Cities and counties all level various forms of taxea including incone and sales. Property taxes stand out as a penalty for possessing sonething. Oyr retired citizens have to keep paying for their home long after its paid off. Its theft.
It would maybe cost close to that much in local tax if the overpaid fluff positions aren't gotten rid of. The point is not simply to eliminate a tax. It's to reduce gov spending. That includes the local level.
So no, 30% would not be needed in local taxes. And, if the fed tax is so great why are there potholes in streets, untrimmed trees hanging in road way, and grass overgrown all over the place? Why do police take so long to respond yet their force is large and basically over staffed?
That's because the home isn't free. It is protected by police, fire, and EMS, who don't work for free. It is served by water and sewage lines which had to be installed by some construction crew and which require maintenance every so many decades as the pipes wear and break. It is served by roads that have to be kept clear of brush, cleaned, paved, lined, have the pot holes repaired, be salted in the winter, plowed when snow falls, etc. As a local citizen, you have to pay your part for local schools, parks, local government services, etc
I have no problem saying there's no "property tax." Claim it's "theft." But the response will be that the city totals up the costs of services it provides to your property and sends you an itemized bill. You still have to pay your share of the costs of living in a civilized society. Freedom isn't free. Prosperity isn't free. Living with first-world accommodations isn't free. All of those things exist because people are employed to provide them. Stop paying and your city will rapidly start looking like a third-world latrine - just like LA and NYC when they stopped picking up the trash.
That's all a small percentage of the tax. A lot more goes to schools so they can indoctrinate children and several other stupid things. The more money any authority has to use the less that gets spent on the sorts of things you mention. As proof, take a drive from a city or state with notoriously high taxes to one with low taxes. Notice the change in the quality of the road after you crossed the line. One would expect the higher tax authority would have better roads but it's almost always the opposite. Check it out & see
You're describing the city. Not everyone lives in the city. County tax in cities should be high to pay for those things if yall think yall need that slow to respond emergency services.
In the country you pull your own weight and don't rely upon others to keep you safe. It's called personal responsibility.
You used that House and Land as COLLATERAL for the Mortgage, so it's IN COMMERCE, aka, a Commercial Property, like a Hotel Room, or a BNB, or even a Store....
It is SEEN AS a Business Location, that's how the Law sees it....
So it's a VALID TAX directly under the U.S. Constitution COMMERCE CLAUSE, and the state Constitution, Commerce clause....
If you have a Problem with that, then YOU need to take the Proper steps to REMOVE your House and Land/s from the Tax Rolls and from being Seen As a Business Property....
It isn't Theft, especially when it's just YOUR MISUNDERSTANDING of the Laws in Effect....
I really don't understand WHY people never stop and THINK about Which Law is being applied to them, and just Knee Jerk Off into False beliefs...
That sounds to me like you are saying the property taxes should much lower. I know fire and police do not work for free, ( and neither do other government employees) but bring the cost of living down and their salaries should make them exist comfortably in whichever state they live in. Take away collective bargaining from government employees-we don't need extra taxes from unelected beauraucrats.
Because the guy living in a mobile home shouldn't have to pay the same costs as the guy living in the cul-de-sac in the gated community in a million dollar house on 2.5 acres. He doesn't use the same amount of services, and he damn well doesn't have the same means to pay. There's a reason we use a progressive income tax system, just as we use differing property values as a proxy for a graduated local tax.
Those expenses would be paid by everyone receiving those services--and they for sure are not funding them properly or providing proper services; not sure how that would manifest but it for sure isn't rocket science. The money that's lavished on the school scam here is outrageous. Town of ~17K, $35M for sucko public fool system. The kids are not being taught to read decently, last I heard. Take away their pot of gold and do what was done in earlier times: when they want money, they must ask the people, with hat in hand. We have absolutely no say in this crap town.
there are other ways to fund city services... look at the breakdown of your property tax bill....a million different kinds of school taxes, ( i have not had kids in school for 20 yrs+) city/county debt( thats right we are covering their screw ups) and a lot of other bullshit for them to waste not just city services, they can find other ways without sticking it on your property. This is their leverage to keep you enslaved. you dont pay they take your property.........forced theft. break a piece off the millions they make from lottery that is supposed to go to schools but is misused also ahhh the old general fund ie the piggy bank....
