I was a multi-gallon blood donor through the RC but no more. I stopped more than twenty years ago because of their corrupt management and the disgraceful way they handled blood donations post-911. They burned thousands of units of out-of-date blood because they were too stupid to say "please defer your donation for a couple of months, we have a surplus supply right now" as donors rushed to donate blood in the aftermath of 911.
I don't volunteer to have a large-bore needle thrust into a vein and pour out a pint of blood just to have it destroyed because of idiots at the top.
They are grifters just like just about every big donation heavy company out there. I have been boycotting them since 9/11 when many questionable practices were exposed.
My Pop was a WWII vet and the three things he hated the most about his service were officers, the VA and the Red Cross. He told me that the “ donut dollies” charged the GIs for a cup of coffee. The “sallies” (Salvation Army and yes, I know they’ve gone woke) gave away sweaters, socks and coffee for free.
My grandma gave a lot of money to a variety of charities. But she warned me about Red Cross. surprised me at the time, as i had heard nothing but good before that. But ever since she warned me, ive been watching Red Cross more carefully.
Side note: why do they need so much blood? I know lots of people who donate lots of blood, but how many people do you know who actually needed blood?

However I do want to point out that whoever this person is that posted the letter didn't provide any proof showing the volunteer was terminated due to conservative beliefs. We have no idea what went on, which is why I'm always careful with these boycott campaigns. If it is true they need to give sauce so it will actually show what is happening and change minds for good. Otherwise this will only change the minds of people who will believe anything on the internet. Then they will move on to the next "thing" and forget this one.
