I never do this. But recently it feels like the whole world is falling all over me. My husband had a bunch of strokes last year which have rendered him disabled in several ways, one of the most prevalent being dementia/ amnesia. Think 50 First Dates. Because of that, i cant work. I have to be here for him most hours of the day. We've had no luck so far with disability, and now the hospital is after us for what his insurance didn't cover. Even paying our monthly bills is getting near impossible. So i guess I'm asking, if anyone has a moment, could you please put a prayer in for us? Life is tough already. It seems like it's worse every day. He's a ghost of the man I once knew, and now I have very little ability to pay for our very humble life. Not praying for a million bucks, just a chance to stay in the home we raised our kids and got married in, and the ability to keep the lights on. Thank you, and God bless.

Father God I am asking you to send you healers to this woman's husband, just as you have sent them to me. Send this woman your strength and your fortitude to keep going every day during her personal storm. Revive her! Fill her heart with your love to remove all the fear from her situation. Remove all the financial burden she is carrying Father God, replace your yolk with hers. In Jesus name I pray!

Had to add this. Before hubby had his strokes, he was a major gear head. Built all kinds of cool trucks from the ground up. Prepper type stuff...no modern gizmos. He had just(almost) completed one for our family...'85 dodge. Put a Cummins in it. It took two years, every spare moment. He built it out of 17 parts vehicles. I got to etch the back window. Wanna guess what he had me write on it in military stencil? WWG1WGA. all that's left to do on it is bumpers, taillights, and paint on the fenders. Beautiful truck, and it'll be his legacy, and a legacy to the great awakening. My husband is a true patriot.
AMEN.+++
Prayers said for your husband and you just now, and I've added you my daily prayer list. I'm also tagging u/Slechta56914 , the host of our Prayer Garden so he knows.

AMEN
Thank you to whomever stickied this....means an awful lot. I'm just realizing that I converse more in one hour in this place than I do in a whole week in the town where I live. I wish it were this easy to talk to people in the outside world. May God bless you all richly.
Thank you all so much. Tears here.
Fren, you say you are not having much luck getting disability, that is just insane, if you will message me I will give you the contact information for our disability attorney, who works via email and phone, in person is not necessary, he started working this way because of the scamdemic and it has worked out great. He already has gotten disability for a friend of ours and is in the process of the claim for my family member's disability (strokes) This at least will be a light at the end of a tunnel? God bless you. I hear what you are saying loud and clear. Working through things myself. Remember that Jesus Christ is your partner in all things!
Prayers on the way fren.
🙏 for you and I do not know how to setup a gofundme page, but GAW people if you know how to do please help this wonderful woman-I know nothing about the process and I did hear there are other funds that could be set up, I just do not remember them. Thank you. AM
We have a gofundme set up, actually. Haven't had much success with it thus far.
Do you have a link for your gofundme? Lots of folks here can get you more views.
https://gofund.me/429ab6d2
It shows a picture of hubby and me kissing
Also, ty for asking.
Who in the world is down voting you?? I will donate as soon as I can!
I'm also wondering how many users are on GA, if each of us gave a little, it would probably go far to help you!!
or at least clues for us to find you if you don't want it linked here.
Prayers for mercy, blessing and healing ❤️🩹 🙏
Prayers for your and your husband.
prayer said, fren. you will get through this, with us and God.
🙏
Disability will deny you several times before they approve it. They will pay you back payments from the date you originally filed for it. Hang in there, God takes care of us, stay positive. God Bless you and your family.
I'm trying. Bless you.
This isn't true. I got mine first time around with no attorney. It takes forever and you are close to losing everything before they come thru but they do. And usually the back pay has to be paid out to those that you borrow from to keep afloat. My husband recently got it too. Stage 4 cancer was approved (again 1rst time no attorney) in 7 months. Supposedly it helps to be over 50. God bless you @Godfirstbro_ ! Reach out if you ever need a shoulder.
Heavenly Father, please help this woman in all her needs. In Jesus' name, amen.
Where are your kids? Do they know your struggles? It might help your husband's memory to adjust his diet a little, by cutting carbs and increasing fat to make up the difference, adding a little MCT oil daily, vitamins B6 and B12, magnesium threonate (specifically that salt). These are the most helpful for least expense I can think of atm. No sympathy for the hospital as I'm sure they overcharged. They might have some ombudsman program. In some areas the utility companies have assistance programs. If you are on Medicare you might see if you also qualify for Medicaid due to loss of income. Don't be afraid to ask! Praying for angels for you.
I appreciate the advice and thank you...I've done alot to his diet....he has very little appetite and unfortunately with the brain damage came a rather large sweet tooth, so that's a challenge, but working on it. As far as medicaid, he's on it...they aren't wanting to cover the whole charge because at the time we had this scammer insurance company we found on the marketplace. We had no idea until he was already in the hospital. So we got screwed by them, and then by medicaid too. They don't like paying if they can get away with not.
Sometimes calling the hospital directly and explaining the situation will make them accept what they would’ve gotten from insurance instead of whatever they’re charging out of pocket. I don’t know if they’re allowed to do that if you did have coverage, but it can be worth a shot. I’ve heard of hospital billing administrators taking it upon themselves to find other funding for families in difficult situations.
They are very few and far between, but it may be worth seeing if a Frequency Specific Microcurrent practitioner thinks he or she could help your husband, and if they could do it at an affordable rate. It has done wonders for my nervous system after a TBI. Low dose naltrexone also helped tremendously.
Will be praying for you and your family. So sorry you’re going through so much.
Yes, if you haven't already, call hospital billing and any other medical institutions billing departments you owe money to and explain the bills are creating a hardship. They will ask you to prove how, like tax statements, income, bills, etc. And if you can prove a financial hardship, they should lower or remove completely how much you owe. You'll have to prove financial hardship. Also see about food stamps or churches in the community that have food pantries, if you haven't already.