And the System isn't Evil, it is OUR LACK of Knowledge and Law that makes it look Evil, when it's just IGNORANCE on our part....
Yes, I just said Americans are IGNORANT of Law, most Law even to the point of getting Trapped into having Two Businesses, and being Taxed for Both, while not knowing they are businesses....
Taxi/Delivery Service, aka DRIVER....
Privately Commercial, Boarding House/BNB/Hotel/Motel, but you call it Home....
'slavery' definitely explains it! a farm to provide for their family & community, and Still paying taxes on top of that. Amazing such a system has lasted this long.
IF you didn't, you would have DONE the research to find out about the Original Land Grants and Land Patents, and HOW to move your Land/s OUT of the COMMERCIAL REALM an OFF the Tax Rolls....
But you only seem to care about ""WAAAA Taxation is Theft, WAAAA""....
And that's exactly how we got into this entire mess in the first place, abNormal Americans not DOING any Research, just plea Guilty to anything and everything under the sun....
Cop:: I accuse you of DRIVING....
Americans:: Yup, we was all Driving....
Judge:: $5,000 Dollar Fine....
An you still don't know exactly what ""DRIVING"" actually is, and NO, it isn't just being behind the steering wheel....
Well, same with Lands, you either have them in ALLODIUM under a Grant or Patent or FEE SIMPLE, or they are COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES in the Tax Rolls....
...and most of that tax money goes to govt schools to brainwash your kids into good little commies, along with more going to liberal causes that fund the dems.
Yes please end property taxes! But only for one home and some amount of land. I don't want the super rich to buy ten plus homes and thousands of acres and sit on it tax free.
I went fishing on canandaigua lake in NY finger lakes region earlier this spring. And it's lined with beautiful mansion homes around the entire lake. And there wasn't anyone living in a single house. They're all just investment homes or second or third homes rich people own and visit for a couple weeks in the summer. If they can afford that today with the taxes in place I don't see why they should stop paying them. It was honestly eerie how quiet the lake was as the sun was coming up and nobody was home
A property tax is far more Constitutional than a tax on work for pay *(aka Personal Income Tax) - What alternatives do the property tax eliminators propose?
:) Looks like more than one. I have some options. Sales taxes on non - essentials, tariffs, lower Congress' pay and\or tie it to merit, cut the Federal Budget to 5% of the GDP, End The Federal Reserve, Stop foreign aid that we are not at least receiving something in return for (whether intelligence, or other benefits) The other thing is: The property tax is collected at the state level. I love De Santis as governor of Florida, and Florida already has no tax on work for pay (aka Personal Income tax) The personal income tax was considered stealing 'bread from the mouth of the laborer' by Jefferson, but they had no problem with a progressive property tax.
Those are some good plans, thank you. My state still has some personal income tax but it's at higher income levels. ND is a rich state with all the oil. It might not seem like it because most of us are pretty down to earth but it does. One of the richest people in our town, when he's in his work clothes looks like he sleeps in a barn somewhere in the mountains of Kentucky and nice as can be, as well as the rest of his family, I visited with him and his family many times when I worked in a gas station here. Let me tell you the cars they drive...well they're nice, very nice. I know not to judge a book by it's cover lol.
