Don't trust western medicine these days. My father has pretty bad arthritis, loves golf, and can't play due to his hands being so painful. Makes me sad to see his love of golf coming to an end.
Any of you know of supplements or cures to arthritis that western medicine has hidden from us? Know it is a long shot, but this place seems to be the only place where I get truth.
Thanks everyone. Love you all.
This should come as no surprise, but Ivermectin is used for arthritis.
It did not work for mine..I tried it for multiple weeks hoping for reprieve with no good results
ivermectin+zinc works, but it's not immediate relief. The zinc hits virus-infected cells, helping the immune system destroy the cell. The ivermectin by itself can do the same for bateria-infected cells. The destroyed cells invoke inflammation as the immune system does cleanup.
If you've had arthritis for decades, it might be years to clear up, not weeks.
Fenbendazole/menbendazole+zinc works too. Might work better or worse than ivermectin, depending on what bugs are causing your arthritis.
Fenbendazole and menbendazole are the same molecule, marketed under two names, the first for veterinarians, the second for people.
I came in here to say ivermectin, but I was just being a smart ass. Had no idea.
Does not work for me.
Search the posts about borax. I’ve seen some recently. Maybe week or two back.
I also saw this. ? Is borax safe? I only know of borax as a laundry cleaner? Or is it a different kind of borax? I also have a touch of arthritis and it gets bad in the winter. I need more information. Sounds dangerous but I am uninformed???
You can get Boron capsules. I've just started on that.
It's safe. Read "the borax conspiracy," it's all in there. I've stirred some borax in my drinking water plenty of times. No problems.
I’ve taken Borax for years.
Me too off and on... Boron! I simply put a dash in green/spearmint tea with honey.
Yes simply Borax, I think it says 99.9 percent pure if memory serves.
Here is a cinnamon and honey Arthritis write I've had I've got another printed paper using Borax for arthritis
ARTHRITIS: Arthritis patients may take daily, morning, and night, one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. If taken regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week, out of the 200 people so treated, practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain, and within a month, mostly all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis started walking without pain.
Cinnamon and Honey Honey is the only food on the planet that will not spoil or rot. It will do what some call turning to sugar. In reality honey is always honey.. However, when left in a cool dark place for a long time it will do what I rather call "crystallizing". When this happens I loosen the lid, boil some water, and sit the honey container in the hot water, turn off the heat and let it liquefy. It is then as good as it ever was. Never boil honey or put it in a microwave. To do so will kill the enzymes in the honey.
Cinnamon and Honey Bet the drug companies won't like this one getting around. Facts on Honey and Cinnamon: It is found that a mixture of honey and Cinnamon cures most diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world. Scientists of today also accept honey as a 'Ram Ban' (very effective) medicine for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without any side effects for any kind of diseases.
Today's science says that even though honey is sweet, if taken in the right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm diabetic patients. Weekly World News, a magazine in Canada , in its issue dated 17 January,1995 has given the following list of diseases that can be cured by honey and cinnamon as researched by western scientists:
I mix my Boron, magnesium and iodine and drink. Some benefits?
A bit late but thank you for that reply. It did sure seem to help me with joint pain I was having. And yes so very cheap... shhhh... big pharma will start banning Borax and Epsom salts like they are Idoine. I couldn't believe they were trying to Ban Lugols Iodine solution.
Which brand?
Just 20 mule team in the laundry section of your grocery. Really cheap and really awsome.
So I've been taking 20mule borax for 4days 1/4tsp 2x/day
Seems to help my knee but now my appendix is sore when I cough or move a bit.
Only thing I found is this that mentions the lancet saying there was a rise in appendix ruptures with boric acid.
Do you have your appendix?
Ever heard this?
https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/204978
I would back off to 1/4 tsp a day. I haven’t heard that but boric acid is not the same thing.
I backed off for now. Will report back in a week or two.
Borax is a mineral salt that is mined, not synthesized. The dosages recommended seem excessive, much lower doses are effective. Can cause gynecomastia in some people, but so does saw palmetto.
Dose I find useful is dissolve 1 teaspoon borax in a 12 z bottle of water. Need to put the water into a pan and heat lightly to dissolve. Pour back into the bottle and put in the fridge. When arthritis acts up I pour a couple of tablespoons of the solution into drinking water. Relieves arthritis in a few hours.
Thanks I will try it for my hands.
Like all supplements, give it some time to work when first starting up. May take a few weeks, may see some Herxheimer reaction. May or may not work for you. I try a lot of supplements that others swear bu but if I don't experience any benefit after a month I discontinue.
Borax is used to soften the water, there isn’t any soaps or anything in it.
