NOTE: I realize that Drunk Grandma will never put this to vote in the House in a hundred years, but at least it's a step in the right direction. We might need to rock this particular fridge back and forth a few times before we finally get it over.
For the Devolution fans in the crowd, we've speculated that there might be some conditions surrounding the national emergency that ties to the conservatorship of the MIL.
Whatever happens, it seems that some folks are not interested in this going past the 2Y mark in a couple of weeks. Let's see what happens.
I'm thinking that the Trucker Convoy may help sway this into actual existence.. πΊπ² There will be an amazing amount of pressure on them to bring this to vote!
I have a premonition it will not go as we think. We'll, it will, but it won't be good. Lots will get hurt. In the grand scheme millions of lives saved. But it won't go well at first.
We win in the end, at a relatively small cost, but it will never be the same, and not just because the evil is gone.
Where was the Senate about 2 years ago. We knew this was unlawful and against the Constitution. If they listened to the doctors we did, if they researched about the efficacy and side effects of the a Covid shot, the U.S. would not be in the shape we are. What are you doing about Fauci lying to Congress or about states moving forward with the digital vaccine system. I am not going to praise the Senate for the piss poor job they have done. Not only that but the vote was close which indicates to me a lot of Congress still wants to control the people and their lives. That is why I feel we should look at abolishing Congress and replacing them with a different system.
Ask how many of them get lobbied by Big Pharma. I'm sure it's way more than 47 but 47 decided they still want the money and aren't nervous enough about the consequences.
Many (in addition to the psychos and socialists/communists who'd be thrilled if the "emergency" went on indefinitely) are likely outright bribed and/or blackmailed.
Corruption and incompetence are often closely associated. The corruption masks the incompetence through bribes, blackmail, blackballing, bully tactics, undermining, reputation tarnishing, etc. Corruption with wealth can hide a great deal of shortcomings.
If the Senate voted to cancel the Covid national state of emergency... does that also end the FDA's "emergency authorization" for the Covid experimental vaccines?
If so, what will that do for California's newest bills where they are trying to force all kids from grades K-12 to require Covid vax in order to attend schools? You can't force people to take an Emergency Use Authorized Vax.... if there is no emergency.

What I saw said it was along party lines.
A Democratic Senate aide told the American Independent Foundation that the measure "won't go anywhere in the House and President Biden would veto it." A veto override would require two-thirds' support in the House and Senate.
Since it's destined to now go die in Nancy's House, it's just a symbolic Senate vote. So, maybe that's why Manchin didn't bother supporting it. He's busy trying to ban Russian oil imports. I'd hope he's doing that to spur domestic production, but who knows.
The vote was along party lines, with 48 senators for the GOP voting in favor of the resolution, while 47 Democrat senators were opposed to ending the state of emergency.
I guess Romney had to vote to end it since he voted against the declaration in 2019.
Meanwhile in NZ - the Nazis in the NZ Parliament want to extend the Covid regime for another year to MAY 2023! Tyrants never surrender their sweeping emergency powers.
While the protesters were being brutalised, 70 year olds hospitalised, women beaten up - the illegitimate NZ government are working to ram this through into law
So is this just a symbolic thing like the vaccine mandate vote the other day because Biden can just veto it? The lack of details here make it impossible to tell if this actually matters.

I'm hoping that's the straw too, anon.

Truckers just rolled through my state last night and left today headed to DC!

Probably the nuclear war
Drunken grandma: Nancy Skybrowse!
you mean nancy knuckle-grinder???
Looks like she was signalling her hands were tied.
The next move will be to take this toy completely away from the children.
I was thinking it would be a nicer idea to send the children to boarding school.
I hear the one in Guantanamo Bay is nice.
Who abstained?
Feinstein (husband just died), Imhofe, Burr & Padilla

Bet some are threatened.
We're dealing with a mafia -- bigger than the Italian one.
Many (in addition to the psychos and socialists/communists who'd be thrilled if the "emergency" went on indefinitely) are likely outright bribed and/or blackmailed.
They were paid off by Big Pharma, the government agencies or they were threatened with blackmail for things done-pedophilia, corruption, etc.
Too many if them are invested/paid off by big pharma and insider trading. Corruption, not incompetance.
True. Term limits and/or cleaning the swamp and replacing Congress with an entire new entity is a must.
Corruption and incompetence are often closely associated. The corruption masks the incompetence through bribes, blackmail, blackballing, bully tactics, undermining, reputation tarnishing, etc. Corruption with wealth can hide a great deal of shortcomings.
they have a shiny new distraction.. and
It's our duty to extinguish congress & the prez !
Getting drunk and having orgies on piles of our money! Also busy rigging elections.

Still would have to pass house.
These people just shift from one moral panic to the next. They'll happily complain about how horrible it is Putin is in Ukraine.
Who voted what way?

Five senators, 3 dem 2 repub, weren't present and didn't vote.
Dems: Mark Kelly (Ariz.), Dianne Feinstein (Calif.) and Alex Padilla (Calif.)
Repubs: James Inhofe (Okla.) and Richard Burr (N.C.)
Feinstein ded?
Only from the neck up, her normal state.
Nah. China just told her to stay home.
KEK!
Thanks for that info
So manchin, who has done more for America recently than most βRβ senators and sinema voted D? Deep state politics are interesting

Biden: The pandemic is over!
Senate Rs: Yay!!
Senate Ds: Nay!!
Would that mean the hospitals won't be incentivized to keep killing people anymore?
Now do a national state of emergency on black crime.
FYI, Senate, most of us here have been over it for 2 years.
47 STILL WANT IT...WTF
Symbolic vote to try to hold onto control.
Symbolism will be their downfall.
Doesn't this now go to Biden to get vetoed? This means nothing.
House first, won't pass. Even if it did, yeah he'd veto
I saw four people today in a car all wearing masks. Something tells me that a year from now, I'll still be seeing people driving around with masks on.
smh
Will jabs still be available without the emergency? I think no
What does that change for the day to day?
Not everyone is present at every vote.
They don't get it. It's too late.
Oh fuck them. Never listen to them again
Is this for real? Just out of the blue they held this vote? So random...
I'd vote no because there never was an emergency in the first place. I'm just that edgy.
So no more weekly testing and mask wearing for federal contractors?

We are so screwed.
Elections have consequences, stolen elections have catastrophic consequences!
NZ will be burned to the ground by the Nazis in power.
The Senate? What's that?

There was an emergency?
