They never put it to a vote, like, are the inhabitants ok with this change?
Mississippi didn't bother to ask anyone, Nikki Haley didn't ask when she took down Dixie in SC,......I presume NO Americans in MN were asked.........
I would just fly the old one.
Whatever that new thing is, its shit. Commie, Middle Eastern shit. Its fuggin obvious as it gets. There isn't one single fiber of American or Minnesotan tradition anywhere on this rag.
I think there's a name for this...........its called "conquered"
Utter complete Bullsh1t Minnesota. You’re the first state of the Amafrican continent. Now if you want to pull that insane Bullsh1t succeed from the Union legitimately and then change under your own government. You wouldn’t last a day unless you begin pirating every truck that crosses north and south.
Looks like the plan to divide and conquer. Another first on Biden’s accolades.
So I thought this was a BS shitpost, but then saw a bunch of MSM coverage about it.
So there's a commission that selected this, but to any Minnesotans in here: is this actually scheduled to really happen, or is it just some stupid commission and PR thing?
Yep. This isn't BS. Scheduled to happen. Not sure when in 2024...but the great seal of Minnesota state flag will be retired. Been in papers last month as they worked their way through entries. Most people's response has been "why are we doing this?" and "Who's stupid idea was it to do this?" Current flag had a farmer on it and an American Indian riding horseback. Some white person decided the American Indian riding on the flag was insulting to Native Americans rather than honoring their history within the state. Now our flag will be some generic milque toast crap.
The Navy is a color broadly associated with Minnesotan identity, the white stripe symbolizes our winters/snow, the green stripe symbolizes the beauty of our nature and the importance of agriculture to our state, and light blue represents the significance of water to our state.
yea I ain’t buying that. The star is kinda more reasonable but still….
In navy is the abstract shape of Minnesota. A white northern star represents our state's motto: L'etoile du Nord, meaning “star of the north”, and also represents a symbol of unity above a land of diversity. The three colors on the right signify important aspects to Minnesotan history and culture: the white stripe symbolizes snow; the green stripe represents the beauty of our nature and also the important role agriculture has played in our history; and the light blue stripe represents the significance of water to our state, each as the land of 10,000 lakes, the birth state of the Mississippi River, and the origins of Minnesota’s name –which came from the Dakota language– and translates to “a place of sky-tinted water.” Overall, I wanted the design to be very simple while also symbolizing the various important aspects of our history, cultures, and people. -- https://www3.mnhs.org/serc-finalist-f1953
There is no unity. Here in Australia, I sat at my son’s primary school graduation last week and the left half was all Indians and the right half was what’s left of white Australians. No mixing. No interaction. Polite, but not assimilated.
Here are a few of the different meanings of 8 pointed star:
Christianity: In Christianity, the 8-pointed star represents rebirth or resurrection. It is sometimes called the Star of Redemption or the Star of Bethlehem, and is associated with the birth of Jesus Christ.
Islam: In Islam, the 8-pointed star is called the Khatim Sulayman or Seal of Solomon, and is associated with the biblical King Solomon, who is considered a prophet in Islam. The star is also believed to represent the unity of the seven days of the week with the day of rest, which is Friday in Islamic tradition.
Alchemy: In alchemy, the 8-pointed star represents balance and harmony, as well as the four elements (fire, water, earth, air) and the four qualities (hot, cold, wet, dry) that were believed to make up all matter.
Native American culture: In some Native American cultures, the 8-pointed star is associated with the morning star, which is the planet Venus. It is also sometimes used as a symbol of protection or guidance.

Excerpt from link: “They’re watering down the history, they’re watering down the significance, so they could slap it on a hat and slap it on a T-shirt and make a couple bucks,” said Chad Saunders, an organizer of the opposition to the new flag. “That has nothing to do with pride
hey ummmm I don't like the new flag but I will say the old flag kinda sucked. I do think the new design has potential and actually looks better but i can't ignore the similarity either. just saying it's a mixed bag for me since it doesn't really change anything imo until we fix our elections
also I do recommend watching these vids as this youtuber actually does a pretty good job of ranking state flags and why this new flag design isn't really that bad tho.
CGP Grey did a recent video about the new Minnesota flag.
they are stealing our culture one bit a time... just like Europe.. .they've infected each country, bit by bit... until the countries are no longer recognizable...

I am from Minnesota and this is the first time hearing of this
Same. Oofta.

Minnesota used to have the blondest of blondes
Because that's where Swedes went.
Now, like Sweden itself, it became africanized. Diversity! Strength!
Kind of ironic/funny actually.
Mall of America is basically Mall of Somalia. If you go to it's indoor park, about 90% of the people in there are Somali's.
In the good old days.
Unfortunately those blonde Swedes were socialist loving Dems
Just one more reason to move out of this liberal hell hole.
I live in MN and I will never respect their flag! I think a lot of Minnesota’s sheeple are starting to wake up…..hopefully we outnumber the Muslims!
I'm in MN too and we're gonna see a huge resurgence of old flags believe me.
I'm about to buy one and hang it on my balcony
I just bought several myself
That's an excellent idea!
Same here

Thanks for filling me in. Wow, that mind virus is deeper into the country than I ever thought. What a load of bull.
This is the first I've heard of it, but nothing would surprise me when it comes to the political leaders in this state.
somebody needs to ask exactly what it represents . colors are for????

We do 5-point stars on flags, money, etc. in this country. Occasionally you'll see a 6-pointer.......
I can see, even in the rejected flag ideas, someone was BENT on having an 8-point star for some reason.......

Perhaps they should instead follow the direction of what formerly were known as the "Minnesota North Stars".

This is not a new thing and it looks like other states are changing their state flags also. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2023/08/17/us/us-state-flag-design.html

Yeah quite a few states punted and just went with state seals on blue fields...
At least those seals represented something positive....

CGP Grey did a recent video about the new Minnesota flag.

Don’t miss his previous video where he graded the flags of all of the states. It’s a hoot. In it, he graded the old Minnesota flag dead last.

I'm more surprised they didn't keep the star but use the tranny colours.
Isn't MN home of that mincing little tosspot Mayor Jacob Frey?
That POS is actually from Oakton, Virginia. A suburb of Washington, D.C.
Considering Virginia is right next to Cabal HQ, they’ve held out fairly nicely.
Isn't the governor from Kansas or something too? What's up with the outsiders fucking up the state?
West Point, Nebraska...
Unreal.
The flag in the post is not the flag that was the finalist from the contest. Directly from the article linked in comments.

I was just about to post this lol thanks fren
I do find it interesting that in this shot there are 17 flag poles.
https://youtu.be/l4w6808wJcU?t=9
I interesting they chose to use the Eight point Star which has nothing to do with Islam and more so to European then Asian use.
Mmm somebody enlighten me...
'cause that "star" looks like something that I have seen somewhere else before.
Wow.
I'm speechless.
Bud light Minnesota.
