Keep your chin up, if you live your life seeing things the way you do now, you will be someone's role model. Also, none of us is spared from having a Karen or two in the family.
Yeah, I hope you can. Actively seek them out. Nowadays and thanks to the internet, we have access to so many more people than folks did a couple of generations ago
They probably do some things well. Take them for what they are. It sounds like they’re good people, just a little high strung and too trusting of media/government.
It certainly did for me. My parents are deep state apparatchiks. My entire upbringing was a gaslighting process. If it wasn't for my only uncle talking endlessly about MKUltra after Vietnam, things may not have clicked for me. He killed himself and I had to pick up the mess. And that's when the pieces started coming together.
Sorry fren. A lot of people got the short end. It stinks, but at least you KNOW it. You have enough objectivity to realize the situation. You'll do well.
Right but people in this community wouldn't cut me any slack if I went around telling people to mask up and get jabbed. If I became a parent myself though, then maybe I'd get some slack. Some people should not be parents IMO (read: MOST people should not be parents.)
Pray for them to one day wake up. There is always hope! I bet, 17 years from now you all will laugh thinking back on the incredible events we live through now!
While whites are typically less inclined to adhere to groupthink, they are more vulnerable to being emotionally manipulated, especially when given decades of Media promoting naive idealism. Asians are vice versa.
It's fascinating to me how 99.99999% of people on .win or any sort of forum like this are probably white. Hence why throughout my life, I would've never fit in with the sort of people who use this website. Gone my whole life surrounded by the sheep.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's always seemed to me like white people are some of the only people in this world who have common sense. Not the libtards, mind you (the ones who you say are vulnerable to emotional manipulation) but even THEY seem to have more.. practical intelligence and critical thinking ability than immigrants. Btw it's so liberating to have a place to say that where I won't be called racist.
EDIT: Just realized, blacks and hispanics are probably pragmatic as well, so I guess ignore what I said.
Common sense is not tied to skin color. There are plenty of patriots of all skin colors, backgrounds, ethnicities, ages, both sexes, etc on GAW and other dot-win sites, in the US and across the world. Common sense is more tied to one’s upbringing, natural-born curiosity and willingness to delve into understanding why we do or do not behave in certain ways (versus blindly following the sheep). My opinion is that much of the poor behavior we see in those around us is due to fear - and much of that fear has been deliberately instilled in them.
That said, common sense, as the saying goes, seems to be not so common at times.
From my understanding, most societal problems could be resolved, prevented from escalating, and/or prevent reoccurrence; if people just ask WHY?
Why is such a powerful question, that unfortunately (in my experiences) has been "shunned" from being asked. For me, I think it could be brought all the way back to kids; when they're hitting the age of uncontrollable curiosity - they ask "why" to absolutely everything. Parents get tired of answering the questions (I don't blame them) but it comse down to how a parent tries to it shut down. If it's shut down too harsh; it will forever curb that desire to know why things happen.
I think what you've said about the innate curiosity of children is important to remember and if I have kids I sure hope to avoid stifling that nature, even if I may get a bit tired of answering questions.
I'm not a parent, would like to be in the future, but I think its important learn parenting skills as much as possible. After all, most people are just "winging it."
Curiosity is such a powerful force to grow, I hope we're gonna have generation that's all about it. The things we could achieve with that driving force, would be a sight to behold.
Before I read to the end of the comments, I just knew in my heart it was Melania. We think 45 had a hard time, but imagine what Melania suffered. Never once did she ever lower herself to their level. Not once. God Bless her Lord and keep her safe.
For my experience, immigrants have a set way of thinking that can be a benefit, like values of hard work /staying out of trouble/doing well at school. But it can backfire in mass psychosis totalitarian situations like this.
The "4-6%" that Q talked about are most likely the Princeton professors with more degrees than a thermometer.
For my experience, immigrants have a set way of thinking that can be a benefit, like values of hard work /staying out of trouble/doing well at school. But it can backfire in mass psychosis totalitarian situations like this.