It pays for the town budget in Vermont, we have town meetings every year, in every single small berg, and use that money, and vote on how we use it, town by town. Buying a new snow plow, local schools, with local boards, fixing the roads, giving some to the food pantry or senior centers, or libraries, I would love not to pay, but there are things we do need provided in rural areas, so, where does the money come from? We get snow up to the eaves of the houses every winter, but the roads are always open within 12 hours at the most, even in a bad storm. I suppose you could bill everyone for the service, but how the heck would that work? We do have private trash services, taxes do not cover that. Its not like a road gets washed out, and the persons whose house is on that road can refuse to pay getting it fixed,, because its a public road. Do we start paying tolls? It is not practical in many ways. What I do not like is the arbitrary way we are charged. An across the board town fee may work, but, ummm, what happens if a person does not pay it? Just being practical here, I am not a fan of property tax, its killing us in Vermont.
Isn't that up to the state? We brought it to a vote in my state and the people here actually voted to keep the property tax, the main reason...our roads. Also our public schools aren't bad here, especially in the smaller towns.
ND has a lot of roads to maintain we don't have a lot of public transport, you need a car to go anywhere, four wheel drive isn't just a luxury here it's a necessity. North Dakota winters are no joke. I have had to walk in -30f weather to work when I was younger I'm thankful I don't have to again.
The title of the post maked it sound otherwise. I know you didn't write it .
But what alternatives are there to cover infrastructure costs?
We chose to keep it. Any decent shopping . Many things including medical anything beyond a clinic visit are an hour plus away.
I'm wondering if POTUS has something up his sleeve to provide funds for infrastructure possibly from Tariffs because he mentioned eliminating Property Taxes recently. I trust him to handle things like this safely Guess we'll have to see what he has in mind Hunny...
The axis of reality and ego was tipped a long time ago in the USA. Churches proclaim to pay tithe and offerings and they kneel to the throne of the Government and proclaim to follow the LAWS of the Land. Yet these Churches are not following LAWS. They follow POLICIES that will -never- stand up to LAW if people would learn the difference.
Yet here we are.
The American People should be like the People in that country on the other side of World that have the tallest building in the World.
Here we are doubting what belongs to us and searching to and fro for something/someone to blame it on.
The People of the USA -The Rightful People- are to blame.
That theory of separation of Church and State is a mystery. I challenge anyone to look at prominent Churches and see how many key roles in that Church are all part of the Government too.
Of course they will be happy to see you and smile to you.
Just as the blue lined flag is a symbol to a gang, so is this. These are tells to me. Once things like this start changing it will happen faster.
And yeah, dunno if you’ve seen, but I try to advocate here and there - a bit more recently - for following the OT.
Then here you have these .. Pharaoh fellating hypocritical demagogues sitting at the pulpit, calling that claim false, unbiblical, bringing a curse upon your head, then having the nerve to turn around 15 minutes later and ask for a tithe.
“Oh, so you’re a Levite at the temple? Wow! Tell me all about the process of sacrificing a goat! Can I tithe you in freshly threshed barley?” (We don’t have to do that one anymore)
(Asking for “tithes” instead of “donations for our operating budget, cause this building ain’t free” when we supposedly aren’t under the law anymore was an early tip-off that “something might be amiss here”.)
Whether I’m right or wrong, what the preacher mans and wamans is teachin up there is inarguably not Christianity steeped in redemptive power, in at least some significant portion, or we wouldn’t have slid into nigh total slavery these last 50 years.
there a levels of stuff I see thru life but I tire easily. My wife, if I choose to point out of this stuff too, will not understand. Which that too is by design of how God made us.
There is a huge thing going on in the minds of those God has chosen as there is a huge thing going on the minds of those who have sold their souls for silver.
In a World that Hates Christians and proclaim things like Jesus was only a Man... Yet you ask them what year we are in and they will say 2025... That is evidence of how Powerful a Spiritual War we are in.
I once had a chat with a county legislator about property taxes. told him that it amounted to making property all belong to the county and that we paid the mortgage to have the right to rent that property from the county. he told me I was crazy for thinking that. so I asked him what would happen if I was renting a property and stopped paying the rent. he told me I would be evicted. then I asked him what would happen if I stopped paying property taxes on a piece of property. he said I would get evicted. that's when it dawned on him what I meant...
of course he went into a diatribe of justification on why we needed to pay property taxes, how schools are paid for through property taxes, to which I asked wasn't the lottery supposed to pay for our schools. he conceded that he got what I was saying. sadly, he died only a few months later. RiP Pete...
