Zelensky had moved the bulk of his forces east for a kill shot on Donetsk and Lugansk. They were prepping a major operation to retake the two autonomous regions. Russia saw it, and rapidly encircled the majority of their force - then shot up their gear like shooting fish in a barrel. Zelensky started begging right then, and he's been flying around the world in private jets and the combat fatigues since, asking everyone he can for free weapons. He's broke. He can't afford anything. He's got literally nothing here, and he's at risk of missing payments on a lot of his national debt. His country should've collapsed 3-4x by now.
Right now, the only reason this war is continuing is because Biden's paying their bills and sending them weapons. They're using our intelligence assets, our weapons, our training. Our leaders are making the calls from Washington. We're fighting the war right now with Ukrainian bodies. This is a very different relationship from being an arms dealing capitalist. If Congress wasn't thoroughly corrupt, they'd end this shit right now. There is no AUMF for this war Biden's fighting.

They have the upper hand right now and in these situations that can only change when there is an incentive to change course. There is no leadership change major enough in western countries to change course so far. No economic positive boom for western countries so far, and diplomatic ties are strengthening for Russia with India and China.

We are not so fond of it as they are. We have some big fancy systems that fire large warheads long distance. Russia's (and Ukraine's, they use the same stuff) are cheap and on the back of a relatively basic truck.