Sugar causes inflammation big time. Cut that first and usually there is reduced pain
Yes, there is a lot more involved leptin/insulin/sugar swings
overeating --- rinse and repeat
Yep, it's an endless cycle: Overeat on bad carbs/sugars/etc because it's easy to do -> blood sugar spikes then crashes fast -> hungry again after an hour or two -> repeat.
Eat more dietary fiber / fat / protein and see how less hungry you are.
Can you name some good food examples to feed kids?
I appreciate your input. Yea it is very hard to make them eat what we want. I try to makes things fun now and encourage a plate of colors aka a little bit of everything. Setting the example is the best piece of advice you could have given me on this... im gonna take that to heart.
carbs trigger insulin
insulin suppresses leptin ---> causes overeating (eat more carbs, viscous circle)
Ketogenic diet bro. The body is inflammed aka arthritic. If he cuts processed and shit foods from diet...and alot of processed meats and cheeses......Go for cleaner, higher quality ketogenic based foods. Keep it simple. If its more than 1-2 steps from God's hands...dont eat it. I bet this alone after a couple weeks will make his bones hurt much less. I speak from experience. My back is over 70% arthritis.
Agree! Had arthritis in my hands and knees for years. Very painful. Started the keto diet in February and am down 60 pounds AND don’t have arthritis anymore! Keto is now the only way I eat. It’s a lifestyle change! I also do intermittent fasting. Sugar is HORRIBLE for the body! Good luck.
When I did keto a few years back, I was able to fast for 48 hours. No stomach growling, no crashy weakness, just never ending energy. I want to get back on keto soon!
I have unbelievable energy since starting the keto life style! I also use PURE Mct oil (1 tablespoon) every morning. It keeps me from being hungry and gives me additional energy. Recent no lab work at my annual check up was PERFECT! The dr literally called personally because she was amazed! Cholesterol had come down! If you need any guidance or more tricks, let me know!
There is a great cardiologist someone on here linked awhile ago. Basically he says that if it's been modified it's not food but instead a product. Goes on to talk about how bad cereal is, packaged processed foods, etc.
My uncle had very good luck with diet change. It worked while he stuck to the diet, but since has not been as strict, and is having flare ups again. He was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. The diet that helped him was to switch to real whole foods. Most important thing was eliminating refined sugars and nightshades. Lots of organic veggies. Grass fed meats. I think for meats he mainly did fish and chicken.
I've also heard borax/boron works really well, but don't know anyone who has tried it. This is a link I found somewhere on GAW: https://www.life-enthusiast.com/articles/medical-borax-conspiracy/
Interesting on the nightshades.
Nightshades are known to cause inflammation issues in some people. Not sure how reliable this site is, was just a top search result. But it explains science behind it: https://gundrymd.com/nightshades/
Also, people who are allergic to latex can cross react with tomatoes and potatoes. Looks like possibly other foods as well: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/8732238/
thank you for this link. i'd heard of this doctor before from gaw, re: mineral depletion, etc, and i found this article fascinating. my husband is ordering borax as we speak. i have arthritic hands and he has rotary cuff arthritic pain. we shall see. but all of the comments on this thread are interesting and helpful. thanks all, frens!
I don't know anyone who has tried borax for arthritis. Please update if you can! ☺️ And I hope it works for you and your husband.
I tried it for a month and didn't notice any significant changes, unfortunately. Maybe it has to do with different types and causes, but I was disappointed. But I can't say if it made a difference with my mineral absorption. I never get sick, but that could be from the zinc supplements I take daily.
Thank you for getting back to me! Sorry it didn't work for you. Definitely might depend on what type of arthritis or if there's a specific underlying cause. Another thing to look into is MSM. Sorry for WebMD link... There's a lot of information out there, though.
https://www.webmd.com/vitamins-and-supplements/msm-methylsulfonylmethane-uses-and-risks
I would like to add that I used to smoke cannabis, and quit last March. Upon reflection, I realized that this is when my symptoms started to get worse. Quitting cannabis led to many positive changes in my life, but I wonder if there's a connection there to my arthritis symptoms. I understand people use CBD oil to treat arthritis. I might consider CBD in the future.
My guess would be that it helped you relax and not be so tense. Light exercise might help over time. I had doctors try to put me on antidepressants for pain caused by IC of the bladder. Supposedly nerve pain can be caused mentally. None of them went well or worked. An alternative that worked well for me was ashwaganda, but I'm currently pregnant and can't take it. Also not a doctor and all that, so take my advice with a grain of salt. ☺️
All good points. I'll take it into consideration. Also, congratulations!
Thank you! I'll look into this, for sure. I believe I've read stuff on WebMD before. I appreciate your help.
