They were chem trailing (aerosol injection) like a motherfucker to trap the moisture and send it South, and this is what happens every time. They do this on purpose.
^ this. A massive storm like this in December? I call bullshit. This wasn’t natural at all. A tornado was on the ground for over two hours, started in Arkansas, and ended up in Kentucky, and it smashed the all time wind speed record ever recorded. The last wind speed record was on the may 3rd 1999 Oklahoma tornado… this one was just measured at 304 mph with a mobile NWS unit. This storm is unlike anything anyone has EVER seen. Radar readings of debris being lifted upwards of 35,000 feet into the storm… It was consecutively on the ground for well over 230 miles. And many other states in the Midwest have random spots where buildings were completely demolished, by what appears to have been a tornado, but there were no reported tornados.
This is not a normal storm or normal weather behavior whatsoever.

Definitely agree that this is not normal, but nothing about the weather is normal anymore - anywhere on the planet. To put it simply, Earth is coming out of a warm period and returning to what is actually "normal."

I remember reading about weather seeding in the late '70s or early '80s. It was mentioned in Popular Mechanics in the '60s, maybe late '50s. I was staying with friends in a cabin, and we stumbled on a box of old PM magazines, and we read them until the weather cleared up. I used to wonder why it dropped off the radar.

Chem trails and weather modification are absolutely real, BUT...
Most of what you see in the sky is normal contrails produced by vortices coming off the wings of plane. How long they last depends on the weather. If high-altitude winds are blowing strong, they disappear quickly.
Winds blow at different speeds at different altitudes. From the ground it appears planes are flying at the same altitude, when in reality one can be thousands of feet above another.
Like I said, chem-trails are real. But when we explore these topics we need to stay grounded in facts and not get carried away.

Wind sheers can also damage buildings I'm. In ND where it's always windy, we have our share of tornadoes but I've never heard of any as bad as the storm

First time I made a prediction based on the amount I've seen in the sky, and we have bad storms coming with insane winds.

Regarding your question about the debris, this is just my guess. We were watching the weather coverage and they kept talking about a debris cloud. There was so much debris it was actually visible on the radar. It probably ended up dropping miles away.

Let's not forget this tornado was at night. A truly horrific scenario.
This happened about 3 hrs west of us. it was a very sleepless night. We had two tornado warnings for our county but other than about a very short bout of dime sized hail and heavy winds, we missed the worst of it. Didn't even lose power. So many have it far worse than us, prayers for all.
The ones at night are the scariest. Experience here in tornado alley.

So you can fall into the Pacific from an earthquake or get buried by a volcano. We don't have much in the way of bad weather here in eastern NC. Hurricanes give you days of warning so you can leave with your valuables if necessary. I haven't been evacuated because of a hurricane since 1955.

In KY this morning, our governor came on to talk about 50 fatalities. Those 50 fatalities came from a single candle factory where the roof collapsed. As horrible and heartbreaking as it is that anyone was injured or passed away, I'm confused as to why our governor came on to report it. Something about it is just really weird to me.
The alarm on my phone notified me of a tornado warning. Loud, scary alarm sounds and everything. But there was NOTHING going on outside. Even once the storm fully reached my area, there was almost no lightning, no hail, rain picked up just a bit, and even the wind wasn't that bad but on the news they reported 70+ MPH. As a kid I was taught by our local weatherman that tornado WARNING meant there was a tornado in the area, but there was no tornado in our area last night. Even a funnel cloud.
My Mom's phone had no alarm. My aunt's phone had a screwed up alarm that only popped up a banner but made no noise when it normally does.

I live in the general area of these storms and there were funnels. Two miles from me, as the crow flies, there was a touchdown and one fatality. December storms, while rare can and do happen. In 2010 on NYE, the temperature was almost 80 and there was a tornado that afternoon in StL, MO that destroyed an entire neighborhood. Certainly rare, but not out of the question.

Been petrified of storms my whole life. I know when it's actually pretty bad outside, and last night it wasn't bad at all.
And why were the alarms screwy? We never had a siren go off in my area. My aunt a county over did. My phone did an alarm, Mom's didn't, Aunt's alarm was delayed and had no audio. Our alarms get weekly tests. Why the screw up? Apparently either when this line of storms began, or with the line just before it, no alarms went off in the area where another tornado hit.
For the record, not saying there were no tornadoes at all. Just that the call on 'Tornado warning' in my area was totally unnecessary and unfounded. There were no funnels in my area, or just south of my area where my aunt lives.

If there was no funnel, why would there be a warning? Even if you look up 'tornado watch vs warning', it says a warning means "that either a tornado has been spotted or a radar has picked one up."
If radar shows no rotation and there's no funnel, why would there be a warning?

What I do struggle with is the wonky alarms that were not working and the warnings that were put out unnecessarily.
I've watched storms my whole life because they make me anxious. Last night was extremely abnormal both in that the storms/timing were unprecedented, the weather leading up to them was bizarre, and the warning system not working as it should.

It used to be called Pineapple Express a current of warm air extending to Hawaii and usually occurs in late winter or early November. Feb 1996 was a great example coming off of a snow/ice event or the Christmas Day flood of 1962 I think it was. Again a deep mountain snowpack melting from inches of rain and high freezing levels.
