I need, respectfully ask for, any of you that pray regularly to include my Daughter, Son in law and their baby. He was born 2 weeks ago, 6 weeks premature, and is still in the NICU. Overall, my grandson is fine but still having dips in O2 level or heart rate. Each time, they extend his stay 5 more days. It's really starting to beat them down and I'm praying they have the strength to withstand this and my grandson has the strength to overcome. My knees are worn out, I need help!
Praying for you and your family! 🙏🙏🙏. Please keep us posted.
I try to keep my personal separated here, but right now I need the support. I will keep y'all updated and thank you!!
Brother, we are here for you and yours. WWG1 is our slogan afterall, and most here believe in the power of prayer. This board has shared many results from this belief and I personally offer my own...
I totally understand how you feel about keeping your private life separate, fren. Sending prayers your way!
Lord, please help this baby, the most beautiful creation in existence, and and extend to him health and healing. Give the family the emotional strength and nourishment to endure these difficult times. Keep all of them in Your light. Amen.
Amen. Thank you!
Thank you and Amen. I've shared this with her, so she can see the love of God reaching out.
I will pray for the Little One and his loving family, but also for you and the hospital staff. 🙏🏻
Absolutely, the staff has been awesome for her. Thank you!
I'll join you in prayers. Falling down on my knees now.
Praying for you and family. 🙏
God bless you for this and your service! Thank you for it all, including my freedoms.
Thank you. This is my late husbands account. He was the Marine. I’m just trying to keep his spirit around by using it. And learn a lot, interact with other good folk on here.
Sorry for your loss. I’m sure he’s missed everywhere. Keep his spirit alive and fight on!
Just hang in there. don't let them medicos freak you out. In general, the nurses are OK though.
Your grandson will be OK, I promise you. Support your daughter, however, because this situation is very hard for mothers.
Trust in the system, but heart longing for closure. Thin line between this is what has to happen and what is wanted. Thank you for your support!
I went through all that and more. No one should have to, adding prayers for your family! Pls pray back for me.
[My son died in surgery that he was expected to survive easily. I have never been the same since.]
I feel your pain. My first grandchild was born and passed before 28 weeks. It's never easy, no matter the level of relation. We were there thru it all with the parents. I know they had it worse, but still left a gaping wound for us. God bless your son, may the Lord lift him to levels he would never reach with earthly bonds.
Prayers to you and yours for healing.
I am so sorry to read this. How long ago did this happen?
More than 30 yrs, you never get over it; the son who should have been here with and for me, was taken away.
I’m praying for you. That’s a hole that will never be filled. May I ask what happened?
That’s awful. I’m sorry to see that. I think I remember a post from you saying it was completely avoidable. It was supposed to be routine. Is that you? Either way, I’m praying for you.
Yes, it was a complete shock. Thank you so much for your concern and prayers!
Gracious, Loving, Heavenly Father, we lift to you Humbled1's daughter, son-in-law, and newborn grandson to you, our Almighty God who heals. We pray for them to be infused with Your strength and peace during this difficult time. We lift to you also his caregivers and thank you for your guidance upon them as they care for the little one's health. We also lift to you humbled1, and we thank you for your love, grace, strength, and blessings upon this family. We thank you, in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Amen, thank you!
Prayers that the medical staff caring for your grandson have the compassion and knowledge to give his body strength. And prayers for you and your family during this very difficult time.
They have been great, very supportive and informative. She isn't out of the loop on progress, just missing her baby. Thank you, and God bless!
That's wonderful to hear! My baby is 18 years old now but I would have been beside myself if I was separated from her when she was an infant. Please make sure your daughter knows that many people are praying hard for her little one.
We're on it, fren.
Really love this place and it's support. Thank you. Amen.
I've sent my prayers.
Thank you, God bless
Prayers on the way fren. I now have camel knees so am past caring.
Oh I feel that. God bless
My friends had a 2.9 oz baby boy and he did just fine after being in the nicu for about 2 months. He’s a 10 month old now and I saw him recently and is the happiest little dude with no delays or medical issues. So.. hopefully, that encourages you because miracles never cease and a lot of it has to do with the baby being able to feed properly. Idk any more details than what you offered but that was the case with my friend’s baby and they started letting other family members go sit with him so they could get breaks. Is that an option? I bet fatigue has a lot to do with your daughter and SIL and perhaps they need some R&R. But I will pray, as I did for my friends because it probably could be the most stressful thing. It seems you would feel powerless, at the mercy of the medical staff and all you want to do is be home as a family. Just remember, God is with them and holding that precious child tightly in His arms.
Nothing like the good vibes of a positive experience. Thank you and God bless
Praying for you! Our family has been there: a preemie daughter born 8 1/2 weeks early and did very well except also had her stay extended a couple times for bradys (dropping O2 and heart rate), just like your grandson. The second time happened the morning we were supposed to go home, and we lived an hour from the NICU. 😭 It was very difficult at the time, but we made it and your family will too. We were told that all preemies have SOMETHING—some function that still needs to mature—and our docs said they’d much rather see it be bradys (which clear up on their own pretty quickly) than feeding issues (which can take months to overcome/correct). I’ve seen a friend go through that: much longer stay than we had and went home with feeding tube. Our babies were similar age and size at birth. The rule of thumb is to expect to go home by the due date, so they’re still looking to be well ahead of that.