Anything that helps inflammation will help so an anti-inflammation diet will help. I have bad arthritis in my hands, spine and feet. I won't take NSAIDS or pain pills all the time. I use Blue Emu with lidocaine. Emu oil is great for inflammation and the lidocaine helps with pain. You can also get plain emu oil on Amazon.
Also Arnicare, which is a gel and contains arnica, which is great for inflammation as well as bruises. You can get it and the Blue Emu at Walmart.
Finally, ask his doctor if compression gloves will help him.
I hope this helps him. I can certainly relate. I had to ask passersby at the grocery store the other day to open a bottle of Pepsi for me. I couldn't get it to move. A nice teenager cracked it open for me in about 1 second.
You actually put Pepsi inside you!!? Or just use it for cleaning the toilet (I hope).
Where did you get the idea that it's okay to tell an adult what they are allowed or not allowed to eat or drink? Been hanging out with liberals?
Anything that causes inflammation will worsen arthritis pain. So figure out what causes the inflammation. For me it’s cane sugar and corn syrup (so basically all processed food). I can eat honey and maple syrup without issues.
Also, don’t forget about older arthritis meds. When I finally sought treatment (I have a spinal flavor of arthritis that can affect every joint in my body), I could barely change my newborn baby’s diapers because my hands hurt so badly, and I often had to use a cane around the house. So I researched, and then insisted on an older medicine, despite the rheumatologists insistence on a newer, more expensive, toxic biologic drug. 4 years later, it still works amazingly well, I don’t have side effects, and I don’t wonder every day if I’m going to wind up with cancer in order to walk without a cane.
Soooo,,,,what was the medicine?
I take a low dose of sulfasalazine. It’s been around since the 70’s if I remember right. I initially asked for it because I knew I could breastfeed safely on it and my mother had been on it for 30 years with zero problems. The rheumatologist I saw wanted me to go on methotrexate and Remicade (a biologic) which was to be delivered by monthly infusion. Conveniently he had just built a nifty new infusion center in his practice, but I’m sure that didn’t influence his suggested treatment.
At the moment, I’ve added quercetin and vitamin c which also seems to help, and cutting out sugar (again) has almost completely eliminated my pesky morning stiffness that had started to creep up again.
Thanks for responding.
The point about older meds is good across the board- Midwestern Doctor has suggested you don't take meds that haven't been on the market for at least seven years.
Along these lines, turmeric reduces inflammation.
I know several people who take a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and one of honey in a glass of warm water. They swear by it.
Try Boron. It works to ease any pain I have (scoliosis) but it was miraculous for my sister who is extremely overweight due to anti-rejection drugs for a kidney transplant not to mention roids she’s on. She’s younger than me but I would rather die than live like she was. I found out that Boron worked for certain people with arthritis and got her some. I use it at night because it helps me get a deep, restful sleep. I’ve also heard people say it decreased the desire for alcohol, tobacco and benzodiazepines. It takes about two weeks before you notice a difference but it does work
CBD (Helps, doesn't cure)
Weed!
Can he modify his diet? A lot of times arthritis is autoimmune. Can he exclude sugar, dairy and gluten? I also heard fasting helps.
I have found processed foods make my arthritis much worse, especially high fructose corn syrup and anything “diet.” I take daily turmeric and black cherry supplements and drink green tea (any tea really). Anti inflammatory diet is the ticket.
I saw a YT video at one time where a man cured his arthritis by eating nothing but watermelon for a number of months. I know that sounds crazy, but I think the principle is sound: essentially a cleanse. Also, someone on Voat had put up something about how nearly every disease we deal with that is chronic in nature is related to parasites. That's why the comment about ivermectin being used for arthritis makes sense. That would be my first go to.
Also, turmeric helps--pretty big doses. And MSM Glucosamine.
When I first saw watermelon for months, I immediately thought, 'man, that guy must having been peeing like crazy'. But as you point out, it is meant to act as a cleanse....probably not too far off.
I have arthritis and I take Quinol turmeric daily. You need to take it with pepper extract called BioPerine for it to work.
Also I drink ginger water. Very easy to make. Just take a quart of water and cut off about 1-1/2 inches of ginger root. Peel off skin and slice into water. Bring water to boil and simmer 10 minutes. Remove ginger slices. Store in refrigerator to use daily. I heat it but you can drink cold.
I drink it with a little stevia or you can use honey. You can also use the ginger water with a green tea bag for tea.
Best way is to drink it straight with stevia or sugar or honey.
I noticed a difference.
Also on Amazon they sell Cherry Force which is tart cherry extract. It works but not cheap. Drinking cherry juice doesn't work.
Hope this helps.
At one time DMSO solvent applied to skin was all the rage.
I personally do not know if it works
https://www.metacrawler.com/search?q=dmso+arthritis+testimonials
The theory was that it increased the flow through permeable membranes.
