In New Jersey, this is not legal

The New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act (“CFA”) states: “a person selling or offering for sale goods or services at retail shall not require a buyer to pay using credit or prohibit cash as payment in order to purchase the goods or services.” N.J.S.A. 56:8-2.33(a).

I was in a Walmart and there were no cash accepted registers for self checkout. I asked about that and then they opened one for me. I think companies know this is not legal but they just try to get away with it by seeing if people will just not notice.

Not true. Merchant does not need to provide service or product to you. At restaurant I am at now you must use credit / debit to pay before getting food. If a restaurant wants payment after you eat you are now in debt to them and cash is now able to be used. Specific states appear to have legislation to protect its citizens from this bullsh!t.

"At restaurant I am at now you must use credit / debit to pay before getting food."

You must be talking about a fast food place with a window. If it is a restaurant where you are seated, I would never pay first. The experience, the mood, character, quality, tone, atmosphere all is eliminated. It's counterproductive.

So this restaurant you are at now requires you to pay for your meal up front?

It's called fast food. Barely qualifies as a restaurant.

Wow, I don’t know if any sit down restaurant with wait staff that makes you pay for a meal up front. I wonder how waiters/waitresses do on tips. Do they automatically take out 15% for tips? I would not patronize an establishment like that.

Sort of like human medical experiments without informed consent is also illegal?

Weird.

And yes. Winn Dixie in Florida has the 2 cash and 2 card check outs. It’s slow behavioral modification.

Forcing someone to use a private company to transact for goods is illegal.

The most recent California giveaway based on your tax return came in the form of a debit card. I took it to my credit union where I have a credit card and asked the teller to just apply it all to the balance. She asked me if I knew how much was on it and I did. She then told me that anything over $500, it had to be taken out in two different transactions. And of course, a fee was charged. I looked more into it when I got home. Not only did the state pay $25 million to a third party to get the program up and running, the third party got a Bank in New York to distribute the funds. (Um, we do have banks based in CA.) But it was irritating. Also, if you are collecting unemployment in CA, they now give you a debit card, issued by BofA

Like you said, behavioral modification. (And when you are "bad"....)

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– ILoveIvermectin 2 points 3 years ago +2 / -0

So it benefits our financial overlords to have people on public assistance because the funds will be distributed by banks and visa thus generating fees.

▲ 1 ▼
– SoMuchWinning45 1 point 3 years ago +1 / -0

If someone doesn't like something you say, they'll probably tell BofA to restrict the card.

Out here in downunder, a lot of places used have the "No cash facility" signs. Now they are all gone and they put up a sign "Cash welcome". I asked the ladies behind the counter at one of the physio place that did this, and she said "We realised it was not a good idea. Cash is king".

There was another cafe where they have been pretty redpilled. The boss got all the workers mask exemption right in the beginning of the plandemic. They always welcome cash. I got to talking to the guy and the girl about cash and I was so happy to start gushing out about how WEF will never get their cashless society, and Russia is using gold currency and are going to screw the Globalists and on and on. It was so nice to watch

Gonna try this as those gas stations that claim not to accept any bill larger than a $20

I kinda understand that one. They don't want a bunch of cash in the registers for the crooks to grab. I believe if you buy $50 worth of gas and pay with a 50, they'll accept it and feed it into their mini vault that clerk does not have access to.

Heres an interesting article on the topic, from 2017.

https://www.outsidethebeltway.com/what-happens-when-a-business-wont-accept-cash-for-payment/

.

Another good one, this from 2018.

https://www.expertlaw.com/library/consumer-protection/it-legal-refuse-cash-payment

.

These are 5-6 years old so I don't know if there's been any changes in the legal arena that would affect cash payments.

Isn't this illegal though? Isnt one of the very first things instituted by government is a sovereign currency and a mandate that all businesses must accept said currency as legal tender?

Wasnt this challenged and won when people tried to pay their gov. fines with pennys. When the court case happened, it was deemed that they had to accept the pennys as they were legal tender.

Shortly after and completely coincidentally pennys started to be removed from circulation.