What I've noticed locally: the thieves take your property if you get behind on the taxes and they have a ready pot of gold--YOUR DAMNED MONEY----
to waste,
embezzle,
steal,
invest,
serve globalists,
establish Agenda 21/2030 treason in your town,
neglect street maintenance and plowing,
ignore repairs and maintenance on your water treatment plant that must be made but are not,
destroy historical properties for their own agendas,
target individuals who do speak out,
somehow don't have the funds to keep the "city" bus going,
are very sure that THEY need higher pay because, you know, cost of living...........while the tax-burdened schmucks somehow don't get that pay raise. Funny how that works.
Then on top of those points, from my understanding even if you "own" the property, my understanding is you still only get a certificate of deed. Not the actual deed.
If I recollect, that's what I'd heard at a State National thing I went to a couple years ago. Like our vehicle titles here in VA state it's a Certificate of Title, and it that while on paper we own it but the actual title is held by the State Inc. Who knows, like everything else I can't say for certainty either way lol
Try starting a business… especially in California, the fees and taxes upon taxes is literally insane. Every year you have to pay into disability and you never get that back. Depending on how many employees you have it can easily get into the six figures very quickly. Even for a company like Amazon they probably easily pay a million a year for disability in CA. Times that by how many states they have distribution centers located in.
The tax overreach in America is bonkers. We need another tea party tax revolt… but actually string-up all the thieving politicians who created this mess in the first place. Both local and federal.
Did you ever step back and add up how much supposedly goes to schools in just your little neighborhood? IT'S OBSCENE!!!
AND the education is CRAP.
There's NO WAY the money isn't being laundered or misappropriated - EVERYWHERE. Even considering the INSANE salaries of these "superintendents" ($350k+/yr)
Some states, the taxes are absolutely insane to keep your house... NJ, PA, CA etc. Like $6k-$15k PER YEAR... Just to keep the sheriff off your front porch...
How the tax money is spent needs to be reevaluated... The municipal building should NOT look like the Taj mahal - it should be the absolute cheapest, no-frills box possible - not a fking palace. They've gotten WAY too cavalier with our money and they need to get knocked down again into "olive drab" boring, no-frills govt territory again. We ain't paying for your Keurig coffee bullshit we KNOW you're stealing for home etc.
How could anyone with a brain, unless a politician, ever think that property tax is anything but glossed-over crime?
However, getting rid of income tax would help more people. You want the crushing financial weight to come off of Americans? Get rid of both burdens.
The problem with property tax, out of many, it’s a luxury tax. It’s based on the value of your property, not how your property impacts the city, county, etc. if there are two properties exactly the same size with the same size sq ft and same number of bathrooms, but one is built in a cornfield lot with 50 other homes that look the same and the other is a custom built home in an upscale wooded neighborhood, the later house would have higher property taxes, even though both houses are the same impact.
In principle, I agree. The property should be yours, not rented from the government in the form of a property tax/rent.
However, in practice, your house isn't free. The city has to provide many services to it: road building and maintenance, sewer lines, water lines, power lines, internet lines, etc. Each municipality does it a bit differently, so variations exist, but no house exists that requires zero service from local government, even if it's just clearing trees from the road after a thunderstorm or plowing the snow. That has to be paid for.
If you got rid of property tax, the local government would then have to itemize a list of services each property is provided and send a bill for them. Local schools, local park maintenance, local festivals, police protection, fire protection, etc. You get the idea. You'd still have to pay a maintenance fee in this way, even if it's not called a property tax, it'd be a recurring charge to keep the property.
