A great article by Dr. Jockers explaining several important facts about magnesium and depression...this is a very user friendly site...I hope this helps someone as so many suffer episodes of depression at some point in their lives...it is important to understand the different forms of magnesium, as they have different healing properties..I personally use magnesium glycinate for nocturnal leg cramps...it works well...a blend is really the best way to go...
I also use magnesium oil spray for nocturnal muscle cramps and I love it...it works very quickly so I only use when necessary...there is a leg cramp homeopathy by Hyland's that I also utilize and keep on hand because it works so quickly...
I put a couple teaspoons of this mag powder in my smoothies. I had a heart arrythmia for couple months, I went to the doctor, he wanted to send me to a cardiologist for a heart monitor. Needless to say, I never went to the cardiologist, I started using this and my heart arrythmia was gone. I did some research and found out if you are mag deficient it can cause arrythmias. I haven't had even 1 flutter in the last 6 months, that is the honest truth.

I suffer from heart arrythmia as well. Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT). For me, potassium, magnesium and maintaining my hydration have been very beneficial. I still get the odd attack but, it is very manageable when it happens.
Yes, I have an electrolyte supplement, as well. In my case, I have found that I don't need to consume the electrolytes every day, unless I am sweating lots. Then, I'm sure to take it. I've had this all my life. Over time I have developed a system. Doctors weren't much help so, I figured it out on my own.
did it also cause tennis elbow? Just asking for a friend. kek
Don't forget iodine.
Magnesium is not absorbed real well through the digestive system. Taking Epsom salt baths is a good way to get your magnesium. It is easily absorbed through the skin.
Can all ages use this recipe? For example would you say it’s okay for my 19 month 7 and 9 year old? Thank you for you knowledge. I always appreciate your contribution.
Thank you, I will definitely be checking out my local bookstore for the book you recommended. I have another question. Tonight my spouse and I were talking about a women’s annual visit to their OBGYN. Do you find this a necessity? Or are there holistic routes to this?
Thank you, thank you! There are no underlying issues at all. We’ve been together since 16 and have an extremely healthy marriage. Everything you said really validated the feelings we have about it all. We had the baby and haven’t seen a doctor since and really have no desire to return! I’m learning but can usually stop any issue in its tracks. I may not have as much knowledge as you just yet, but I will get there. Thank you for passing it on to the next generation! Again, MUCH appreciated.
How about fresh air, sunshine, and faith in God Almighty? Get outside and marvel at the wonderous world that has been created just for you! Walk barefoot in the grass, follow a sparkling stream, sit and close your eyes and listen to God;)
Sorry fren, the idea the its a chemical imbalance is one put about by big pharma to sell SSRI's, I remember when these were talked about as another wonder drug that will cure depression, they even talked about a "gold standard" of personality.
The reports that came out about the violence associated with prozac in particular were buried deep.
My point was that the theory of chemical imbalances was invented to sell these meds, thats all.
Don't believe the brain imbalance b.s As artyjulia saids it's a way to sell SSRIs. Which have a high rate of causing suicide....go figure 🤦
I'm more inclined to think the guy who states the stomach is the second brain is on more legit track.
I don't have a stomach due to cancer. A shitload has changed for me. Many things the science claims is hippocampus/ brain related. I didn't lose my brain.
I also noticed many other behaviours other people have can be fixed if their stomach is fixed.
We can't have people know they can fix themselves now. Hence the brain is a good cover
I take magnesium every day I feel pretty upbeat most of the time.
I also am on a carnivore diet. There are many people on YouTube, drs included who claim the diet cures depression.
In fact, look at Jordan Peterson video where he talks about it curing his depression.
Plus I have abs again!
I did a month of it. I had trouble sleeping. Might have been lack of fat, or I wasn't adapted yet.
its cause you are starting to have excess energy as well.
Have a look into Magnesium L Threonate. Its the only form of mag supplement that passes through the blood brain barrier. I usually take that an hour before bed to help me fall asleep. Magnesium Chloride, usually found in "magnesium oils" and absorbs through the skin is the most bioavailable version, but that seems to help the most with leg cramps.
I recommend two books The Mood CureBook by Julia Ross Depression Free Naturally by Joan Matthews Larson
The brain is complex. These books have excellent suggestions for natural supplements and amino acids to get the brain back in balance. Magnesium is part of the picture.
