Article explains that the Nazis had an interest in Antarctica for deep occult practices. After WWII, the US began Operation Highjump there, with Admiral Byrd nominally heading it. It's rumored that the Nazis were involved in "unspeakable horrors" down there. (I recently saw a program about Byrd and how when he finally came back from his mission in Antarctica he was never the same.)

On 11 March 1962, the fifth anniversary of the Admiral's death, the New Zealand National Memorial to Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd was dedicated at Wellington. The Reverend W. E. D. Davies, chairman of the Wellington Branch of the National Council of Churches, performed the dedication, and the Right Honorable Keith Holyoake, Prime Minister of New Zealand, assisted by Rear Admiral David M. Tyree and Mr. A. Leigh Hunt, originator of the project, unveiled the bust of Admiral Byrd which is in the center of the memorial. The response to the dedication was made by Miss Ruth Bacon, United States Charge d'Affaires. The honored guest and representative of the Byrd family was Mrs. Robert Breyer, the late Admiral's daughter.
In addition to the Prime Minister, the leader of the opposition, the Right Honorable Walter Nash, and the dean of the diplomatic corps, His Excellency Admiral Sir John Collins [sic--Admiral Collins was actually the Australian High Commissioner in New Zealand--Bill], made brief addresses. Mr. Tracey Simpson, chairman of the Richard E. Byrd Fellowship, which sponsored the memorial, read messages from prominent persons all over the world. Among them was one from President Kennedy which said in part that the memorial to Admiral Byrd would stand "as a symbol of enduring friendship between the United States, land of his birth, and New Zealand, the country with which he was so closely associated in his great adventures."
The memorial recognizes not only Admiral Byrd's accomplishments in exploration, referring to him as the "greatest explorer of the air age," but also his contributions to international understanding. One large plaque refers to him as "a great internationalist," whose "concepts of Antarctica as 'the great white continent of peace' are contained in the Antarctic Treaty."
Byrd memorial dedicationThe above article and photo were published in the Bulletin of the U. S, Antarctic Projects Officer, March, 1962. The memorial was constructed at the Mt. Victoria lookout, east of the city center. The bronze bust of Admiral Byrd was sculpted by Thomas V. Johnston. Byrd's head is looking south; the stones on the south-facing wall--perhaps a half ton of them--came from the Koettlitz Glacier and Ross Island areas of Antarctica. The sides of the memorial were originally white stucco. Wellington mayor Frank Kitts, Christchurch mayor George Manning, the Bishop of Christchurch Edward Joyce, and the chairman of the Christchurch branch of the New Zealand Antarctic Society also participated in the dedication. ther honored guests included three members of Scott's Terra Nova expedition--Mortimer McCarthy (able seaman), William Burton (leading stoker, Royal Navy), and William McDonald (able seaman). These men all were living in or near Christchurch at the time. Also present was Edward E. Goodale--a member of Byrd's 1928-30 expedition and the USARP Christchurch representative from 1959 to 1968, as well as NSF polar researcher Philip M. Smith.
In the early 1990s the monument was refurbished, and the sides, which originally had been white stucco, were reclad with ceramic tiles depicting auroras, by artist Doreen Blumhardt. The plaques were replaced, and a new stone plaque was added commemorating Paul Siple. The memorial was rededicated on 21 June 1993.

