed combined with things such as dabs, vape, pure oil etc. All more of a narcotic effect. Hash, back when, was relatively hard to come by. Even for most regular users. It was more of an occasional use.
There is no addiction with Cannabis. Don't be ridiculous.
Ya, OK. "I can quit any time I want. I just choose to smoke all day every day because I want to. I read that it isn't addictive, so I'm fine."
Disregard if I am I just missing sarcasm in text.
No, no, you don't understand. You can smoke every day of your life but if you suddenly don't have any you are fine. No addiction whatsoever. People who are addicted to drugs are all kinds of fucked up if they don't get their fix.
Again, I really can't tell if you are being sarcastic, or if you just don't understand addiction. If it's the latter, I recommend that you sit a spell and chat with someone who has lost everything, children included, to gambling addiction. When they run out of everything they ever worked for, there is no physical withdrawal. So, that doesn't count, right?
You are actually trying to say compulsive gambling is the same thing as a drug addiction? How moronic.
Weed smokers don't behave like that so your point sucks major dong.
Sounds like more fear porn. Most of these claims are false. And what does this have to do with Q? Or the great awakening? Spreading more propaganda.
AWAKENING to crutches, distractions, anesthetics, impediments, discernment deficits, deceptions, denial.
This article is so much fud. Do people have bad reactions? Yes. Do people get addicted? Yes.
Is that a reason to ban the shit? No.
This is the war on drugs shit on repeat.
everything in moderation. there was a point in my life where i would have a "cart", or like a "dabpen", or whatever you want to call it, basically just concentrates in a vape. but i would just literally hit that shit when i woke up until i went to bed, even sometimes when i woke up in the middle of the night, i would hit it a couple times.
blew through tons of $ on it, and all it left me with was an urge to keep hitting it but at the same time the inablility to actually "get high".
regular bud wouldnt do anything at all, just make me smell like i just smoked it.
i finnnnalllly, for financial reasons and the fact that i was fed up with myself and tired of that shit, took a couple months off. i dont get concentrates or carts anymore, unless im traveling.
normal flower and edibles are 100% the way to go.
treat it with responsiblity and it will treat you well in return.
ever since i have switched from that to the greens i havent actually felt the urge to just smoke and smoke and smoke and have the need to get high all the time. its like an occasional treat.
with that said, its not for everyone, and this is from a recreational standpoint, not a medical one.
edit to add on:
the carts and vapes made it way too easy to just do it wherever and whenever and i think that that was the actuall catalyst
One of the guys I went to high school in the 70’s got a full boat ride to pre-med at Rutgers. He had to drop out after the first semester as he was totally baked all the time. Ended up as a Social Worker. Last time I saw him he looked like Tommy Chong.
Some people can handle it, others can’t. 69 years old and I’m not about to find out which one I am.
Reverend Jim on Taxi
Marijuana is BAD for you states Uncle Sam, But it’s ok for alcohol without manufacturing ingredients on the bottles to be sold and that it’s perfectly permitted by the Government. Here courtesy of USA Government have a glass of fluoridate water.
The weed of "back in the day" is kindergarten version pot compared to what is being grown today. There are many enhancements with the growing and experimenting with cross-pollinations etc. Many chems used by growers are being used illegally to the point of pollution of local water sources. Big Money, baby! Also people are using the highly concentrated resin forms of bud now. The uninitiated have to use some caution. The panic attacks brought on in some users are nothing to laugh about.
This thread is here because of Big Pot PR Firm X.
Big Pot overbuilt their grow operations massively. Literal billions poured into the grow operations and concomitant legal changes to convince the masses to turn their psyches over to a consumer product. (If it were otherwise, those legal changes would have focused on letting people grow their own.)
There's no way to sustain the bubble/expansion. They are slated to crash.
So now they have to try to convince people that if you're not stoned 24/7 there's something wrong, bad, square, etc., about you. Yeah, whatever. They've been trying to turn God into a consumer product my entire life. Whatever.
When it comes to weed, addiction is habitual only. Marijuana doesn't contain the right chemicals to get your body physically addicted. No, it doesn't.
I've been smoking weed since I was 19 and I've gone days and days, many, many times, without a puff and I felt the same as if I puffed an hour previous.
You don't know anyone that 'overdosed' on weed. You don't know anyone that smoked a joint and went on a killing spree. You don't know anyone who sold everything they owned for weed.
No, you don't.
If you've never entered the weed world, or only smoked a few times, you have zero clue what you're talking about.
There is no Constitutional authority to outlaw any drug.
One word says it all: drug.
Fyi, the vomiting thing is 100% true. I know a guy who wakes up in the morning and gags and hurls like a demon out of hell. I believe it is the sheer amount of tar that sticky icky lines your lungs with. It goes all the way to the esophagus and hits that gag reflex as you try to hawk that tar lugie.
