Let's have a name? In less than an hour I'm sure justice will be served. So sorry that child will never know what it's like to be a human.

7 Hours later and not a single person has come up with a name, a location, anything factual

Your buying into someone's agenda, your believing their fear porn and causing outrage over make believe scenarios

This never happened, it's all fake and you "researchers" really need to learn to stop believing every pile of garbage dropped on your doorstep as unequivocal truth without doing even a rudimentary check on it's basis in fact

Someone's entitled...

We don't have super powers. It doesn't work like that.

Don't worry. Tomorrow we'll be thinking about babies having bottom surgery and you'll be saying "they only do it to toddlers, not babies, that's fake news"

Say what you want, I was a conspiracy theorist for saying they're giving puberty blockers to kids, didn't take long for it to become official policy.

How is it entitled to ask for evidence before believing something you saw on the internet?

Do you believe everything you read online? Especially the "My neighbor's cousin's tax account said...." type of information?

Edit: "You 'researchers' really need to stop believing every pile of garbage dropped on your doorstep as unequivocal truth without doing even a rudimentary check on its basis in fact."

So what STOPPED YOU from doing what you're chastising others for?

You: Instead of posting PROOF that it's fake, you pontificate about researching THAT OTHERS should do. People like you are the problem, not OP.

It's impossible to prove something is non-existant. In this case that is the child who had the operation.

The onus is on the person making the claim to provide evidence for their claim.

That's simply how logic works.

I reject your premise . Nice try though.

▲ 4 ▼
– ARandomOgre 4 points 4 years ago +4 / -0

You can’t prove a negative. This is a well known component of logic.

To prove that something can’t be true, you would be claiming to have a perfect knowledge of truth.

Which is why the burden is ALWAYS on the person making the claim to back it up. Every time.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– ImaSueDeNym 1 point 4 years ago +1 / -0

How do you know its non-existent if you don't research?

Well, you can't know that, even if you do research. To know if something does not exist, you would first have to have a complete knowledge of everything that does exist. I'm not aware of any omniscient people, are you?

I could search for evidence of the case we're talking about for the rest of my life and never find any. It doesn't mean it doesn't exist, just that I was never able to find it.

This is why it's the responsibility of the person making the claim that something does exist (like this case) to provide evidence to support their claim.

I reject your premise . Nice try though.

It's not my premise. It's a basic foundation of logical thought and has been around for thousands of years.

Feel free to call up your favorite search engine and look up "proving a negative logical fallacy" or "burden of proof (philosophy)".

✌️

Edited to add; I am curious as to what you would accept as proof that this case we're talking about never happened. Could you give me an example of what you have in mind?

Yeah, following that thread, so far it's hearsay. No names or other identifiers that could even point to a location. Would it surprise me if it were true? Sickeningly, no. With what Doctors have gone along with so far, very little would surprise me. But as it stands, I can find no verifiable info on this. To anyone questioning my stance, we are here to work with evidence that is verifiable and can be sourced. I'm not saying don't dig, please do, but I can't find anything to back the claims up at this point.

I think the real problem with this is the few cases that do really happen are truly hidden because the patient is a minor. Between HIPA and child protection laws no one is legally allowed to talk about it. Thus if they do find that one crazy doctor and two crazy parents it actually happens. However the right is blowing this out of proportion and/or just lying about it. I find it hard to believe this is common. Then again like I said with medical privacy laws and how crazy these lunatic leftists are... SMH.

Why do so many people find it so difficult to put anything in their posts that can support their claims?

Look at how many people are getting riled up over "I heard someone say something bad happened!".

Stop letting people jerk you around by your emotions so much, ffs. It makes you, and through association, others, look extremely ignorant and naive.

Now, if this is true, surely there is some information out there that would support the claims.

What is the name of the pediatrician that claimed this happened? What is the name of the clinic where this happened?

I understand completely. Sometimes I get the impression that some people just want to be outraged, you know?

At least some people in this thread cared enough to do something, like contact the authorities where it supposedly happened. That's rare. Mostly it's just people typing out their outrage and goading each other into a frenzy of anger.

It bothers me that so many people who pride themselves on being skeptical of the MSM and who routinely call others sheep for simply believing what they're told are so willing themselves to believe something like this just because someone Tweeted a copy of another tweet where someone said some other unnamed person said it.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– Voteordie 2 points 4 years ago +2 / -0

It’s the inner leftist waking up in people, they don’t actually want to see change, they just want to be mad about something and play the victim.

Those truly awake don’t just take the counter-narrative as fact and get outraged, they think about it critically and spot the errors (no attribution, no reporting on this throughout our commonly used sources).

I tried to trace down the origin of this info and discovered something pretty ironic.

So we have someone on this site posting a pic of a Twitter user posting a pic of another Twitter user referencing yet another Twitter user saying that some unnamed person told her this story.

The original person who was told this info (by some unnamed person) is a lawyer who has written for Forbes magazine.

Interestingly enough, one of her most recent articles is about confirmation bias and why people automatically believe emotional stories we read online, even when there is zero evidence that those stories are real.

🤦‍♀️

From the article written by the woman who originally claimed some unnamed doctor told her this:

Confirmation bias is the tendency to seek out information that supports what we already believe. Emotional reasoning is justifying a conclusion based on our emotional connection to the issue. Combining the two, it looks like we really wanted for this story to be true and we put scrutiny skills aside to make it true.

“We found that false news was more novel than true news, which suggests that people were more likely to share novel information.” The explanation appears to be based entirely on our negative emotions: “false stories inspired fear, disgust, and surprise.”

permalink save report block reply
▲ 4 ▼
– SuckaFree 4 points 4 years ago +4 / -0

This is a clear cut case as to why independent research is needed in tracking down these stories.

It would seem to me that whoever originally wrote that tweet is playing games with people's emotions. And thr Normies are sucking it all up without a thought to research.

I couldn't agree with you more. I would think Ms. Medvin especially would understand why it's wrong to spread this type of rumor-mongering that's designed to enrage people.

Either she has a) avery short memory of her own research and writing, b) no ability to recognize the same situation happening again or c) an agenda to push.

Or maybe there's an explanation I just don't see. 🤷‍♀️

But whatever it is, it's just sad that so many people fall for it.

Echo chambers are detrimental to that process, truth is often found in places we find the most uncomfortable, but we have to search for it in order to see it.

I might consider but not a 5 y.o. unless there is some ambiguous gender thing going on which also includes deformity but that is done at a much younger age. A doctor in this situation is an easy target for malpractice suit at some point down the road; therefore, he or she would have to be crazy to do this.