🙂 Pie is a good sweet to skew the carbs toward fat, since most of the calories are as the fat part of the crust. Dementia patients do like sweets, like ice cream which besides not being very nourishing often has additives that cause problems. You can make substitutes by blending fruit like bananas or strawberries with milk powder and ice--lots of recipes out there. The point of increasing fat is to provide more energy to the brain. As to the insurance companies and Medicaid, they don't want to pay, they also don't want to incur costs in nagging you. Every letter or call is taking some employee's time and that is reducing their return. Maybe you will find a way to use this financial fact. God bless.
Thank you. Also I've noticed chocolate has become a thing. He always hated it. Since the strokes, he craves it all the time.
There is also quite a bit of research of using and giving organic cold pressed coconut oil to help with dementia, meaning it either stops its progress, or gives back some functionality. Organic, cold pressed Coconut oil is also absolutely wonderful for the body in general, a great healer.
You can cook with it, and then also take it orally up to twice a day a tablespoon each time. But you have to start small(1 tsp) and work your way up to that. He may feel a little poorly as the healing effects of the oil kill bad bacteria and candida overgrowth, which may be the result of his cravings. He may have a gut imbalance due to the stroke.
In any case it’s worth a try, it may help with his cravings, and dementia, and overall health. God bless you and your struggles, I am so sorry and have been praying for you. I’m glad you shared all of this with us, I hope it’s making you feel better.
🙏
Prayers up.
It’s ok to reach out in here to fellow anons. We are here for you. Prayers going out for both you and your husband.
Prayers for you both!
Lord, please give this beautiful family the grace of Your healing and give them the strength to battle these obstacles before them. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
Prayers sent.
Get him on the carnivore diet. If he has had strokes, he is eating too much sugar (carbohydrates) and not enough animal fat. Meat and eggs are the ticket.
Stop paying the medical bills, and take charge of your financial situation. Read this, for starters:

Best wishes.
Thanks and bless you. I'm trying. He doesn't like the same stuff he used to, so it's hard. It's basically like making a toddler eat broccoli with him lol
Heavenly Father, we pray, grant this woman the strength to endure the hardships that have come to her family, take away her fear so that she may see your Love, keep her secure in her home and let her and her husband receive mercy and blessings, remove the barriers in their way, and give light and clarity as she works with you by her side, always. Fulfill her needs in the name of Jesus Christ, sustain her Faith, and give her the Grace to seek your Kingdom, so that all good things will be granted unto her. Amen.
Thank you. Lord bless you.
I just read he had a sweet tooth. Put him on some candida cleanse or oregano oil. The sugar is sure to be helping his ailments.
Lord, im not one to pray much so please take my words as genuine. I pray for provisions for this woman and her husband. Give them what they need financially, spiritually, with a strong mind and body. In your Holy name we pray, Amen.
Thank you!
Stay strong. Prayer sent.
Trying! God bless ya.

