For those who have a hard time translating from Cabalese: Elon was not afraid of the ruling by the judge. The options the board had were 1) Let Elon buy Twitter before midterms for original price 2) Go ahead with the law suit, delay the purchase for a long time, but risk exposing their bot farms and getting lower price, and in the process open themselves to a lawsuit by the shareholders who missed out on the higher price.
I believe behind the scenes, Elon must have made it very clear that with all the whistleblowers he had, he would demolish them in the courts.

Slightly off-topic, but I feel this needs to be said about Elon Musk.
I know it's a very divided community on the subject of Elon Musk, his motivations, his ideals and whether or not he is to be trusted.
Frankly, I don't trust him, but I can count on one hand (and it's almost a closed fist) of how many people I truly trust in this life.
Elon is far from perfect. There's no shortage of past statements by Musk that someone can point to and say "He's trouble".
But I look at all of the publicly visible billionaires of the world. Only one is looking to the future and consistently sending a message of "Hey, we can built it and it's going to be great." He doesn't preach austerity. He preaches about human ingenuity, problem solving and engineering solutions.
That counts for a hell of a lot in my book.

Well spaceForce and starlink have a lot in common and Elon comes off as a genius spy so I’m going on a limb and I’m assuming he is a white hat. Many things his company has attributed to the good.
