Amazing how deceptive some of the online weather sites are as well. Just read my local forecast for today. Not only is the entire map red, they even tell us how the weather should feel. Right now it's about 78 degrees F, and they're saying the real feel is 87. I'm sitting next to an open door and I'd say it's about a comfortable 75 degrees. They also have a reminder to check on people who don't have air conditioning, and to limit outdoor activities.
I don't see anything wrong with checking on people that don't have A/C, especially the elderly.
Neither do I. But what I was trying to convey (badly), is that even the weather reports are all about ramping up fear. Areas in bright red or orange, hysteria over the high temperatures, all designed to produce fear. It's summer where I live. It gets hot, and always has.
The thing that gets me is that its mid-summer. Summer is hot. What do you expect? People really are flippin dumb to fall for this nonsense.
Just like people getting the flu but for the past 2 years its been called covid instead!.
Now they have all had their injections it will be sold as the worst ever covid variant, as they all get ill and die.

Some of us are also old enough to remember when it was cold in the winter and even snowed. But nowadays, every snowflake is given a scary name with prefix WINTER STORM ______

So nice of them. I just have to look outside at my frozen bird bath in the winter, but glad they're telling me it's cold. So silly. One of my adult children was visiting and asked me to check the outside temperature online. I just opened the door and reported that it was very cold.
Probably just wanted to know if it was 30ºF or closer to zero. I do that. I have this fantastic heated jacket and I only need to supplement with another layer if it's closer to 0.

A few years ago they shifted the colors by 10 to 20 degrees so that 50 is green, 70 is orange, and 80 is red, 90 is dark red, and 100 is death red. Makes the planet look a lot hotter than it is. Fuckers.

We set our air conditioner down to 78, so we don't spend more than we need to. It's comfortably warm.
When we lived in Missouri, which is beastly hot and humid, we kept it at about 80, and compared to outside it was perfect.

The red is much cooler than the green. Red average looks to be about 24 which is 75 Fahrenheit. Sounds like a perfect day to me. We really do live in a clown world.
When I was a kid they always mentioned the record high temperature and record low temperature for that day in history. The weather personalities and sites don’t seem to do that anymore.
Sure, if you want to dig a little you can find it, but they don’t seem to put it out there for daily consumption. Wouldn’t help the narrative to know record highs were set 40 years ago or more.

So 82f is now blazing red in 2022 and 98f in 2017 is just another hot day..
Best thing you can do is get a radar app and your own outdoor thermometer. Learn to watch the radar for storms and different fronts and all that good stuff. I grew up on a farm and was taught to look at the sky and the radar. Only time i watch the weather is during severe weather while having my own radar pulled up.
Even easier is go to the National Weather Service.

weather forecasts are being manipulated right now. weather.gov has been 5 or more degrees wrong on both the daily high and low for my house for a couple weeks straight.
e.g. yesterday high of 100 is really only 94 and low of 74 turns out to be 68
We had a couple days at almost a 100 this year, but mostly lower 80s during the day and upper 50s low 60s at night quite nice. Last year was hot for us but normal temps this year.

Most common form of color blindness can’t differentiate between green and red.
I love that some people actually believe evidence is “debunked” because someone has a different explanation. Not irrefutable evidence, just a different opinion.

They've been color coding weather forever. I'm actually more surprised by the picture above. Anything over 90F would be red, this has always been the case, but NOTHING is above 90F in that picture when converted to fahrenheit, so it really should be orange and green. So this is all just a joke.

I have once never thought we need to discern weather temperature through the Stroop effect. That's some cognitive deception.
