It was one of the worst experiences I have ever had.

My wife is an L&D nurse. She says 90 percent of births go just fine, and they could have been a home delivery, or midwife, or doula, but the problem is that other 10 percent, and seconds make a difference much less minutes.

The pain is much more tolerable when you are in a comfortable environment, with no bright lights and unnecessary drugs, bath with fresh herbs immediately afterward. I was so impressed with the quality of care available when doing this.

Yes! The doctors love to sell the line “well the umbilical cord is wrapped around the baby's neck.” God designed babies to breathe through the cord with help of the placenta even once delivered. They won’t take their first breath immediately. Plus there is no risk of the cord like breaking baby's neck or anything - its just a scare line they use to encourage gutting mom and fishing for baby. The doctor should be trained to use their finger to scoop under the cord around the neck and pull it over baby's head no problem. Its the easiest thing in the world.

Even now I am told I can’t see any doctor for face to face appointments without a negative COVID test, which, of course, I am refusing to take. It all seems insanely unethical. Forcing me to undergo an invasive, inaccurate and possibly dangerous test just to have someone be able to check on my unborn baby? Fucking hell.
There are independent doctors who aren't falling for this. We should all take our business to those docs and support them. Although, they are probably so filled right now we would never get in.
