The bridge that just collapsed in the city of Pittsburgh was set to be restored in 2016. Instead of replacing the completely rusted out supports, they used cables and diverted the money to bike lanes, green energy programs and lanes for self driving cars.

Nothing like this should happen anywhere in the USA. This bridge was poorly designed and not maintained even a little bit. There is no excuse for this.
The question is, was it brought down on that day to help them pass a bill in Congress?
Next question: what other "bills" are they pushing and what other structures do they have waiting to destroy?
All we hear about are these roads and bridges constantly being funded and ostensibly "fixed" and now we know the money is ALWAYS diverted to their pet projects.
We needed to fix those bridges we blew up in Afghanistan!
Edit: rust and proper maintenance is racist
Not to mention all the border walls we have paid for in other countries but not our own coughIsraelcough
the person that signed off on the diversion of fund should be held over for trial.... there always is a paper trail on this stuff.
I think whoever is responsible for inspecting bridges and ordering maintenance should be immediately suspended and criminal charges brought up.
They let the bridge rust to pieces. Bridges need regular maintenance, and they just let it deteriorate until the main structure literally just broke apart.
This is absolutely unacceptable in the USA.
Tells you a lot of where the money is going and where it’s “Magically Disappearing” and just isn’t accounted for ...
Likely
Green new deals are all fraud and grifts. Tax money going to elites.
Time to take them ALL DOWN
Because bike lanes are important.
Especially in a city where you can only bike maybe 2-3 months total per year.
Like Phoenix, where the city council has wasted money on painting bike lanes for years, also put out a lot of ugly green bikes for people to borrow.
There's a road in Phoenix that runs between a golf course and a neighborhood traffic absolutely sucks during rush hour because the route takes you to multiple businesses only accessible by this route. Traffic is made even worse by cyclists hogging up the lane.
The city spent three months "fixing" the road. The solution? Paint "bike lane" in big green boxes every 50 feet along the route and put up signs saying cyclists have the right of way.
Instead of solving the problem they just spent money to make it worse.
Classic city management.
Right, like say Seattle for example. Rains probably 335 days per year. Only escaped communistville for freedom in Missouri a year and a half ago. Would never live in any big city though if my life depended on it.
You can barely bike in much of Pittsburgh to begin with because of all the hills. It’d be suicide to go down and impossible to go up. My husband’s Jeep even struggled when we visited last summer.
Like Tacoma, WA
Agenda 21/2030 crapola; it's everywhere.
The commies controlling our town keep getting grants (from other people's taxation statewide) as partial payments for expensive building while our ancient water mains keep self-destructing. Two in this week alone. The water treatment plant is so bad that the state threatens to take over things and yet the commies keep spending, spending, spending on frivolous crap.
Installing Agenda 21/30 is well organized. There’s thousands of “community organizers” and “change agents” trained to infiltrate at the local level to pass laws allowing the plan to take over, bit by bit.
Sick and messed up. The government wouldn’t know a REAL priority if it smacked em in the face.
Pretty soon you won't be able to afford gasoline anyways so we'll need those bike lanes! Although I don't know where you would be going since you won't have a job and can't leave your house.
Are you in the Pittsburgh area? I am in the suburb and honestly it isn't bad here. Now if you go downtown you have to show your vax card but they can shove that card right up their liberal asses. There is absolutely nothing I need to do or see downtown. Been there and have seen just about everything anyways.
Wow. We are approaching 3rd world status. What happened to all that infrastructure money, Barry?
Went to his friends in the green energy business, who acquired billions in equipment, went broke without ever producing electricity, sold the equipment we paid for at bankruptcy auctions to settle their bankruptcy. Meanwhile their proxies shill at said auctions and get new equipment for pennies on the dollar.
Oh right, Solyndra et al
Probably in Ukraine
What happened to the millions that the state is receiving from the casinos?? These people are crooked to the core.
