It is a continuing pattern of businesses acting in ways that counter their goal of making profit. They are probably going to lose about 1/3 of their business because of this, but they don't care.
I would hope so. Unfortunately $2500 is a pretty large blow to those living check to check & just waking up.
A single infraction would be devastating to them financially. The vast majority wouldn't even know where to begin legally (ie to even get a lawyer) & would not have the mindset to begin lawfare due to lack of funds.
I have paypal, but I keep a limited amount in a dedicated account attached to the paypal account. I don't know if they could withdraw more than is in the account. I may have to look into it.
Who gets to decide what is misinformation?
If they fine someone for something which subsequently turns out to be true, what then?
Those globalist fuckers. This is a social credit system and this is why you must not give up cash.
They did go back on this, but I do (and have never) trusted them. They've been known to otherwise steal money/hold it hostage for YEARS. I keep the money I have in mine at zero and only use it for buying typical stuff for credit card points and such.
Soon it will be your bank accounts. People with money in the bank, in bank controlled hands, are very trusting of a system that doesn’t really care if your living or breathing.
This needs to be realized. Most people don't know that after 2008, govts around the world created legislation so that deposits to banks are now classified as unsecured loans. When you put the money in the bank, then own it, even if they owe you the amount. So when a bank collapses, their first port of call is the funds they have access to, which was once YOUR money, but no more.
It's called BAIL IN, instead of Bail Out.
And all the major banks are in debt to derivatives to the tune of trillions of dollars, collectively.
TOS that states theft is illegal. Is there another way to interpret that? Am I missing something? I can’t set up a t shirt company, and say that if you buy a t shirt, I’ll raid your $ account to the tune of whatever I see fit. That would not fly. TOS is not higher than the law.
If you setup the TOS that says for every shirt purchased theres an additional X fee and you press accept when you buy the shirt, that's the equivalent of what's happening here.
Luckily people are privy to it and said fuck that, they've had a lot of cancellations.
Epoch times is well worth their sub fee. This forum by and large supports paying them. PayPal has released numerous statements walking back the policy.
Good point. They don't specify how they "monitor" what you say on other social media apps. Nowhere does it detail what the process is of finding you "in violation." What the hell is going on.
I don’t think they were about to start policing the Internet and charging everyone $2500. It was probably intended as more of a threat so people would feel fear and self-censor, and then for them to have the option to go after certain high-profile thought leaders to make an example.
Took me over an hour to go through and cancel all linked vendors (mostly outdated) that pile up over 20+ years of use, thanks to PayPal making it hard to cancel the last card on file until everything is unlinked. In the reason for cancellation box, I put “go woke go broke”. Also canceled Venmo since they are basically one in the same. Not gonna lie, it was a bit hard to cancel something I’ve had for 20+ years, but in the end that’s the only way to ensure their greedy nazi bastard hands don’t go reaching into my bank accounts.
Still cancelled. Still not going back. Some asshat at that organization thought it was a good idea. He then pitched it to the execs up several layers of the corporate structure and they all thought it was a brilliant idea. At some point, some VP of something or other signed off on it, called up the legal team, who didn't object, and rewrote the TOS.
The entire organizational structure is complicit. They ALL thought this fascist bullshit was a good idea and eagerly supported the plan.
Go woke, go broke. I'm not doing business with these people. Period. End of statement.
Same here. I just figured out I use it to auto pay for my VPN, so maybe yours is linked to a reoccurring payment as well. I’m hoping once I change my auto payment on the VPN side, I will be able to delete it.
No Agenda uses PayPal ... they've considered changing payment processors for a while now but PayPal is one of the only ones that is both easy to set up AND doesn't require the payer/donator/whatever to download an app or make an account.
Gab Pay looks interesting but then you have to convince people to download an app ...
You are independently responsible for complying with all applicable laws in all of your actions related to your use of PayPal's services, regardless of the purpose of the use. In addition, you must adhere to the terms of this Acceptable Use Policy. Violation of this Acceptable Use Policy constitutes a violation of the PayPal User Agreement and may subject you to damages, including liquidated damages of $2,500.00 U.S. dollars per violation, which may be debited directly from your PayPal account(s) as outlined in the User Agreement (see “Restricted Activities and Holds” section of the PayPal User Agreement).
Deleted mine, although I hardly used it. Apparently there have been so many cancellations that you now have to call to cancel it. Too funny. Fuck these globohomos
Any company doing business with paypal should find another source, now. Just closed my account - have had it for years. When asked why I was closing it, wrote that I refuse to do business with a CCP social scoring company.
Good thing I haven't used PayPal over a decade. I will close out my old account the bank account it was attached to was closed over a decade ago as well.
Start on this road and you may find yourself unable to get off of it. Maybe when they decide they are done with the threats, I am still not done, because I have to teach lessons here regarding overreach that last generations. And because they thought I could do nothing, my return has to be disproportionate, to a level they are clearly umcomfy with.
Just read the new policy today and didnt see this. I did click on several links but none of them showed this. Just wonder how many levels down in the policy this is buried. Either way Im done with them, cant wait until all these scumbags are in the bread line.
Honestly PayPal is ancient. I haven’t ever seen a NEED for it. With things like chime, cash app, any simple banking app there’s no need for it. It’s like a vintage simplicity bank. I’ve used it once or twice ever just because someone wanted to send me money via PayPal.
It is a continuing pattern of businesses acting in ways that counter their goal of making profit. They are probably going to lose about 1/3 of their business because of this, but they don't care.
Then we need to make them irrelevant.
Indeed. They are all controlled. The central banking & wall street cartel control nearly every major company.
It’s a rigged market.
This will happen once and they will be sued.
Stickied up for the warning. They’re panicking because they’re being destroyed. NCSWIC.
This