Few years ago, we took a vacation to a dude ranch in Montana. Small family place. When it came time to settle the bill, the owner gave the option to write a check and if I did, she gave a small 5% discount. She said the previous year, they had paid $19K in fees to Visa for the privilege of using their services.

▲ 3 ▼
– Grady_Wilson 3 points 3 years ago +3 / -0

I was going to say, any business that refuses cash and moves to only credit card transactions will burn through that $10k 'bonus' in a hurry and will turn their business into a cash cow for Visa.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– Hellann 2 points 3 years ago +2 / -0

Yep, 3% usually. A lot of small businesses will tell you they prefer cash due to the fees they pay, or they pass those costs on to the consumer in higher prices or their own fees.

I can see where VISA has a vested interest in this. They make a surcharge of some percentage on every transaction. They make something when you pay for the product or service, and again when the seller moves money to their account, and again when the seller pays his supplier.

VISA makes nothing when you pay cash; this is self-interest driven.

And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: Revelation 13:16 What's in your hands these days 80% of the time? Your Phone. Want to buy something? Use your phone. Instead of a credit card you just put the phone in your right hand and they sync up and the payment is complete. Everyone is conditioned now to use their phones or cards now to make payments. When the New World Order connects this to the Beast and his name, then you're in danger of Hellfire. But as Christians we will be Raptured up before this is Mandatory. And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Revelation 14:11 Because the Antichrist won't be revealed until the Church is gone.

Restaurants, food trucks, cafes better think twice. Many a patriot will stop eating out if that occurs. $10,000 is a drop in the bucket. Who is the one paying this out? Is it money from VISA or the government (taxpayer dollars) given to VISA to track us further? Think carefully before you succumb to this further control.

We are old school and never liked to charge meals. We never wanted a credit card bill at the end of the month to pay off stuff we no longer had..,

We always use credit to pay for our needs, while using checks or cash to pay for what we want. (Then when those needs arise we have plenty of credit to take care of the problem) đŸ‘©â€đŸ«

They can't implement their carbon credit schemes if they can't track your purchases. Since they can't track cash the only way to get you to play ball is to force you onto this system. It's about control and depopulation. If they can't kill you with the death vax they will try to starve you. You use up all of your carbon credits? Then they will force you to buy more at enormous rates. Carbon credits will be the new currency. Money without the credits will be useless. There will be TWO prices on restaurant menus. How much in electronic currency and how much in Carbon Credits. The bugs will have a very low carbon credit cost, of course. The meat will have an enormous carbon credit cost. That's what is really going on. This won't affect the wealthy hardly at all. They will just buy the carbon credits they need and eat steak while the rest of us eat bugs.

This has happened a lot to me in the last few days. In the airport I tried to buy an iced tea and the young girl was gobsmacked I wanted to pay cash. I gave her exact change. Then at a Starbucks in Virginia the same thing happened. This time they said they had NO MONEY in the register to give change. Fine, I'll give you exact change. And at a restaurant in DC some lady wasn't receptive to me paying cash and so once again I gave exact change. Sick of this

I take out between $300 - $500 in cash every week from my bank. I pay cash for almost everything I buy. If a merchant doesn’t accept cash, I don’t shop at that merchant. The Chipotle restaurants in my area started accepting only cashless payments at the start of the plandemic and I refused to eat at those restaurant for over a year until they started accepting cash again.

This is very upsetting because I took care of an elderly woman who was my best friend. She became so confused with telemarketers called her saying things about her car or insurance. She had no clue and would just give them her checking number or a credit card number.

It was too the point she was in debt over 11K and her bank account was overdrawn. The local bank called me to let me know the situation. I had to take her to the bank, and she put me on her account.

From that day forward I took care of her bills and her checking account. She had to declare bankruptcy on the credit card. Even after all this the telemarketers would call, and she would frantically call me to say they are shutting down her insurance or whatever. I had a hard time explaining to her that I pay her bills, and no one should call her. If they do, they are trying to get card number.

Older people will not handle this well. Many can't even use a cell phone.

She had no credit cards at all after this. What was supposed to do if this was implemented?

This shit needs to stop.
