Trump Applies Heavy Pressure on Denmark for the Ownership of Greenland, Leaving Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Her Government in Full ‘Crisis Mode’
(www.thegatewaypundit.com)
🇺🇲 NEW FLAG 🇩🇰
Can’t wait till Apple Maps changes it to Orangeland
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
That would be so perfect.
Why do I get the feeling that knowing Denmark is a European hotbed of child porn and elite child torture and sacrifice is coming into play here
That is exactly what I was thinking.
That's Ukraine.
China wants to drop it's bases in Greenland, that's why Trump wants to acquire it. It's a matter of national security.
What secrets are buried under that ice?
Lithium and rare earth elements
Greenland is technically part of North America’s continental tectonic plate.
If you look at Trump’s big picture you can see he is trying to turn the North American continent into USA.
Canada, Alaska, United States, Greenland and technically Mexico would make up the continent.
Exactly why russia should get control of asia and Europe, 1 big land mass and putin is the only one moral enough to run it all.
Did you miss the part where China and India are part of the said continent?
Well Mexico is connected all the way down to the bottom of Argentina.
We could just end up having 7 giant countries in the world.
No, we cut that off with the panama canal. ;)
No one crosses the Darien gap. In theory Panama is the furthest you can drive south.
It just seems that there is a fair bit of hostility here towards the brown people that don't speak English so it doesn't make a lot of sense to make 100 million of them US citizens with the swipe of a pen.
I agree. I don’t think we even need to add Canada.
WOW!! The boss is very serious about this. 🐸
Denmark: “Ah he’s surely joking and this is some sort of negotiation tactic.”
(1 Phone Call later.)
Denmark: “Oh shit! He’s not joking!”
I wish that he would simultaneously negotiate with Iceland for a name swap. Greenland is ice, Iceland is green. The truth matters.
Is this a good time to say something smells rotten in Denmark?
It would be funny if Trump just rolls up like "we have the pizza related tapes with all the sauces" and they fold.
How long does it take to count 57,000 votes on the matter?
THAT - "the will of The People of Greenland", who WANT to be part of the US and who have been treated badly by Denmark - is a big part of what has Denmark's knickers in a twist.
Depends on if it's California or not...
Just shout out one of the windows -------- OK, the ayes have it.
The Danes capitulated before this ever hit the news. . .the charter with Greenland provides they (residents or citizens) of Greenland can elect change. . .time to call the question.
I don't want ANY military intervention, we fought a Revolution with the British over imperialism. If the voters of Greenland vote to become part of the U.S. that's great, if not then we must back off.
Something is panicking in the state of Denmark!
"According to sources" OK then....
He shrugged off the 'diplomatic rift' because the daily mails characterization is a lie to put Trump under the worst possible light as the war mongerer they always accuse him of being. Trumps touch is much lighter, and much more effective, than war.
Yeh its not the best article. DM is a mix, depending on the writer Ive noticed.
Obviously 47 and his administration see this issue as critical for America. If the majority of residents there agree to it...well the Danes haven't been minding the store there for several generations so for them to complain about the consequences is a bit ingenuous
Denmark lost Greenland during WW2 when they couldnt protect it while under Nazi occupation. It was America that ensured the Nazis couldnt use Greenland for bases and the freedom of the Greenlanders.
The Inuits who live there came from North America, the Vikings were the first Europeans to discover it but were from Norway (Eric the Red) not Denmark. In 1931 Norway tried to get Greenland back from Denmark. And Greenland is part of the North American continent.
Did you know that Denmark has sled dog patrols roaming the ice cap so they can maintain their claims? Why? Because they have no other presence otherwise.
Its only through bullshit that Denmark can make and hold any claim on Greenland.
What I think Trump is after is Greenland sovereignty with America as its protector, due to its strategic geopolitical importance, and its chief trading partner.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danish_overseas_colonies
...DISingenuous..
This is very important for Trump and the US, I hope he arranges the purchase and concludes it.
Why do we care about Greenland again?
Abundant oil - shipping lanes - strategic military location - rare earth minerals - prevent China and Russia from getting it
Then even less reason for Denmark to give it up .
No resources to capitalize on it
When the Northwest Passage finally reveals itself then Greenland will become a huge asset. Whoever owns those lanes owns the greatest trade route between Europe and West America and Asia. It would cut travel time down by 30-40% between East Asia and Europe.
Greenland has deep water ports along the northwest passage, so it's a critical way point in that journey. Trump is fighting hard for the Panama canal... Greenland + Northwest Passage is even more important. Trump wants to lock down the entire upper equatorial western hemisphere trade routes for America for the rest of time: and he's right to do so. He who controls the seas controls trade.