EXPLORER'S SON FOUND DEAD OF MALNUTRITION
Published: Oct 9, 1988, 12:00 a.m. MDT
By Associated Press
The son of Admiral Richard E. Byrd, the polar explorer, has been found dead of malnutrition and dehydration in a warehouse three weeks after he disappeared from a Washington-bound train, officials said.
Richard E. Byrd Jr., 68, left Boston on Sept. 13 to attend a ceremony at National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington honoring his father with a new stamp. He never arrived and his whereabouts was a mystery for three weeks.
"I put him on a train and my wife was supposed to meet him," his son, Leverett Byrd of Needham, Mass., told The (Baltimore) Sun in a story published Saturday. "What happened in between, I don't know. It's very strange, this whole thing. We're trying to come to grips with it."
"He idolized his father. The main focus of his life was to continue what my grandfather started," said Leverett Byrd, one of Byrd's four sons.
Edit to add- Just found this newspaper article pdf from 1988. It's difficult to read in places but fascinating.
His son was actually with Admiral Byrd during Operation Highjump.
Officially, because the 68 yo son was suffering from alzheimers, he got confused and got off the train at Baltimore... But one must ask, why would he be put on a train by himself if that was a potential? Especially considering the history of his father and the entire family.
The mystery just gets deeper.
Admiral Byrd was the Indiana Jones character, but in real life and magnified many times over. The fact that every American has not been taught the legacy of this man is very telling.
Perhaps the death of the son was another way to ensure The Admiral Byrd museum idea proceeded no further?
Some say the earth is MUCH larger than we've been taught. Still the same oblate spheroid or whatever, but MUCH bigger...Who knows. Maybe Mars etc is on THIS planet and they've been sending rockets WAY over there...Something to consider...I don't have the answer
The perimeter is pretty much off limits to exploration so we have no idea what the hell is out there.
I just have a hunch we're going to run in to some very strange creatures out there if we're allowed to poke our nose around and see what's really out there.
I'm really interested to seeing what the Germans the World war II Germans were up to out there and what they discovered.
I sailed to Antarctica twice, in 74' & 75', as a young Coast Guard officer on the USCGC Glacier (now razor blades). It's a fascinating place to say the least. We made the trips during the Antarctic summer when the sun never set - we had daylight 24 hrs/day.
At the time I wasn't aware of Operation Highjump. Go down the Operation Highjump rabbit hole. This was in 1946-1947 - 13 U.S. Navy ships including 1 aircraft carrier and 1 submarine. ~ 4,700 total personnel: ~3,600 U.S. Navy sailors, ~ 500 U.S. marines - the rest were scientists, aviators & civilians. There were 33 aircraft. Admiral Richard E. Byrd commanded the operation, & it remains the largest Antarctic expedition ever mounted by a single nation.
What was the missions purpose? The "Official" answer was to train personnel & test equipment in extreme cold; consolidate U.S. presence in Antarctica & aerial mapping & scientific research.
Another "rabbit hole" to explore is the Nazi's presence on the continent of Antarctica before and during (and after?) WWII.
Operation Highjump sounded like a stargate takeoff point. This is what Operation Highjump + Stargate got me out of google:
Stargate Connection
Stargate SG-1 does not feature Operation Highjump directly.
The series does feature a significant storyline in Antarctica, where the second Stargate is discovered frozen in the ice (the "Antarctic gate" in SG-1 episodes like "Solitudes").
Yes indeed. I posted a comment in regards to that treaty.
What I failed to mention is that I took a flight to the south geographic pole while I was at McMurdo Station. I made friends with one of the flight crew members. I have a certificate that is signed by the South Pole Station Manager & a couple of photos. But hey I don't if any one would believe me.
interesting post fren. Whatβs your take on this?
Kane Lodge = explorersβ lodge (nickname)
Iβve never found a convincing revelation from Adm. Byrd, did the admiral bird expeditiondid end early.
The force level was highly masonic: 13 ships (York Rite of freemasonry 13 degrees), 33 aircraft (33rd degree honorific Scottish Rite degree), and 4,700 personnel (47th problem of Euclid = Pythagorean theorem used in geometry, and building, & symbolically building the βGreat Workβ completing the pyramid with capstone, New Order of the Ages)
Aliens from outer space? I highly think that's unlikely. But down here? I believe historically anything is possible for what is to be discovered.
And I think it will be mind blowing.
It's important we keep the story straight. It's difficult enough to keep the Greys in their proper context, what with the Reptilians and Nordics nosing around confusing things.
BTW National Geographic published a major feature on Operation Highjump in October 1947 (I have a copy). The article was titled "Our Navy Explores Antarctiac" written by Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd, USN (Ret.) and illustrated with official U.S. Navy photographs & maps. Some of the photos include unfrozen lakes.
There's a # for sale on Ebay. Just search for National Geographic October 1947. But yes I will think about digitizing the article. It's got 59 illustrations & 3 maps.
I always got a kick out of the penguins. We were sometimes allowed off the ship for a time of recreation. The penguins, if in the area, would come right up to us. They were very curious (and always well dressed)! But if you messed with them they could be really nasty!
The Antarctic Treaty was signed on Dec. 1, 1959. It entered into force on June 23, 1961. The original signatories were 12 countries. Today 50+ parties with 29 consultative (voting) members have signed.
Under the Antarctic Treaty system limited tourism is allowed - but guided only. Private expeditions are allowed but only with permits from a treaty nation. You generally MUST have a permit (issued by your home country to:
The original "penguin", that all others were named after, wasn't a penguin at all, and was once abundant in Greenland: Penguinis impennis-the Great Auk.

