What is funny to me is that they call 70 Million degrees C cool fusion. It is just cooler than using temperature to overcome the positive electrostatic force resisting the fusion. I think they have a decent chance.
They are using princples discovered by the likes of Tesla and Einstein. The physics was always there (the US govt figured it out while doing thermo-nuc tests) but the material science was not.
They also needed to figure out how to charge us for it, because fusion energy based systems will get rid of the need for oil and everything else.

Unfortunately, people have been taught incorrectly about the nature of our universe, so they miss (or disregard) the most important thing when it comes to fusion - zero point energy. Fusion can easily reach over-unity if it can tap into that, which TAE has figured out through their tests (although, they may have had assistance from our DoE Q-Clearance friends - who knows!).