My parents are immigrants too. They forced us to get the jabs too :/. Funny how they can accept conspiracies from their governments back in their home country, but not in the one they currently reside in -_-
No matter, I have faith in God that this all will be exposed, that I and my family will be healed, and that we'll move past this
I always found that interesting. You would think they'd learn from their experiences in a corrupted system; they should understand the signs of corruption. Propaganda is always what comes to mind, they knew it happened back "home," but never think it could happen in their new country... Yet here we are with, arguably, the worst propaganda campaign in history, and (from my experience over the "pandemic") immigrants are lost in brainwashing. It's sad to watch.
I actually saw a video on the inner voice concept. This guy was interviewing a girl to see if she had an inner voice. The video was titled "is this girl an NPC" lol, so I guess me and my parents are NPC.
I don't have one - there's no literal "voice" I can hear in my head as I think, but I still somehow think. My actions do feel automatic much of the time, as if I'm going through life on autopilot. I can't see any imagery in my head whatsoever, my dreams have no visuals. So idk what's going on up there. I'd assume it's the same for my parents.
That's probably the core issue. Without inner monologue, stands to reason one would be more inclined to follow authority figures.
I would focus on mental imaging through exercises. Child games like 'memory' or 'shell games'. Learn them now so you can train your future kids. Also, if there was a website that would flash an image up for a split second and ask you what it was, that would be ideal.
Don't feel too bad, probably 99% of people in the western world are in the same boat.
Most people that were previously "anti-vax" would have been because they had a personal experience with an obvious adverse reaction--it's understandable that your parents did what everyone else did with regards to vaccinations.
Just be thankful that this whole exercise has helped us to reevaluate what the average person took in good faith before covid.
I hear ya. I feel I have been unable to redpill my family regarding this pandemic because of what has been instilled in them by Asian culture (Taiwan in my case). My experience is that Asians pretend to be humble, but are really really proud of themselves and think themselves to be superior.
I try to talk to them about the masks, lockdowns, etc., but they just reply "Look how low the covid numbers are in Taiwan. It's because of Taiwan's policies of masks, contact tracing, quarantine hotels for incoming foreigners." They just trust health authorities, especially Taiwanese ones, so much, that I've had not much luck getting through to them. So, while I'm surprised how many Americans just do whatever they're told to do, my family is surprised by how many Americans aren't following things like mask mandates, social gathering guidance, etc.
They tend to love/trust centralization of powers and just don't see much problem with big tech, big government, big companies, etc. talking to each other in general. Other things, like corrupt politicians (anywhere in the world), China's infiltration of U.S. and other countries, etc., I can get through to them easily, but the dangers of the virus relative to the vax, lockdowns, masks, tyrannical takeovers, etc., not so much. It would probably take some big disclosure regarding the virus and/or Taiwanese Evergiven to get through to them. In the meantime, I am giving them my info (generally the obvious things), and they at least are receptive of what I say (rather than yell at me or tell me to shut up or something)... So when there is a big disclosure hopefully sooner rather than later, they will look to me for answers.
Sorry, that was a bit of a rant, but your post made me want to add a bit of my south Asian experience and grievances. :)
You bet! Hopefully your parents will learn to appreciate your level headedness and start listening to you, whether it be on stuff you learn here or to grab some clothes and house key before exiting into -26C weather.
Unfortunately, being of oriental descent lends itself to a more trusting of authority figures. My mother is the only one on that side of the family that has gone against the narrative. That is only because of my sister and I have given her the information. The rest of my aunts, uncles and cousins are all vaxxed and are not capable of questioning the government or authority figures. I find that nearly all my other oriental descended friends think I'm nuts for asking all the detailed questions and analyzing all the data. I'm not sure if it is a cultural thing or a predisposition genetically, but it just have missed my sister and I. Maybe its our mixed DNA, who knows?
It's sad to hear about your parents, but people like YOU give me hope. The apple fell far from the tree in regards to independence and critical thinking.
Same as my mom. I live in a different country from her and when I said I hoped we could meet sometime this year, she said that the unjabbed like me are "very, very unpopular" at the moment. Expecting a yellow star in the next post from her!
