It’s been 2 years of demonic depredations interspersed with two years of “ok, wait, the fuqisthat?!?” It’s all SO awful, and SO weird.
So, is there something like a Wiqi page setup that we all can use to qrowdsource stuff like this?
I love the precision in communication that the robustness of the English language permits; and I agree with your agreement that “janky” is indeed an apt descriptor for a unholy collection of deviants that pretends to be a Presidential Administration, but steals luggage from airports to cross-dress in and rolls around in a poorly-maintained fleet of decrepit rental cars.
This list obviously has great detail and insight from PP’s specialty, but the full list of inexplicable bizarreness surrounding this surreal residency would be multiples this length, even including the early-days oddities like the gratuitously superimposed boom mics and the Marine One helicopter that unmistakably read “United States Qf America”.
Any one of these, any ten, could be explained away as “oh, it’s just a random lighting quirk”, or “just an A/V glitch”, or “the Marines lost count of their shots”, but collectively, it’s just been non-stop surreal hyper-weirdness for two-years, and I’ve never seen anything even anywhere close to this before. Nobody has.
Probably the same reason the “secretary of defense” had to work it out with commercial airlines to get people out of Afghanistan instead of using military planes.
So when the President flies from Washington to say Los Angeles, California for an event do you imagine the Secret Service grabs two dozen agents* and tosses some Red Bulls in a cooler and drives 2700 miles across the Country to meet the President there and then drives 2700 miles back to DC? Or is it maybe more likely they rent where they're going and just fly the Beast?
Also, the agency did rent golf carts to protect Trump multiple times.
yes, I know in reality you'd probably toss them on trucks not driven by agents, but I went with a more absurd example because the thought of the Secret Services behaving like road tripping frat brothers seemed amusing to me.
They actually do rent them. I was in Bill Clinton's motorcade around 1999 and we rented them from a car rental in Beverly Hills. These were white vans though but still...they were rented.
