Any airborne viral particles are so small they pass right through any mask! That's the medical part. I could make a legal precedence of the fact that my husband and adult daughter adhered to the mask mandates when in public and they still got Covid! And they were both vaxxed + 1 booster! My son and I wore masks, did not get any vaxx shot and did not get Covid. All living in the same house. Yes due to Covid, everyone working from home now.
These people will never learn the truth. I say let them wear their masks, get the boosters every 4-6 months and then we will see how many have adverse reactions and need medical care and/or prescriptions or chronic continuous therapeutics for the rest of their lives. I hate pointing this out every time someone makes this comment but the masks were never about blocking individual viruses. Viruses do not just float around in the air on their own. The masks block some percentage of aerosolized spit and mucus from infected patients, in theory preventing those particles from spreading as far and infecting others. Even if masks aren't 100% effective, they're not 0% effective because clearly some of your cough or sneeze is not going to make it through.

The masks only stop spit and mucus globules, not aerosols. Being polite about sneezing generally is an accepted preventive measure. Aerosols are much smaller than the weave of the masks. Besides which, in order to breathe at all, there has to be an airflow around the edges of the mask, both inhale and exhale. So, guess what? That's the path for any aerosols. Or your mask is to damn tight you cannot even breathe.
But let's say you have the all-tight mask and are maskingly perfect. You are still a dead goose, because you can be infected through the exposed corneas of your eyes. So, they also said you must wear GOGGLES. Of course, no one is wearing goggles. That is too hard a sell. So the mask is useless without goggles and therefore is only a PLACEBO. Who do we give patients placebos? Because they are PLACATED (thus the name). "Do something!" they say. Okay, take two of these and call me in the morning (or wear this useless mask).
Don't start defending masks unless you are willing to insist on goggles.
Well, potentially, a mask breeds microbes in its warm, damp fibers and potentially gives you pneumonia. So, yes, it does something.
If it does not protect the eyes...it is useless. If it cannot stop the flow of aerosols (and it doesn't), it is useless. All this nonsense about constructing a safe bubble around yourself is useless. Better to keep your vitamin C and D levels up, take zinc supplements, and have access to hydroxychloroquine.
You think there is a "science" about the masks? Then what is the performance metric? What number does it have and what does that number correlate with regarding risk of infection? You are not going to find it. The studies I have read end up as a push: maybe it works, maybe it doesn't. That's not science. That's wishful thinking.

Yeh, like there are any peer reviewed articles showing that masks have any efficacy, that the Covid shots provide any efficacy, like lockdowns help. If the U.S. along with scientists world wide didn’t lab create covid, people would never have let fear rule them into taking the shot (which is not a vaccine), and they would not be facing long term damage and death.