Also, you don't want China nor Russia to build bases and ports there, it's way too close to America. First Strike response would be significantly reduced because of its geo proximity to major US cities, including DC and NYC. There's a reason the US is a natural impenetrable, unseigable fortress, and it's distance from the major powers. If one secures Greenland and turns it into a forward operating base weaponized with ICBMs, suddenly America loses her greatest advantage at defense.
And none of this mentions how Greenland has an insane amount of natural resources.
Basically, it's a win win win for America, and we should be doing it as the arctic ice caps continue to melt.
Putting ICBMs there was tried in the 50's, underground silos were built in Camp Century which was abandoned in 1967. Its just been rediscovered and is full of very toxic waste.
https://www.highnorthnews.com/nb/unearthing-arctics-toxic-past-camp-century-and-cold-war-secrets
They use the toxic waste and chemical dangers to keep people away from their human trafficking business
I am not too sure, the trafficking is done using container ships docking at container ports, I don't think there are any ports like this in Greenland.
Planes trains automobiles EVERYTHING possible is used in trafficking
Exactly. The (far) northwest passage has been a strategic objective for other powers for some time. Trump is playing serious catch up.
Trump said Russian and Chinese ships all over the place. It's critical to our national (and international) security. Look closer at a map; he's right. Same with Canada, whom we subsidize, accept imports, and provide military protection. They can't be cucked either.
Think Arctic, then look at a globe and note Russia, Canada, Greenland, and the USA. I have heard a rumor of bio labs there as well.
Strategic location and natural resources.
Coming from Denmark I'm of course biased here. I have been fighting for MAGA since Trump came down the escalator, but this bullying from a big country against a small country, and the sentiment here on GAW that that is totally acceptable, really hurts.
Denmark is the true bully here. The people of Greenland are making it abundantly clear that they would prefer to be a part of the US rather than remain part of the Kingdom of Denmark.
Since 2009 Greenland has to split revenues from its natural resources 50/50 with Denmark. (Denmark allows them to keep the first $11 million but after that it is essentially a 50% tax rate). No wonder they want out.
Are you sure? This is American bully boy tactics writ large, when they come up against a strong country they treat lightly but is its a weak one the roll right over them. Imperalism.
Absolutely sure.
If the people of Greenland want freedom from Denmark and want to join the US they should be allowed to do so. Denmark shouldn’t be able to bully them into staying.
I think most of us are under the assumption that there is something or many things going on under the surface (more or less literally) that this relates to. As an American patriot who lives in and is also a citizen of the Russian Federation I deal with this two-edged sword issue. Not all of us agree with the strident remarks some people make here. WRWY!
ThanQ, this definitely is a two-edged sword issue for me.
Being half Danish on my father's side, and having Family in Denmark, I definitely get the impression Danes are not happy with, or about this Greenland thing.
While I don't have faith in Trump, I do have hope, and like to think there is more to this than what's on the surface. Certainly eager to see how this plays out.
Why would Danish citizens truly care about this? I mean besides the fact that its just always been that way, what connection do Danes actually have to Greenland?
Have most Danes ever even been there?
People really need to look at a map here. Its nowhere near Denmark (there are 7-8 countries that are closer to Greenland than Denmark).
It doesnt make sense for Denmark to have any control over it.
Why not? Just because of the distance? There are many strategic reasons to have control over Greenland. Why do you think Trump wants the island?
Greenland has their own government, while Denmark has jurisdiction (e.g. local police is under the Danish police). Denmark gives over 600.000usd to Greenland every year. They once asked to be independent, but when they realized the money would be gone too, they retracted...
Is that 600 thousand dollars? Because that is a comically small amount of money to be honest (Reminds me of the Austin Powers Dr Evil 1 million dollars scene).
Denmark should spend those few thousand dollars investing in securing their own border from all the 'culturally enriching' invaders streaming in.
Sorry, that should have been 600 million USD (4.3 billion DKK)..
Heh Thats 0better. It really doesn't make geographical sense for Denmark to be involved. And Makes perfect geographical sense for America.
Geographical sense? Well, historically Denmark is a seafaring nation, dating back to the vikings, and all the way to the present with Maersk, the worlds largest shipping company. Denmark has had colonies and trading posts in various parts of the world. It was mostly trade of goods, but unfortunately like so many other nations, it also involved slave trade.
See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danish_overseas_colonies for a historic overview. Check the map to see the geographical stretch: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/81/Danish_Colonial_Empire.png
Please post any legitimate claims Denmark has to hold sovereignty over Greenland.
And then read my post above for reasons they dont.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_of_Kiel
Denmark has been cucked unfortunately.
But why? Really