The NICU days are intense and very difficult, but they will be behind you soon and it will all feel like a dream. Our daughter is almost 13, and you’d never guess she was ever a preemie. God bless you all. Please keep the GAW fam updated! 🙏
We tell ourselves he is still cooking, just in a different oven. He's perfectly healthy, but Brady's keeping him in place. I'm certain he's in route home soon, just hoping they can withstand the journey.
It really is an amazing experience to see what CAN be for preemies now, though heartwrenching at the same time. The rollercoaster is the hardest part: having a date to head home and then it gets changed, no real ability to plan ANYTHING right now, all the pins-n-needles of dealing with the medical system, plus Mama is still recovering from birth--and most likely a more difficult one than anticipated. Support her all you can, as the hormone "crash" after a preemie birth is even harder on the body than the natural hormonal shift the body experiences during full term labor/delivery, esp if a c-section was involved. A strong over-the-counter bioidentical progesterone cream (available online) several times a day can really help with postpartum emotional issues that are likely to hit her after she finally gets home and has a chance to process all that has happened. Of course, do your own research on this (progesterone for postpartum depression). Of course as much rest as possible and excellent nutrition, too. They will withstand the journey--they have to!--but I have a married daughter, too (and first grandchild on the way!), and I know exactly what you mean about praying for their strength as they face the inevitable storms of life. The Lord will be faithful to strengthen them just as He has been for us older ones, but oh how we ache as we watch them struggle when circumstances are difficult.
When your children are born you cant imagine being able to feel more love and pride than at that moment. And then the grandkids come and you see your child with his or her child and you realize it is possible.
I Pray for all humanity every night. I will add a special prayer for your little one tonight.
Praying for the little one. 🙏 Our baby girl came 2 months early. Spent over 30 days in the NICU. It felt like forever before we were able to bring her home with all of the heart monitors and oxygen tanks in tow. It was a scary time. She’s almost 4 years old now. This time will pass and your grandson will grow to be strong and healthy by the grace of God. While he’s there it’s so important to have someone with him as much as possible. Human touch/presence is vital in this time. Hold him if you all can, talk and sing to him as much as possible. You and your family will get through this.
Thank you for your experience. I feel the positive outcomes are as important as the prayers right now. Positive vibes to keep hope thriving. Thank you, and God bless!
Sending prayers your way
Prayers on the way fren.
Thank you! God bless!
God Bless your grandson. I pray he will come through just fine.
Jesus, I trust in you. You know what to do. Amen.
Absolutely have the trust, but supporting voices are never a bad thing. Thank you, and God bless
Praying 🙏 for you and your family
I pray for you and your beloved family...I pray for all the staff that are attending your precious baby...and I especially pray for Grandma and Grandpa..give them endurance and strength in the midst of this confusion and insecurity. Lord I pray that you will give Mom and Dad the peace that passes understanding, knowing that you are in control...we give you thanks that the baby is in the good hands of the NICU doctors and nurses...and we ask this all in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior...Amen
Amen. Thank you!
We had a grandchild born a month early due to pre eclampsia and that was the tiniest little baby at about 4 pounds...but they catch up eventually...they just do tremendous things in the NICU...
Oh Lord take this child in your arms and heal him.
Praying for the healthy and progressive development of your grandson. May he grow stronger and more robust with each passing day, and may he be able to go home very soon. God Bless You All.
We lift up your precious grandson to the Lord. Dear heavenly father, please give this child a complete healing, and bring him home to his parents. We ask you to put heavenly angels around him, and to provide skilled and knowledgeable staff members to make the right choices. We pray that their Extension of the five day issue is not somebody being militant, but somebody who is trying to protect the child. We just ask you, and we know Lord, you brought this child into the world. You know his innermost parts. Allow his parents to embrace him and have a full life together in Jesus name amen .
I'm sure everything will be OK. You, your daughter and SIL should pray with your grandson out loud so he can hear you invoke God's healing power on him in the name of Jesus. Also that will bear witness to the hospital staff that you recognize Jesus as your Saviour and trust Him in all things.
I have said a prayer for this little one, for his parents and for you. Let your heart not be troubled. God is in complete control. It is we that lack faith. God bless you.
Praying the baby gets healthy and strong ❤️
Praying for your family. 🙏🙏🙏
Sending love from across the ocean!
This may sound strange, but see if the mom can go skin to skin with him as much as possible and have the nursing staff monitor his heart and O2 levels when she does. I know of a mom whose baby was also a preemie and every time the baby went to NICU (away from mom),her levels would also dip more but then when she went skin to skin with mom, their heart rates would literally sync up! It's the most amazing thing ever and this actually helped this little girl so much that she ended up leaving the hospital a lot earlier than expected! The cool thing was that the nurses actually picked up on it and asked her to keep coming back and it wasn't long before the baby's heart rate and O2 levels were sustained by themselves. I did a little digging to see if I could find anything written up about it and for now I just found this:
This article talks about it helping babies with actual heart problems, so I think there has to be something to it, you know?
I'm definitely going to pray for you all and the little cherub!
Edit: I found another article and this one actually says that skin to skin contact can do many things but the 2 that stood out...regulates baby's heart rate and improves oxygen saturation! https://www.unicef.org.uk/babyfriendly/baby-friendly-resources/implementing-standards-resources/skin-to-skin-contact/
I’m praying for your family. Please God, make this little boy strong and healthy. Please let him get out of the hospital soon. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
They'll be ok. Lord is watching over them.🙏
🙏🙏🙏 Praying for your family! In Jesus name, Amen!
