Typically, no (from my experience with CONUS NG convoys). Our protocol was one vehicle transported our firearms with armed guards & everyone else rode unarmed. YMMV this was for drill weekends & stuff when we went to the range at a different base.

WRONG. I was in the army stationed at fort bliss until 2015. Armed convoys are a NO GO. I would have been court martialed if my battalion commander found out I stopped my unit fully armed at a truck stop. This is such a secret mission that the wife of natty guardsman doesn’t know shit.

I may be new here to the group, but I am also a Veteran that has lived close to a Air National Guard base and I can promise you, that In the 7 years I've lived here, I have not heard as much activity from the base on a Saturday much less a Sunday than I have heard this past weekend. I saw a video of lots of troops in D.C., and this was after the gate was put up at the Capitol recently. They were walking around and on every corner. Someone took it as they were driving down the road. My husband also saw it too.
He’s a 20+ years active duty officer. We’re in TX at FT. Hood. He hasn’t heard anything but typically, even if he did, he can’t tell me. I know because I served too. They are not supposed to disclose that type of information.

I have lived near bases a long time, I don’t remember seeing ground troops and armored trucks moving to random areas. Was at a Trump rally yesterday. An older couple told me their son, an army reservist, was just activated. They said he didn't give them specifics but it was "for Trump." Something is happening.

I was stationed at Ft.Drum for 4 years with 1st Brigade Combat Team and I can tell you that this isn't very common to fly from Drum to Texas to do training. All, if not most training can be done on your stationed post or at the 2 places I talked about in another post.
I won't give base names cause of opsec. All I'm saying is I only trained at 1 of 2 places at a time depending on the current mission set.

Active duty uses MATV's or MRAPS. 10th Mountain were the first Combat Unit to receive them from Oshkosh. We still have the humvees and Strykers, I just never personally used them in training or overseas.
Yeah, the MP's don't round up reservists, unless they have broken some kind of law.
Also, we have plenty of active military people. We are not gearing up to fight a major land war. Arresting traitors and putting down the occasional riot should not require calling up the reserves in the first place.

There were reports weeks ago of Marines and Strykers being shipped into Nellis AFB in Nevada, if they were there, they have to be else where as well.