That goes to schools so that PA gets meaningful property tax relief by 2010. Ed Rendell said so.
I haven't seen any meaningful property tax relief. Have you?
I haven't seen one fucking dime.
The only thing I've witnessed at least in W. PA are school districts maintaining at least 1 fiscal year's worth of unfunded liabilities and the state continuing to do the same thing.
To quote Wendy Bell: Ed Rendell can "suck it".
Do you remember when Wolf was under Rendell and he changed the multiplier for the PSERS? That not-so-subtle change caused every county, municipality and school district to automatically go further in debt and try to play catch up. These bastards should be tarred and feathered unless you can come up with a more painful punishment.
Yes, more bike lanes, especially in the Northeast, where the snow is three feet deep.
Funny part, those assholes on bikes still go on the road and sidewalks.
well the street cleaners and plows don't clear the bike paths, and bikes are supposed to 'share the road' with cars (but are not supposed to use sidewalks.)
I'm talking all year here man. Outside the city where they did this in the burbs too
Wake up Steel City, you've been lulled to sleep as Champions and now collapsing under frauds and tyrants.
You are correct
I wish you could post where you work in Pittsburgh :-) ... I'm not asking though :-) .
Looks like we got our own Itty Bitty Pitty Committee here on GAW. Telegram it up bois!
I'm still not sure if the large tech uprising is good or bad for the city. We need to pivot away from steel, but I see tech cities (Seattle) and do not want that for my city.
And totally disobedient public servants, at the very least.
And a totally obedient public who allows them to get away with it.
No it's the scheming cabal. Spreading money among themselves and letting bridges fall down because...😪we didn't get more money from what we were promised would come when the election was put Bidens way.🤬
Don't you see the false flag they are trying to create as they push their infrastructure bill? Just this past week, VP visited Milwaukee, WI to meet with the EPA Mike Regan to discuss infrastructure. Not believing this was just an accident.
They already passed infastructure bill w rino help now shilling for 6uild 6ack 6etter
That is not true. Only a portion of it has been worked on. They are trying hard to convince they need much more, hence all the visits of late. A broken, rusted bridge accident just reinforces a need for infrastructure, don't you get it?? So obvious.
Thank you.
So not surprisingly, the money was allocated and to be spent, but leftists got involved and the corruption that follows. The same thing with the big Covid bill and the recently passed Infrastructure bill. Regular order no longer existing in Congress means they pass these massive spending bills that allows and encourages this fraud and corruption to happen. The right people are getting their cut so nothing will change. It’s a well oiled machine.
"Infrastructure spending"
It's how you know it's working.™
Is there sauce for the money going to those programs versus the bridge?
Terrible.
How do you turn a First World country into a Third World Country without bombing it into the stone age and at the same time make your cronies millionaires?
Odd, when I checked this post an hour ago there were 241 upticks. Now it's at 112?
That's our Bike Lane Billy.😕
Yeahhh, let’s see how well those work without the bridge
Do some research. Most infrastructure money that was passed out by Obama went somewhere else. There wasnt going to be a country that needed infrastructure. They intended to destroy it completely.
Remember when J&L mill was scheduled for detonation at 4 o'clock on a Friday but it fell on its own at 3 o'clock?
Would've been nice if you left a source here so we could share it. Without a story talking about the bike lanes, etc. its just a story that could've been made up.
The source was on Twitter and every time I post a Twitter link I get a bunch of s***. So I copied the text from the heading and a picture from the post and put it on here. I'm not going to try and find that Twitter post again.
According to the Mayor AND the Fire Chief, it was last inspected in April of '21,...and "passed."
Like, ok.
The funny thing is, the day before this collapse, there was a marathon of the worst engineering disasters in the world on one of the cable channels my mom watches. Almost every show highlighted some bridge disaster or another. I didn't put 2+2 together until today, but this can't be a coincidence.
That’s how they launder the money and destroy our communities.
Did anyone else here that the bridge came down from a gas explosion?