Reject cash, return to silver.
I’ve cancelled my account, I’d recommend you do the same and let them know why.
They can. They would.
They did go back on this, but I do (and have never) trusted them. They've been known to otherwise steal money/hold it hostage for YEARS. I keep the money I have in mine at zero and only use it for buying typical stuff for credit card points and such.

Yup, we need a parallel system now.
We already have one. It's called crypto.
It's called silver.
Silver is a parallel system? I didn't know it could be sent electronically.
What?! I don’t see how this could be legal. This is theft and if they even try it, they will be sued out of existence.
Theres currently no law that would prevent them from doing this since you are required to agree to the terms to use the platform.
Terms can’t be illegal, correct?
Correct, but theres no law saying that a company cant put it in their TOS that they will take funds from an account that they manage.
It should be illegal, but at the moment, it is not
This needs to be realized. Most people don't know that after 2008, govts around the world created legislation so that deposits to banks are now classified as unsecured loans. Theft is already a crime.
I agree, but their argument is that it isnt theft since it's in the TOS
Theres no legal precedent because this hasnt happened yet with any other company.
I agree that its theft, but a court possibly wouldn't, at least at the current moment
State Farm Insurance is another company whose management is taking the company deep into the cabal.
Because of this I have transferred my homeowner's and auto policies to Farm Bureau.
Suggest others who are insured by State Farm find an insurer that isn't globalist oriented.
Dropped my membership this morning, even though my account was so old it had a previous address connected to it. Happy bankruptcy, Paypal.
PayPal owns Venmo too.
Stop using both platforms.
Other choices to consider: CashApp or Zelle.
CashAp def good
Gab Pay !!!
Cashapp is owned by Square, just fyi
Or maybe crypto? Why dump one fiat platform for another that is subject to the same monetary policies?
Crypto stored offline cannot be seized or frozen or censored.
https://www.theepochtimes.com/paypal-reverses-course-says-company-will-not-seize-money-for-promoting-misinformation_4783827.html
Can we get a functional non-paywalled link please? Or better yet, a link to the primary source at Paypal rather than a "news" site's interpretation?
Epoch times is well worth their sub fee. This forum by and large supports paying them. PayPal has released numerous statements walking back the policy.
Good idea but he should sell some ‘Trump Won 2020’ t-shirts that will piss them off 🤤

They said it was an error and they are rewriting it. I don’t care. I closed my accounts. Never again.
“AN ERROR”….Honk!!!

In paypals latest twitter post they have retracted their statement due to backlash.
Doesnt matter

I use it to pay part time virtual assistants. If I can find another method I will.
I write and edit freelance for a site that only pays via Paypal. Not even a choice.
Yep I used to do that too. Miss that gig.
Take your funds out of there as soon as they send each payment to you.
can they withdraw it from your bank account, or just paypal balance?
I have a card on there that I am unable to remove. it gives me an error. Maybe i should call them.
Same here. I just figured out I use it to auto pay for my VPN, so maybe yours is linked to a reoccurring payment as well. I’m hoping once I change my auto payment on the VPN side, I will be able to delete it.
nope. autopay nothing with paypal. don't even use it for ebay anymore.
No Agenda uses PayPal ... they've considered changing payment processors for a while now but PayPal is one of the only ones that is both easy to set up AND doesn't require the payer/donator/whatever to download an app or make an account.

This is fucked.
It's stealing period. When you hold money in escrow you have legal responsibilities. Strange they'd try to pull this. Suicidal even.
Sauce?
on the PayPal website
https://www.paypal.com/us/legalhub/acceptableuse-full
it's in the acceptable use policy

I agree with you. I closed my account.
I wonder if certain Wayfair transactions violate their Acceptable Use Policy?
Deleted mine, although I hardly used it. Apparently there have been so many cancellations that you now have to call to cancel it. Too funny. Fuck these globohomos
Just cancelled my inactive PayPal. Get fucked
Any company doing business with paypal should find another source, now. Just closed my account - have had it for years. When asked why I was closing it, wrote that I refuse to do business with a CCP social scoring company.

No business should ever be able to rip money out of your bank account because they didn't like what you said.
Start on this road and you may find yourself unable to get off of it. Yeah thanks for the heads up fren… i’ve always wanted to replace PayPal as my online store merchant.
I heard Cash App is good. I’ve been researching that one a few months back.
Gotta be honest, their handling of the Eric July/Rippaverse situation already crossed that line for me.
Gee Paypal (PP) has a team of rouge lawyers who put out their new AUP that they surely spent weeks working on.
I left PP in April 2020 when I first learned they had started (openly) targeting American Patriots. It's natural to remove the PP.
I cancelled my account. thanks for the head's up.
I identify as Paypal and they are marginalizing me. I am afraid of getting bullied now. Look what they are doing to me, is there any recourse?
