TBH, I'll be surprised if the SAA actually passes because it's like asking wolves to guard the henhouse since it's a good first step to ending many congressmen's tenures.
Also, it may be a trap that was not intended to pass -- it doesn't go far enough to fix election processes, AND, if it doesn't pass, it'll expose those who are anti-The People and those who likely rely on rigged elections to be in office.

I always wonder now if there is some sort of kayfabe or intrigue involved when a purple rhino changes it's position to face down ass up like this. I think it is just the power of Trump's negotiating skill. He wouldn't sign anything until the Save America Act is on his desk. He wouldn't endorse until either Cornyn agreed or didn't. He had him over a barrel.
The subtext here is that Texans might pick Paxton anyway if he (Paxton) declines to drop out as we all know Trump would pick him without the political coercion.

Some would argue we've had one for over a decade... but this is a 2 person runoff election.... November is their next chance to "split" the vote like that.

While enmeshed in Game Theory it often feels like losing (see above). Sometimes you have to "lose" (short-term) to "win" (drive desired outcome).
With the rumor about Cornyn having to have the CONgress sexual assault fund pay out on behalf of him in the past (rumor it was a male) he may be gone anyway. That is of course if the list comes out - OR - if the guy comes forward.

They need to go back to the old way of the filibuster. I'm assuming that's what Cornyn's referring to when he mentioned the "talking" filibuster as a possible option.
I believe this is all a much longer play by the Dems to get the filibuster and any possible future iterations of it removed before November. I'm not convinced the SAVE Act would completely remove any chances of cheating on [their] part. It isn't just about illegals voting illegally. If we don't do more to ensure Smartmantic and Dominion software/hardware isn't used in any election anywhere in the U.S., it will hardly matter what the Legislature does to stop illegal's from voting. The Republicans aren't looking at this in the right context, and the closer we get to November, the harder it will be to find a suitable replacement of the Dominion/Smartmantic problem.
It makes sense to me that Schumer, et al. may be working a bait and switch type game here. Bait the Repubs into thinking this is only about illegals voting by using the filibuster, keep them off balance through rhetoric and grandstanding, and wait until the Repubs give them what they really want: filibuster removal. Then, switch it all up on them after they retake the House and Senate this Nov and kill everything related to Trump's policies.
We still haven't seen too much in the way of evidence that a large majority of The People will accept re: vote fraud. As a result, there's still too many States, Counties, etc that are, as of right now still going to be using Smartmantic/Dominion crap. The SAVE Act doesnt address anything in relation to actual vote fraud, machine manipulation, software algorithmic vote counting, etc. Without addressing the usage of those two systems in this country, we'll just end up with another season of vote fraud.
If that happens, the Dems will assuredly retake both Chambers and kill anything Trump and The People want done. They would then most likely retake the White House in '28, and that'll be all she wrote for the U.S.A as we currently know and love.
I'm trying to delineate between the Repubs and Dems here, but it's clear to me that its the uni-Party that's behind this. It also leads me to believe that it most likely won't matter if the filibuster is removed, or the SAVE Act passes or not. As long as Dominion and Smartmantic are used anywhere in a solidly Left held State or in a "purple" State, it won't matter which Republican you vote for. That person won't make it in to office.

The fact a sitting Republican Senator from TEXAS needs to have his seat through re-election threatened to force him to vote for voter ID/citizens only should be enough to have Trump stab him in the back after getting his vote and endorse Paxton anyways would be cherry on top.

Parental approval shouldnt be an option. Hard stance. Your can let your child pretend to be a boy or girl but your not doing gender reassignment on a child period.
I agree. Gender reassignment is child abuse. But right now there is no law preventing it at all, and this law criminalizes the horror story of transitioning a kid from under a parent's nose, spiriting them away under color of law, which is a pretty horrible thing. So I'm happy to criminalize that right now, even if I have to wait for the total ban.