Could be. Admiral Byrd spoke of land beyond the south pole. What did he mean by that?
I presume there is a path to other land that's unknown to us.
Some guy came up with the dark spots on the moon are actually reflected extra terrain on our planet.
I'm not sure how he came up with that but I think that could be a a bit of a stretch.
Before our news was censored...π₯
Nice!
Would you digitize it and share?
There's a # for sale on Ebay. Just search for National Geographic October 1947. But yes I will think about digitizing the article. It's got 59 illustrations & 3 maps.
I got inspired to dig around and found this:
https://ia600302.us.archive.org/19/items/194701to12/1947-10.pdf
It seems it has already been digitized.
Yep that's it! Great job!
I even found a CBZ with high quality imaging (usually meant for comics). I would share it where I found it, but this location is not allowed on here.
There are nice penguin pictures in there....
Itβs as if. They are trying to hide something.
yeah the drones one is kinda hard to justify
Thanks Root for breaking it down! π
If you try to go to Antarctica they will literally kill your azz if you don't turn around as if they're trying to hide something.
And it kind of makes you wonder what they're hiding.
Correct! Folks are quick to say that you can go to Antarctica - but it's only on an "approved" tour. Begs the question: What are they hiding?
Have you heard about that weird blue ice over there?
Yes I ran across something to that affect on the internet but of course I don't know if there's anything to it or not.
Interesting question-provoking photo...why would a Greenland flag be in Antarctica....or why would a penguin be in Greenland?
The original "penguin", that all others were named after, wasn't a penguin at all, and was once abundant in Greenland: Penguinis impennis-the Great Auk.

TY fren! π
Thanks Nfld! π
now that is interesting, thanks
Byrd has also sailed into the Arctic. (planted flags on 2 poles!!!) The Arctic expedition is hardly talked about ....
But indeed, the original Penguin indeed is the Great Auk, first named TUX [ my addition ;-)]
Exactly... so many questions ZDT...π€

And now thereβs media coverage of βAβ list celebs aka swamp creatures going on vacay to Antarctica https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-15487707/Inside-new-celebrity-holiday-hotspot-antarctica.html
The most irksome to me was John Kerry going there. That completely traitorous Obama ass-kissing reptilian.
Correct me if Iβm wrong, but didnβt John Kerry visit Antarctica a couple of times in 2020? I seem to remember that.
Yes and I thought Q posted it in a drop...only found this...
There are 9 drops with Kerry

Not saying its true, just saying this is some of the talk about it.
Yes...
I admit I never studied up on this guy but heard a little about him Thank you for shining a light on this seemingly hidden explorer.
I know this, President Trump knows what's up and according to someone who saw the tweet said he tweeted something then immediately deleted it.
Unfortunately I can't reveal what it said.
Operation highjump
In the show it was a portal to other star systems' planets.
The movie Star Gate with Kurt Russell was a great Sci-Fi movie. One of my favorites.

This was a real conversation starter!
Rarely do the comments go into triple digits.
It's a Continent of Mystery and we all have curious minds Uncle! How are you fren?
Well....I am well!
Only got about 5" of snow here, about 900 miles north of you. Cold tonight (-5) So I'm burning some of that propane I saved by turning the dial down a bit when it wasn't so cold.
And I must remark that you got triple digits on this post too!
I think you need a "Community Organizer" flair. kek
Glad you are well! That was wise to conserve your propane. I read that remark earlier...i don't really pay attention to that stuff but thanks Uncle! π€
Metrics are important, even if only in a casual way. Engagement is high.
I think it is the storm: more eyeballs have more time to look around.
Engaged eyeballs are more likely to return to the site more often.
Good for the movement.
We are here to serve.