But is it the brain? Is this another section of science barking up the wrong tree? I have a degree in psychology I've lost my stomach due to cancer And I'm more included to believe the guy who mentions the stomach is the second brain is closer on track then the garbage uni teaches.
My local gym manager swears by this book: The Magnesium Miracle, by Carolyn Dean, M.D. She writes about sooo many symptoms that are caused by lack of magnesium. The gym manager ticked off a laundry list of stuff that was wrong with him until he read this book and started taking magnesium, and he was "cured" of all of it (over months of usage), but says he does have to continue taking the magnesium. It's a thick book, and I'm only about 1/5th into it.
There is a form of magnesium that is more absorbable, which the book talks about (and the product was also developed by the author). Having the gym manager swear by it was all I needed to hear. It's called ReMag (highly absorbed, non-laxative liquid available on amazon and I'm guessing the author probably has a website you could buy from as well).
I personally go for Dead See salt.
Except don't use refined salt. Go for the good stuff
Its great for restless leg syndrome and also as a topical rub for arthritis.
Have you tried a good quality CBD for your Blue Days?
I use magnesium oil (magnesium chloride dissolved in water) as a spray deodorant.
My wife and I use a magnesium complex liquid form (drops). Raspberry flavored and supposedly organic. The complex has potassium, Vit. B6, C, D3 and K2. The brand we use is Mulittea.
My daughter-in-law is an oby-gyn and she suggested the complex. It's also fairly cheap.
We have some kind of tang powder makes a drink.
Natural Calm Magnesium drink? I like the sweet lemon flavor the best.
That’s the one
All the vitamin C you need cold or warm! Yeah we did too
Add zinc, probiotics, leafy greens.
Gut health is the bigger key. The gut produces the chemicals the brain needs. Dopamine, serotonin, etc...
Bingo. I picked up Zinc from those Drs that streamed live in DC 2020ish time frame. At the very end of the video a Dr told the person to take more zinc "Which is also the cure for depression".
Gary Brecka: Talks about health, gut, and meth... ylation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10enqcw2Qiw
Actually, you should take your comment here and post it. That is a lot of good info you have.
I have been looking at ADHD my self. The drugs for ADHD cause higher blood pressure which can lead to glaucoma over time. I noticed this all relates back to meth. People even take Methylene Blue for this. Then finally I stumbled on Gary Brecka.
Thank you so much.
That was cool. It seems the more natural you can get the gut and methylation working the better.
Raisins are what I snack on. https://www.myfooddata.com/articles/high-magnesium-fruits.php#magnesium-rich-fruits
I binge eat them watching tv. I don’t binge on prunes, but I love dried cranberries too! There are conflicts in opinion how much magnesium people need. Can we trust the Required Daily Amount or like other sites stress a much larger amount of magnesium in the powered form. Also, focus on a faith practice. Study & understand the doctrines of a faith, some can actually be unhealthy. Important to cultivate faith in a life affirming doctrine. If you have a faith, honestly reflect upon your practice of it.
Yes it is!
It's nice that you can miss taking your magnesium and not have to worry about compulsively grabbing a gun and going pew pew into a crowd.
Thanks I’ll check it out
No. Not YET!
I’ll text you when I leave. 🥰
Also if you have body odour it's a sign of low mag.
I use mag spray.Forgot of late......noticed of late I need to get back to it
Natural deodorant didn't seem to work for me.
It was only after using magnesium spray for ages that someone then told me "did you know".
Have noticed since no deodorant needed. Even in summer heat
Research Magnesium Oil.
Article has zero mention of chronically destroyed circadian rhythms and living in junk light environments. The #1 cause of depression and other mental disorders.
Magnesium is not going to work as expected without mitochondrial water production, and it is chronic and consistent exposure to full spectrum sunlight that creates mitochondrial water. Red light specifically creates water at cytochrome c oxidase to support Mg function. Magnesium is a hydrophilic cation. If your colony of mitochondria is not making water from oxidative phosphorilation in a tissue, Mg2+ supps won't make up that gap. Biophysics is more fundamental than biochemistry. Taking magnesium but staying out of the sun is pissing in the wind. The magnesium bros are ignorant of the physics of light frequencies and mitochondrial function, and too busy selling books and supplements to look into it. It seems to be easier and more profitable to simply convince people the key to health is buying things to put into your body, instead of educating people on what environment you ought to put your body into.
The whole article leads to "buy my product".
