The pilot behind the dramatic Delta crash that flipped a plane upside down at Toronto Pearson Airport has been identified as 26-year-old First Officer Kendal Swanson. A Minnesota beauty pageant winner who completed her training just last April with under 1,500 flight hours.

🏛️ PANIC IN DEI 🏛️
I prefer 50 year old retired Air Force fighter pilots that could fly in their sleep.

It's not the flying part. It's the who do I trust way more in an emergency part.
That Canada pilot caused the emergency. Big difference. Didn't pull up, slammed straight into the runway.
Oh okay. I gave her too way much credit. I wasn't aware she caused it.
I'm still calling it that she panicked. Looked like the cross winds were causing the plane to roll. If she pulled up while rolled she'd move off the runway. Tried to get level before pulling the nose up instead of pulling up, leveling and either trying to rudder steer or abort.
Pulling the nose up obviously drastically reduces the rate of descent. She didn't have the time to not pull up the nose.
It's the landing part that matters.
I’ll book seats on that plane. Are drinks and meals included? Non-DEI movies?
There used to be jokes about dumb blondes and beauty pageants.
"My ambition is to work with animals and children; oh, and to crash some planes"
So go work with animals and children!~
Welp, their were children on the plane. Eh... anyway
😂😂😂
Speaking of dumb blondes and beauty pageants:

OH MY! This is the dumbest dumb blonde I have ever seen or imagined!

Not finding a lot of information on this from reliable sources, does seem to me that the media is hiding information about this accident and pilot.
This isn't the best information but ...
Flipped Plane, Failed Training, Fatigue: What Went Wrong With Delta’s Toronto Landing?