Haha despite the drama, they ended up managing to put on a jacket and a toque, and for some reason they also took a carry-on bag with them.. So much for packing light.
Hey, it's cool, I'm just curious (read: nosey, lol).
Regarding your parents, the idea the government is a benevolent force working in your life is old as time (hell, there are people born in America who believe it, and we should know better...), and it's a hard one to let go of unless you've seen proof to the contrary first hand. Best advice I got is show, don't tell. "actions speak louder than words" as the saying goes.
My parents have gone nuts too. I think the fear drilled into them has really amplified their fear of mortality in general. They have also become complete germophobes.. whereas I've gone in there other direction. Like the carlin sketch about swimming in raw sewage building up the immune system ,..
Heh, my family have always been germophobes. I saw that clip of from Carlin's sketch too (bless him for always speaking facts). Honestly agree with him - please take me back to an era where society doesn't want to scrub down my immune system and destroy the germs my body worked so hard to build.
Hey man! Idk if my reply will get through to you as I ended up deleting my post.. But I hope you're able to read this.
I should mention that I'm actually south Asian (born in Nepal), so probably a lot closer to Indian than east Asian. However, everything you've said is spot on in regards to my own culture. And Nepalese are more shy/timid than Indians anyway, so all the more reason why I relate to what you wrote.
It is accurate to say we're highly obedient to our parents, and how that means many of us don't have a backbone. It's so unfortunate, and it definitely doesn't do us guys any favors to have been raised like this. I can see why your son would do really well with the Asian girls, in contrast to the Asian guys who are probably timid but also emotionally distant. So crappy to have a culture that makes you that unconfident in your emotions. The Asians in my high school were all timid as well (except for one that I remember). People wonder why I didn't go to uni despite getting good grades, and it's because I was tired of having my timid personality contrasted by others' more confident personalities. It was important to my mental health to stay out of uni for this reason.
I've often pondered why white people truly excelled at developing the world, and it makes sense if they come from a culture where parents encourage critical thinking, having ones' own opinions, and emphasizing the importance of expressing emotions (like hugging)! Woke culture enables people who grew up in oppressive cultures to then turn around and blame white people for destroying the world.
Thanks so much for getting it, and being one of the extremely rare few who will say the truth, even when there's so much taboo surrounding racial differences. There's nothing worse than coming from a culture that emotionally stunts you, and then having white people say there's nothing wrong with your culture. Like they're having their cake and eating it too.
You do you, bro! But I’d recommend always (at least trying) to honor, respect and love your parents. I’m sure they mean well for you, and our parents were in the thick of this propaganda growing up. When they see you turn out great after leaving, they tend to lighten up on you :) Peace
Actually I can say that about all my family, I'm the only one who sees...
They mask alone at a car(at some point, double masked), they love their little app on their phones that says they're vaccinated and gives them more rights than people with a brain, and will not question, doesn't matter how many "boosters" they are told to take
Hey, thanks for getting it. You'll see a lot of people here saying it's your responsibility to educate and un-brainwash your family.. but I disagree. You worked hard to be a critical thinker, and you don't deserve to be fighting an uphill battle trying to teach people who won't listen.
Yeah... I do believe of course one should try, which I'm sure you did, but at some point you gotta realize you're trying to force a round peg through a square hole, and divert your efforts to a more productive end.
I tried till the point they took their second shot
I got shit parents too - the worst of liberal and the worst of RINO between the both of them.
You might not be able to appreciate them at the moment, but at least your parents respected learning and stayed together.
So here's a story - I taught myself classical guitar as a hobby, held down passing grades during an accelerated summer semester in college, and for no reason whatsoever, Mom told me to fuck off on finals day and left me stranded with no transportation to school. I was running around the neighborhood frantically knocking on doors for a ride because the city bus had arrived prior to her informing me. No one was home. One of the neighbors forgot his cigarettes and came back home. I was lucky to cross paths with him. I gave him my last $5 bucks to swing by the college so I could take my finals.
