In other FBI files Comey is also spelled Corney. But if you were to read the files it looks like a different font was used and that font made COrnEY look like Comey. The r and n in Corney were pushed closer together so the two letters appeared as one. It looked like you were reading Comey. If you did a search for Comey you would get no results
This was done deliberately, so that FOIA requests would not find documents mentioning Comey.
Plausible deniability for future FOIA requests.

Got me, All I know is doing a search for Comey on the dept of Justice files will return no results. Q pointed it out so I don't see how that would make Comey a white hat. Why would a white hat want to hide anything?
If I was a White Hat govt operator, I would hide my files in plain site by misspelling certain key words to keep the [DS] from being able to do those keyword searches.
However, misspelling one person's name and only one person's name wouldn't hide very much, unless the [DS] really is that stupid and can't figure out how to do proper due diligence research.
For me, this is probably more of a sarcastic dig aimed at Comey rather than Durham and his team trying to hide anything from the [DS]. Hiding info on the multitude of Fed sites is almost impossible. Any word can be used in a keyword search.

Don’t know, he probably isn’t, but this was an attempt to cheat the search system. Someone was trying to hide Comey from investigators or perpetrators who were trying to find documents on Comey. Maybe bad actors were trying to find and remove comey information to hide it from white hats or maybe white hats made the change so bad actors couldn’t find and hide or change the classification to hide comey materials.
Right … but it is Durhams report. Why would Durham or his people (could be one of his people) want to corrupt the text like that?
Ever since then whenever I've seen COMEY in print I've checked to see if it might actually be CORNEY. I do the same if I read something with other words with an r and an n together. It rewired my brain.

OK, so this is another odd thing about this... search for "Comey" (with an 'm') and you get 1 occurrence. Search for "Corney" ('r') and you do get about 50 hits...
BUT!! ...in each case where it finds (Ctrl+F) an occurrence of "Corney" it is spelled "Comey" on the page.
How does a PDF document do that?
it's the font tricking you. it's not that hard to customize a font to make r + n look like m
Perhaps it has something to do with "kerning"... manipulating the space between characters to force the 'r' and 'n' together to appear as something else. Now that I think about it, you can do the same thing in Word... take any misspelled word, set the kerning to 0 in the desired letters, and then copy-pasta (or find-and-replace) that word throughout the document.
So it's established that it CAN be done, but the question now is "Why?"
damn, this is correct. I just copy pasta'd directly from the PDF doc into a text editor and even though it visually looks like "Comey" the characters are "Corney"

Zero kerning.
When OCR happens on a printed document, the computer will embed what it "thinks" the characters are. So it's metadata behind the scenes.
Also people can F around with that metadata and make "corrections" to the text if necessary.
I think it's scanned and there's an OCR pass done on it to provide the ability to search, etc, and that OCR has misstaken a "m" for an "rn". Try searching for "inforrnation" or "ernail", you get a few hits for those as well.

I can understand why Comey was hidden in all the FBI documents but why would Durham do the same thing? Maybe I am too dense to understand why a White Hat like Durham would do this in his report. It can't be to rub their noses in it since everyone and their Mother has known about it for years.

Since this documentation tactic was exposed in 2018, and everyone is aware of it, perhaps Durham is highlighting how swamp creatures sidestep FOIA land mines as comms to them that additional crime has been discovered and is about to drop.

How odd. I did a search for "orn" and the rn looks like an r and an n in the words "attorney" and "sworn". But the search also highlights "come" and "coming" as containing orn.
Is it possible that whatever program they're using to generate the PDF files is using rn in place of m in some instances for formatting?