All this country needs to do to grow is eliminate the income tax and property tax. The rates of fastest growth and wealth accumulation of the people preceded both these. Since their establishment only corporations are allowed to accumulate assets
The only taxes should be sales taxes. This forces localities to be business and commerce friendly- in so many ways
yes property tax is theft
How do cities pay for service like police, fire or sanitation? Federal taxes and state or local taxes are two separate animals.
Cities and counties all level various forms of taxea including incone and sales. Property taxes stand out as a penalty for possessing sonething. Oyr retired citizens have to keep paying for their home long after its paid off. Its theft.
Income tax is a penalty for being too productive as well.
Limit it to sales tax and special use taxes (e.g. tolls). If the government is made efficient, this would easily be doable.
u/#Correct
When your locality raises its sales tax to 30%, you won't think that sales taxes are such a hot idea.
Cannot rationally answer that one.
That's because the home isn't free. It is protected by police, fire, and EMS, who don't work for free. Do you???
Why would you be Angry at other people just for doing what YOU WANT THEM TO DO???
If you didn't want your Land/s Taxed, then you would have taken the time to research and Remove your Lands from the tax Rolls, but you didn't....
That says you WANT to pay those Taxes....
I'm guessing you don't live in the upper Midwest😄 farmers still Love Roundup. won't listen to reason.

Yep brainwash the kids into growing into adults that say things like "who is going to be police or fire fighters without tax."
Yes please end property taxes! But only for one home and some amount of land. I don't want the super rich to buy ten plus homes and thousands of acres and sit on it tax free.

Go Remove your lands from the tax Rolls and LEARN about Land Grants and Land Patents....
This is why the homestead gets exemptions currently.
Really though, all of it is usury.

I would assume it's State Regulated
The title of the post maked it sound otherwise. I know you didn't write it . But what alternatives are there to cover infrastructure costs? We chose to keep it. Any decent shopping . Many things including medical anything beyond a clinic visit are an hour plus away.
I'm wondering if POTUS has something up his sleeve to provide funds for infrastructure possibly from Tariffs because he mentioned eliminating Property Taxes recently. I trust him to handle things like this safely Guess we'll have to see what he has in mind Hunny...
It is.
But the the comptroller leverages the school and dot to go wild about it if people want to reduce it. Happens everywhere on repeat.
They are all buddies.

Did you see the video I posted about “How to be a Nation…” a few days ago?
https://greatawakening.win/p/19BZbdkbjN/how-do-you-become-a-nation-that-/c/
You might enjoy it.
I will check it out for sure.
there a levels of stuff I see thru life but I tire easily.
Abolish it for citizens. Keep it for non-citizens. Even better, don't allow non-citizens to purchase in the first place
Reparations!
RiP Pete...
Unfortunately some people don't/can't think outside the box especially people who work in the property tax department, it's all they know...
He might have opened his mouth…
As long as you’re a happy slave, Satan don’t mind much, but better not get uppity.
What I've noticed locally: the thieves take your property if you get behind on the taxes and they have a ready pot of gold--YOUR DAMNED MONEY----
to waste,
embezzle,
steal,
invest,
serve globalists,
establish Agenda 21/2030 treason in your town,
neglect street maintenance and plowing,
ignore repairs and maintenance on your water treatment plant that must be made but are not,
destroy historical properties for their own agendas,
target individuals who do speak out,
somehow don't have the funds to keep the "city" bus going,
are very sure that THEY need higher pay because, you know, cost of living...........while the tax-burdened schmucks somehow don't get that pay raise. Funny how that works.
AMEN
Then on top of those points, from my understanding even if you "own" the property, my understanding is you still only get a certificate of deed. Not the actual deed.
🤔
You should tax tourism harder. Sales tax is perhaps the most equitable tax there is.
Exactly. On. Target. 🎯
I've been making this argument for years! The idea of property taxes defies the concept of true, full ownership!
Nebraska sucks.
So does Illinois!!
And we pay all these taxes so our government can completely waste it and increase the welfare state.
Would be great but then, how will they be able to afford to oppress & harass the residents?
Agree