Amidst the panic, I forgot my calculator for Math, and now I was late on top of it, so I had less time for the final. However, I was the asshole in class that twisted my teacher's ear to teach me how to do everything manually, so guess what? I remembered. I passed the final with a 90% due to a few certain questions requiring a calculator, so I got them wrong (I'm not Commander Data). As a matter of fact, all my finals that semester were As and Bs. Not one of my parents congratulated me because they "expected it out of me". Fuck 'em both to Hell.
You see, when some parents get divorced, they completely give up on their children, especially after year 18. Whats worse, is they tend to listen to whatever scumbag they're dating at the time. Most guys at the bar just want to fuck your mother, so they tell her to ditch her kids to get them out of their way. If your parents give up on God, they tend to listen to the dicks at the bar. If your Mom cripples your father with debt, he's got to listen to some other woman who wears the pants, has the money, and dictates his actions. Think she gives a shit about leftover children? Hell no.
As much of a pain it might have been at times for you, I would've killed for parents like yours.
Oh yea, those years are long gone, but gosh were they rough.
I've worked with younger people to get them to reconcile with their parents by telling them just how awful the other side can be. I got plenty of war stories. It woke me up to Christ's wisdom.
Sucks I have to be the example, but it sure feels good to help people see their situations differently. It's kind of has the Miracle on 34th Street/Ebeneezer Scrooge effect.
How'd you end up hearing about/discovering the .win sites? I was around for the original reddit page and followed over from the great exodus. I'm curious how your journey led you over here :).
Well I was trying to find a subreddit for Canada, but saw that r/Canada seemed to be mostly leftists. I found r/MetaCanada, which was the conservative sub, and apparently it got banned or shut down or something like that. But in one of their last remaining posts, someone mentioned ".win" and I decided to try figuring out what it was. Some rummaging around on google then led me to find the .wins, and here I am.
I would suggest finding out about your local Republican party. Check them out to make sure they are not Rinos, but the local crowd almost never is. That way you can hang out with people who are not insane.
I live in Canada. I used to live in the US, but we had to leave because we didn't have citizenship. You're right, some Asians are really cool. Funnily enough, my parents would try to prevent me from interacting with any other race - be it whites or other Asians. The old school types you speak of, my parents were not them.
Plus, you're right I'm 24 so I've grown up in this time period and can't relate to the golden times that older generations grew up in.
Also my father has never had a real job - he thinks he's too good to work and he legit brags about being smarter than people. It's not always a black and white story where the parents are good and the kid is a piece of shit - there are plenty of parents who are bad role models.
"...but I really got the short end of the stick."
You seem to have turned out ok -- you're here, after all. ;-)
Yeah thank goodness
You will turn out just fine my fren. Stay strong, weather this storm. It will pay off. Goodluck and God bless.
I was gonna say ‘so they forgot the house key and it’s fricking polar vortex, are they okay!?’
You win though. Well put.
And I hope everyone gets safe and warm.
Should have grabbed the car keys instead and went for pizza until the smoke cleared.
I hope anon stayed inside mocking the parents ha ha
Btw, sometimes having bad role models as parents teaches you exactly what not to do or be.
Yeah, gotta seek out alternative role models in society I suppose
Keep your chin up, if you live your life seeing things the way you do now, you will be someone's role model. Also, none of us is spared from having a Karen or two in the family.
It's true. Karenitis spread much faster than covid.
🤣
Yeah, I hope you can. Actively seek them out. Nowadays and thanks to the internet, we have access to so many more people than folks did a couple of generations ago
They probably do some things well. Take them for what they are. It sounds like they’re good people, just a little high strung and too trusting of media/government.
Robert Kyosaki "rich dad, poor dad" made me rich. My parents are similar to yours, but they listen more now that I pay all the bills.
Lol.
Aw, you should cut your folks some slack - they are only trying to do the best for you with what they know.
It wasn't too long ago that schools were actually pretty good, times change.
