This statement is impossible to prove one way or the other. Everyone is different. Some will have few symptoms. Some will die. There is no possible way at this point in time to know how any single person will react to COVID-19.
Therefore it is impossible to state with any amount of truth or certainty that it will lessen the severity of the symptoms.

Then when I went to my check up and some nurse was peddling me the flu shot and the way she said it was kind of like...”just checking”. And when I told her my story she was like “you know it could have been worse”.

No, not going to close my account because it's my only communication with family all around the world. And I agree that most aren't real friends. Heck even a couple of family felt the need to tell me they were unfriending me. I just grin and move on because at this point I really don't care.

The most important thing that was revealed through both the fraudulent election and the covid debacle was who I will be able to count on when shit hits the fan. Virtual connections are fake. It sucks but it’s true. Hard delete the account and make some calls to your friends to actually talk. You’ll be surprised who might actually reach out and call you. You might be more surprised which “friends” never reach out.

All the people from back when it started that were my "friends", guess how many of them I talk to still? People think they have friends, they have acquaintances, people they know. Very few of us have actual friends. I don't have any sad as that sounds. I have a few acquaintances though.

I did probably seven years ago after six months on Farcebook. It was easy and I never looked back. All it took was figuring out who created it, what it was created for, and Who runs it.