DMSO does increase permeability but doesn't do much itself it acts as a carrier for other topical medications.
Maybe you have to take it with something else.
Worked great on my arthritic knee, and also shoulder rotator cuff injury. Use the medical grade or you will end up smelling like garlic.

BORAX. 1/4 tsp per day. not kidding
And yeah borax. 1/4 tsp, 8 Oz water, once per day
My journey with arthritis started years ago, when I was in my twenties. My grandmother had the same thing, so I was researching it hoping to help her as well.
Short answer is: Go carnivore, no carbs.
Cut sugar is 50% effective, but one must cut potatoes, pumpkin, sweet potatoes and grains also. (White rice is the only thing that can possibly be OK)
I dabbled with Keto (Animal products & green veg) and that made it a lot better, but there were still some niggles. - (I became sensitve to spinach, kale , chards, and carrots)
So animal products only for me.
Some peeps find they have to limit to beef and veinson only, but I am lucky, I can have yoghurt and eggs too.
I don't think I had/have arthritis but have just beat my body to crap. Went carnivore to lose weight and my back and shoulder pain disappeared (had on and off for 20 years). I do believe that breads and veggies were messing me up for a long time. Now it's meats, dairy, and eggs for me. Been almost a year and still feel great.
It is amazing in the first three months. My knee pain resolved partly because I lost about twenty pounds.
My buddy calls it the Grumpy Old Man diet. The really old father in the movie had a diet of eggs, bacon, beer, and cigarettes. Much like my diet kek
We have a local chiropractor whose office does blood oxidation treatments. They help reduce inflammation dramatically. $150/treatment. They suggest ten at about 1-2 a week. I know someone who stopped the chemo and methotrexate after these treatments.
First think about what you eat that may not be suitable to your body. For me it was nightshade veggies, dairy and gluten. More often than not, indigestible food escapes the digestive tract and settles in joints or erupts from the skin, our largest excretory organ.
Try the elimination diet. Make notes. Above all take it slow. Some offending foods, take longer than others to create issues.
I’m not going to authoritatively give you an answer, but try researching the link between arthritis and diet. I’ve never had arthritis, but I have dealt with other auto immune disorders and changing my diet helped me a lot.
I take low-dose naltrexone for an autoimmune condition. It has nearly completely reversed an osteoarthritic condition. The joints on my big toes were like a half of a golf ball in size. They are normal now. I still have aches and pains in some joints, but without the LDN, I'd be a cripple.
LDN is also useful for rheumatoid arthritis, as I recommended it to a family friend, and it has helped her greatly.
I get some black pepper extract and turmeric gummies and it's very good for my arthritis and inflammation.
From. Darren Schmidt has some great root cause stuff on arthritis causes as well if you're looking to get a deeper answer.
Here is my post about results of Borax and arthritis.

Hey thank you for this. Very convincing. I am trying to convince my father to use it. He is kind of brainwashed and scared of putting anything in himself although he is on a bunch of pharmaceuticals.
He has type 2 diabetes so I am wondering if this is an issue.
What brand of borax did you use?
I have had arthritis for over 25 years and the pain does get excrutiating. BUT last year we decided to invest in the RIFE machine and it has been wonderful. The only problem is - it does NOT cure anything BUT it keeps the pain at bay for a few days and then you do the treatment again. I use it for arthritis and sciatica and hubby uses it for COPD. It is all based on vibrations! I love it, but again it is expensive. So sorry. We paid around $1000.00 for it. There are several videos/reviews about it on Brighteon but you can get info from their website. https://rifedigital.com/

Anti-fungal protocol with NAC. Not easy but does the trick. Die-off can be tough, reduce oregano.
Osteo BiFlex is over the counter. One in morning, one at bed. I combine this with a CBD soft gel from CVSciences.com.
dehydration including blood pressure diuretics can cause joint pain
low electrolytes/low potassium (see diuretics)
low blood sugar (from leptin/insulin/sugar swings)
MSM works pretty well for mine Powdered works better
MainStream Media?
Dang, I am trying to find a previous post where someone talked about a concoction they made with lemons for rheumatoid arthritis. I thought I saved it so I could pass it along to a friend of mine with RA, but not finding it.
thanks for posting this. really appreciate the suggestios.
lotta good research on RAW UNFILTERED honey...must be raw and unfiltered, to keep all of the benefits...works for me, and for some older big dogs in my care, who have hip issues...good luck, and God bless...i would agree with the suggestions here about ivermectin, as well...and one more thing to try: zerowater brand of filtering pitchers, can get from amazon or mfg, takes out ALL total dissolved solids...i was shocked to test tap water, bottled water, my well water, and even my fridge filter water all registered HUGE numbers of TDS...