SSI is set up like a game to intentionally frustrate people so that people don't see it as free easy money. Here's how to play.
Apply as soon as you get anything from a doctor saying the person is disabled. You will be denied. Damn near everybody gets denied the first time. And it takes months. 12 months; 13 months - that's normal.
As soon as you receive the denial apply again immediately. That very day if you can. If you wait too long you are starting that first year all over. You will be denied again but this time it'll take about a month.
Then get a lawyer and apply again as soon as possible. There are lawyers who specialize in this. They will take their percentage but they will get you a pay out going back to when you first applied.
There is a difference between SSD and SSI. SSD is based on work credits and SSI is based on finances and long-term disability.
Dear Fren,
It can be hard to look for help when it seems you’re facing disaster (believe me, I know!) Primal survival instincts kick in and powerful emotions (fight, flight, freeze, fawn) hijack one’s ability to think. I pray that God, who indeed is First, calms your spirit so that you can observe what’s going on rather than be damaged or defeated by it.
You are so brave to present your situation to us and ask for prayers. Among the pleasures of prayer are the helpful thoughts that can flow forth from it, and I see much good advice and many helpful suggestions gathering here already.
My prayer for you is that you are able to evaluate the ideas this amazing community offers, select those that are to you and your husband’s very best advantage, and implement them with a clear head and a peaceful heart.
🧐❤️✝️🙏🏻
Thank you so much
Praying for you in this time of stress.
2 Corinthian 1: 3-4
Stress is definitely a great word for it. Thank you.
Your name said it all. We pray for you, sister.
Blessings, love and strength being sent to you and your family!
Is there any chance your husband has/had any short or long term disability coverage at his work? Or possibly as a rider on any of your policies anywhere?
Lord, I pray that your peace would wash over this daughter of yours, and that you will give her new insight into how she can handle payments and needs with finances as you open up doors for her. I pray you will put it on the heart of those around her to offer help, and I ask you God to give her your strength to lean on as she trusts in you. Amen.
He had nothing, unfortunately. About 20 yrs ago he quit his job to stay home with my 4 young daughters so that I could work. Part of the prob with disability. They aren't wanting to pay out because his job history has a big hole in it. It doesn't help that I'm just absolutely retarded with understanding this kind of thing. He was the genius in our house. I'm just kinda floundering now. Thank you for your prayers.
there are people who help you fill out the SSDI paperwork. they'll get a payment if your husband is approved; it's a certain percentage of the disability backpay that accumulates as soon as you start the process.
I'm fairly skilled at such things, and I still chose to have someone help me with the paperwork, heard it expedites the process.
I think you'd look for a disability advocate in your area.
We have a disability lawyer....it's been in the works since Jan. Just alot of waiting and Dr's appointments and proving this and that.
A social worker filled out my sister’s application. She was too disabled to do it herself. Have you visited any of the services available in your town? (Also, at each one you talk to, ask them who else they’d recommend for next steps.)
Yes most. We've done alot of hunting around, very little result unfortunately
Prayers going up! If you have time to work from home some, I have a list of some resources to look for remote work if you're interested. Might not work for you, but I thought I'd put it out there for you. Happy to send if needed.
Yes ty
Okay, here's a good starting point for you.
https://weworkremotely.com/remote-jobs/search - Under the Categories option at the top of the page, you can choose to see whatever catagory you're interested in.
https://www.thepennyhoarder.com/wfh/ - This site is a great resource. They used to vet the job postings too. Not sure if they still do, but I can't imagine not.
https://www.flexjobs.com/remote-jobs - Love the layout of this site because it makes searching specific categories super easy.
https://powertofly.com/jobs/ - This site tends to be more heavy technical and IT roles, but there are customer service and sales options to check out.
https://www.ziprecruiter.com/Jobs/Online-Remote - Make sure to choose the fully remote option versus in-person remote.
You can also search Indeed for remote work - just enter remote or telecommute in for the location, then add the type of job to the search. Craigslist is usually more scammy stuff than legit remote jobs, so please be careful there if you choose to use it.
Hope this helps a bit! I'm also more than happy to review your resume if that's also helpful. I'm a COO and have managed HR depts for years.
Would love to hear how you're doing later and if you were able to find some work. Please keep in touch.
Prayers sent. God is always good. We don’t always understand how sometimes but it doesn’t change that fact.
Prayers for you
Ty
Dear Lord, hear my prayer.
I ask you dear Lord to look kindly on GodFirstBro and her husband and provide them with strength, patience and freedom from their fears, needs and wants. I pray to you to provide for them, let them find ways to pay off their debts and provide food, warmth and fill her soul with your ineffable kindnesses and peace, and heal her poor husband.
I pray this in the name of the Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Thank you so much hun
You will be in my prayers.