-26C, you must live in Canada ❄️
Right but people in this community wouldn't cut me any slack if I went around telling people to mask up and get jabbed. If I became a parent myself though, then maybe I'd get some slack. Some people should not be parents IMO (read: MOST people should not be parents.)
And yep, I live in Canada.
If people waited until they had enough money, education, knowledge, time, and common sense to have kids, we would all be extinct by now 😂
Maybe you should move out and get your own place - I don't know about Canada with that POS Trudeau 'in charge', but is joining the military an option?
Ain't that the truth...
Military seems like an interesting option though, I'll have to see about it
Good luck to you.
Pray for them to one day wake up. There is always hope! I bet, 17 years from now you all will laugh thinking back on the incredible events we live through now!
Never give up, never surrender!
Peace and Love, Patriot!
Must be here in Alberta
Thank god 'berta (specifically Calgary area) has chinooks. Hurry up next week! Tired of this cold
+1 on Monday!
I saw +14 yesterday, I was hoping it was gonna be that, but I guess it was too good to be true... Honestly, I'll take anything warmer than it is now.
Guilt vs. Shame vs. Fear cultures is something to keep in mind.

Reminds me several years ago, a beautiful Woman (who you all know) after visiting children all over the world, said something like this:
"talent is evenly distributed all over the world, unfortunately opportunity not"
WWG1WGA!
Was it the flotus? That is a sweet quote, innit
Yep, the most beautiful First Lady of all times, Melania Trump! God bless her and her whole Family!
Most beautiful, but definitely not the best set of traps.
Before I read to the end of the comments, I just knew in my heart it was Melania. We think 45 had a hard time, but imagine what Melania suffered. Never once did she ever lower herself to their level. Not once. God Bless her Lord and keep her safe.

Short end temporary--as time goes on your parents and you will be drawn to each other-no mater what happens-your mutual love will succeed
Yeah man I guess I'll be forced to forgive them for all the vaccines they gave me

Best line 😂
Did you piss someone off? I notice you received a downvote for a totally innocuous comment :P
Yo…someone dinked yours too?

It's sad to hear about your parents, but people like YOU give me hope. The apple fell far from the tree in regards to independence and critical thinking.
Critical thinking is important for success, which you already have. That’s excellent. God bless you.
We all are in various stages from tiny tadpoles to huge bullfrogs KEK ONLY COLOR IS VARIOUS SHADES OF GREEN FRIEND! WELCOME!!
Same as my mom. I live in a different country from her and when I said I hoped we could meet sometime this year, she said that the unjabbed like me are "very, very unpopular" at the moment. Expecting a yellow star in the next post from her!
Too funny! We need some pics lol.
Haha despite the drama, they ended up managing to put on a jacket and a toque, and for some reason they also took a carry-on bag with them.. So much for packing light.
just to clarify; do you mean southeast asian, or to you mean Arabian?
It's cool either way, just making sure I understand.
South Asian as in, close to Indian lol. Not actual Asian.
Hey, it's cool, I'm just curious (read: nosey, lol).

That’s about my temp, are you in SEAK?
Winnipeg, Manitoba
Go Oilers
You do you, bro! But I’d recommend always (at least trying) to honor, respect and love your parents. I’m sure they mean well for you, and our parents were in the thick of this propaganda growing up. When they see you turn out great after leaving, they tend to lighten up on you :) Peace
.win being weird and not letting me reply to nested comments
I feel you friend, same situation for me.
Actually I can say that about all my family, I'm the only one who sees...
They mask alone at a car(at some point, double masked), they love their little app on their phones that says they're vaccinated and gives them more rights than people with a brain, and will not question, doesn't matter how many "boosters" they are told to take
The TV defines their reality
I gave up.
Sorry to hear that but I'm pleased to hear you overcame some of those burdens and hope you're doing alright now.
So you didn’t get the vaccine?
Oh no, I caved and got the vaccine. :/ This was like 3-4 months ago, before I found .win
OP…you’re truly loved. No matter the inconvenience or embarrassment Bless them and care for them; you’re in good hands. 💕😇
