Well akchually that 1.9 million was really 5.7 million.

After a thorough review we found that 5.7 was really 12.8 million overcounted.

Uh yes after much more examination it was 217 million. These things happen you know.

No a lawsuit is not warranted as these initial numbers were a result of the limitations of the technology.

SEC: "Agreed. Technology is always evolving and hurrrr ddurrrr fffffppt."

And there were actually only six people on Twitter, the same six people who went ot Biden rallies.

The reason I asked was because I've been collecting anecdotal evidence to support my theory regarding Twitter rolling back their algorithm to pre-May 11, 2020.

https://greatawakening.win/p/15HbuGYoJW/twitter-rolled-back-their-algori/c/

From what I've seen, those who were banned for wrong think after that date have had their access restored. Only those who harassed other users kept their bans.

I as a database developer can easily see that occurring. Sometimes when I write the most simplest of count statements I accidentally typo extra addittion signs and numbers...

Select count(*) + 1900000 as tot_users from active_users

Just leave out the where clause when you run a script updating the price of supposedly one item on the production box. I wasn’t the guilty party, but …. damn …. That was a craptastic afternoon.

Nothing like having every item in every store suddenly ring in at $9.99

That's known as fraud.

Fraud to entice advertisers to pay more for advertising to a larger audience that did not exist.

Fraud to manipulate stock prices to enrich the insiders.

The executives and directors could be facing prison time over this.

It is also not the first time they have admitted this.

If I ran a small business that operated a website and inflated my user numbers by 1.9 million to potential advertisers that would be the end of me and my company. Twitter does this and it is likely far worse than just the 1.9 million they admit to and what happens? Absolutely nothing and nobody cares.

Well, if you tried to sell it to someone for $44B and they found out about your lie during their due diligence, what happens is they've now got an option to back out of the sale contract and not give your shareholders $44B.

And then you get to enjoy a bunch of lawsuits from angry people, because not only did you manage to blow up the deal but you've also devalued the company so the stock is worth even less than before a random billionaire started throwing out twitter polls.

OK, The Plan:

Elon Musk threatens to buy Twitter. The Lefties go into paroxysms of loathing and the Twitter management scramble to remove all the lefty bias stuff they have installed like the bots, the multiple accounts, the post filters etc.

Then, after Twitter has been cleaned up and right before the deal is completed Musk announces that he has changed his mind!

Super troll!

considering the tendency to use California Math ... the figure will be 5.7-6 million probably. ....

Hay. Even in Cali we know how to spell 5-6-7. Just remove the period and flip the 6 & 7. Works every election. Periods are a racist and misogynist construct anyway.

Peace out!

Because twitter is (or was) full of bots, I used to tell people this all the time. It’s all fake, we’ve been gaslit to think the minority is the majority but as people are starting to realize (especially with Truth Social) WE’RE the majority.

Considering the timing of this news... Are we really expected to believe this was due to a technical error? An error that benefits Twitter's bottom line?

This is probably one of the easiest stories to call bullshit on.

This could trigger years of litigation from advertisers sueing Twitter for overcharging on advertising fees by mispresenting the views.

Kind of a DS way to stick it to a new owner in this situation.

If the deal falls through then backroom "deals" will make this a non issue but if Elon ends up owning it, they'll go after him for their money back.

My wife keeps asking me why is all of this coming out about Twitter. Musk doesn't officially take over for another few months. It must be part of the purchase fine print. Musk must know that Twitter has some shady practices, so is it possible that he added some stipulations that the company had to do in advance of signing the final papers people getting paid out?

That's funny. I wonder if lying about your company assets (i.e. users) is acceptable to the SEC?

Musk makes a little tweet about a buyout, and the SEC gets all up in his business. Seems like they are supposed to investigate stuff like that.
