But where is the sauce on this testimony?? I have been scouring everywhere looking for any bit of news to corroborate that he was set to testify or even appear in court at all. Nothing.

Why would he be testifying about insider trading? If he was suspected of it, he would be testifying. Congress made themselves exempt from those laws.

Thompson was the target of a insider trading investigation because he himself made millions doing the same stuff. How his testimony would impact literally anyone other than himself is not at all clear.

I think Nanzi would not "dirty" her hands but hiring someone is not below her station. It would have to be through intermediaries as she wouldn't want this to have her involved in any way. These kind of people need to "keep their distance" from the wrong-doing. Except for all the treason and other type of wrong-doing they participated in.
Insider trading is legal. So ... i don't see how this is plausable.
