I think the main issue is not satire being posted, but satire being posted without labeling as such, then it gets stickied, and only 6 hours later does somebody bring up the fact it's actually a shitpost. I don't know about you but personally within the past couple weeks I've noticed a massive increase in fake posts making it to the top and even being stickied before someone points out its fake.
There's actually a section on the website that says it's a satire site. But Michael Baxter posted in the comments that he was advised to do that so he couldn't be sued for defamation. He did this about a year ago if I remember correctly. Personally, I think disinformation works in many ways that we don't see right away. If nothing else, like I tell the AJ haters, it might make somebody look into things they never considered, even if the initial story is not completely true.
Maybe many of us realized it was garbage, but there was always a contingent that tried to say "Good stories." I know I got attacked over them and Sorcha Faal many times.