Edit to add all the text from the X post that I forgot to add earlier...
The pilot behind the dramatic Delta crash that flipped a plane upside down at Toronto Pearson Airport has been identified as 26-year-old First Officer Kendal Swanson.
A Minnesota beauty pageant winner who completed her training just last April with under 1,500 flight hours.
The more experienced captain, James Henneman, was handling communications as Swanson piloted during the crash.
Mentour Pilot (7237 pilot/instructor) and Capt Steeeve on YouTube have made videos. MP shows it looks like they landed in a crosswind when something happened at touchdown and they didn't flare properly. Something caused them to roll right. This put the right wing on the ground and the plane filpped. The wing tore off. The fuselage rolled over on the left wing and tore it off. All the fuel was in the wings and they stopped in snow. So no fire at the cabin.
Ezra is generally reliably sourced. Some times, it takes a couple days for his sources to reveal though.
...I guess if one is destined to die in a plane crash...
...it would be comforting for your survivors to know that at least a pretty woman pulled the plug...
Sent this story to a Pilot friend of mine and he lost his marbles. He got super defensive and called me names. Finally, I told him, it's still legal in Canada to have a laugh. For now.
Sounds like he's got sand in his vagina.
Worries me that a pilot would react in such a defensive manner. We need pilots to stand up for their profession and industry, not cover for it.
That's how I saw it. Many Pilots are ex airforce. They paved the way for Women to join the Profession. Show some class and appreciation.
That’s how brow beaten Canadians are. He’s probably afraid that he’s being recorded at all times and that if he’s caught saying something negative about female pilots he’ll be fired for sexual harassment. We used to think such thoughts sound paranoid, but these days he’s probably right.
Na, I can tell you first hand that no one learned any lessons from the Snowden leaks, or even our own government shutting off access to bank accounts of protestors.
People here can't put two and two together.
Like, why all of a sudden our Prime Minister, who once said we have no culture here, is suddenly pro-Canada.
It couldn't be that it's just politically convenient because their ship is sinking and his ego is damaged by Trump.
No no, we must boo the US's national anthem.
That'll show those guys.
Fucking retards, all of them.
Worries me too. I want other pilots & flight crews standing up for the safety of their passengers! (and themselves), demanding experienced partners on board, with hours under their belt & hired on merit not sex, race, diversity or whatever the F#@&! Insanity!
I'll allow it. One updoot.
"Finally, I told him, it's still legal in Canada to have a laugh. For now."
...sounds like someone needs to get their knickers de-wadded...
Why did the guy have a meltdown?
He was defending women Pilots. I said it's not good form to take glee in not hiring Male Pilots. Then you crash. He missed the humour and I probably lost a friend.
No, you were trying to inform him, He decided to be offended. Remember they are getting propaganda pumped into their brains. Huff, huff, reeeeee.
Apparently, she only wanted to learn how to take off. Not to land.
Finally, they are forced to release the pilot's name. No surprise, inexperienced DEI hire. She dropped it hard on the right landing gear and broke it off, snapping the wing off and barrel rolling the plane. Not how they teach it in flight school.
"Welcome to Toronto, thanks for flying with Delta and we hope to see you again in the near future".
The crosswind induced a roll at touchdown. What happened next was too fast to remediate. I'm just curious...do you have 1500 hours in a twin-jet commercial airliner with associated landings?
Crabbed landings are no fun. The Air Force had to use special landing gear on the B-52 to allow the plane to crab while keeping the gear aligned to the ground track.
I believe but it’s still weird that the first time I ever saw a crash on landing like this, it’s a beauty pageant winner. Don’t mean to judge but vs military and fighter pilots, I’ll “lean” for the military pilots vs a beauty pageant winner every time.
There's a first time for everything...though it is pretty clear that if the pilot was a white male, he would have gotten a pass. (Being a beauty pageant winner is less important than whether she was right- or left-handed. And that is less important than her instructor rating at the end of training.)
Do you want a fighter jet military pilot or a cargo/tanker military pilot? I would stay away from the fighter jocks. Especially Navy carrier pilots, for whom landings are already controlled crashes. Be careful what you wish for.
So far, the news indicates that the Captain (who was monitoring the flight) had served "in pilot-training and flight safety capacities," and the First Officer (who was flying the plane) "has the highest-level pilot certification in the U.S." https://nypost.com/2025/02/22/world-news/delta-faces-lawsuits-over-toronto-plane-crash-after-offering-passengers-30k/
Looked to me like the back wheels snapped off on touchdown
Yep. I think that was mentioned in some of the news coverage. They got a transverse load vector they weren't designed to handle. The thing about landing in a crosswind is that the plane has to angle into the wind in order to maintain a heading down the runway (crab angle), which means the landing gear are not facing the correct direction relative to the ground motion, and just at the moment of touchdown, straighten out so that the runout is along the runway centerline. But almost simultaneous with that, the roll caused the right wingtip to contact the ground, with associated force loadings on the landing gear (and a subsequent tumble).
nice explanation thanks
Try landing on pavement in a tail dragger in a crosswind! I got my tailwheel endorsement in 1991, and I consider it on par with getting the private license. It was like having to start over.
! ! !
Any tranifesto?
From the comments, she does not meet the requirements to be a pilot in command, she had a restrictions on her FAA license.
But she is hot,so she looks good in their commercial......
I will posit that this crash and the fallout is not only a good thing, but a wonderful thing.
-Abject DEI hiring exposed.
-An airline whose identity revolved around DEI and gender discrimination rather than competency.
-Delta and Endeavor are going to pay out the ass to the passengers.
-More of the public woken up to the dangers of DEI.
-And thank God, nobody died.
This is a wonderful thing in that I have little doubt that it's going to change hiring practices, the general public is going to scrutinize airlines much more closely and it's going to save lives in the future.
Didn’t airlines also fire pilots who wouldn’t get vaxed.
She doesn't look that 'beautiful'
Have you seen what passes for a stewardess nowdays?
Have you seen what passes for a woman nowadays?
Noticed a lot more gay ones. Did they used to have standards for stewardess like they had to be pretty? I'm not old enough to remember
United Airlines Stewardess Qualifications (1968) Females only Age: 21-27 Height: 5’2”- 5’9” Weight: Proportionate to height but no more than 135 lbs. Education: High School graduate Vision: 20/40 or better without glasses Work Experience: 3 years public contact experience Must be unmarried. No children. (Widow or Divorcee will be considered but must not have any children.) Must be attractive, have no blemishes, have a pleasant personality, hair neatly groomed (must be natural, no colored hair) and must be no longer than shoulder length.
Apparently the captain thought so, he was the one that gave the unexperienced DEI hire the controls in landing the plane...Wonder if the wife knows about his co-pilot?
Did she ever land fast.. like.. straight down.. no stopping.. smash..
I'm no pilot but did anyone else think the plane was coming in a little fast?
Lucky they were coming in with the tanks mostly dry.
I'm going to be real and direct about 2 things:
It's a cover story.
Its bait.
Please don't fall for it again.
DEI hire?
Why was the guy recording it in the first place? Seems odd to happen to be there recording THAT landing. Who just sits on cold runways recording planes?
Probably the same kind of people who film trains going by. Everybody loves something!
You would be surprised how many plane spotters there are out there! Who am I to judge over other peoples hobbies?
Oh Luceeeeeeeyyyy ! You got some 'splainin' to do...
I read that the airline reported that the pilot was male and copilot female and hired in 2024.
From the post -
Thanks, I missed that.
Well, they say any landing you can walk away from is a good one
I wonder if whoever coined that phrase had flaming upside -down landings by chicks in mind.
She just needs just a little more flare! Capt Chancre here 2300 hrs no fatals!
She landed the plane the way she parralel parks her car...
What! I never saw this coming! lol
Unfortunately even the anti-feminists still believe in women doing men's activities, like flying and voting. Our feminine ancestors would have been appalled.
The collective shock of GAW at this information is so substantial that it cannot even be measured.
Landing hard on one wheel is never a good choice
More accidents occur at takeoffs and landing. It requires a cool head, calm and experienced pilot. Young women tend to be emotional, not sure if that was the case here. Sounds like she didn’t have enough hours in the air.
Only the young?
No, not just the young, but with age comes more maturity.
Women ☕
This looks like mechanical failure, the landing was not excessively hard, and the wing seperated on landing.
I worked with test pilots for 25 years. Amongst the best in the world. In all those years, there was only one female. I remember talking to my son about how strange that seemed and he claimed that men's tensile (right word?) reactions are quicker. That's the reason they are better race car drivers and at video games.
Honey, I'm sorry about the plane. It should buff out.
Per airman registry only rated for VMC = visual meteorological conditions is an aviation flight category in which visual flight rules flight is permitted
"unmanned" flights dangerous
SLOGAN: Our pilots are certified pussies.
Crude but effective.
Shocking. /s
So… she’s not qualified to fly a commercial airliner. Got it.
She shouldn't have had the stick for that landing.
