/r/the_donald and /r/greatawakening were the best places. The community was massive and extremely active, too much so for reddit to handle. We literally owned reddit back in the day, our voice was EVERYWHERE. Then they closed both subs, and the website became the echo chamber it REALLY is today. It was always filled with echo chambers, but now that's all it is: one giant echo chamber. That website, alongside diggers on the chans, uncovered pizzagate, for God sake. Now, they claim anything child exploitation related is some right wing conspiracy. I really hope the claim that the internet is like 80% bots stirring shit up is true, cause I find those 180 turns across all social media platforms to ALL start leaning left is too far fetched to believe.

It really sucks that the internet is so saturated on like 5 platforms, it was always so fun being on the equivalent of a rally every night. Since most people didn't feel like leaving for new sites, the tyrants tactic of splitting and silencing us while amplifying their own voice, really worked. Thank God for the .win team, though. It's been a slow but steady stream upwards, and it feels like we're getting back to it being high energy 24/7, just like those early days.

Remember when T_D was ALL of the posts on the Front Page due to a "glitch?" Good times.

I had fond memories of digging through Clinton/Podesta emails with fellow pedes on T_D and uncovering Pizzagate in real time.

this is what made a bunch of us comfy on the chans. i'd been lurking. this pushed me to have my own notables.

Reddit was destroyed through the obvious methods varying groups employ provided they're able to pressure the upper levels of staff / leadership:

1. Bots that post narrative-supporting information.
2. Encourage positive responses and mass-downvote-spam any dissenting opinions. If they're big users / a problem, falsify a ban or distraction-reason, or just leak their information for hackers.
3. For moderated reddit stuff, simply have 'controlled accounts' or bots spam banned / illegal information, downright disgusting, etc.
4. Get news to make it a 'big deal' / encourage a crackdown. Or, apply Youtube method of waiting for 'the people' to notice, and then push for a crackdown.

Congrats, you've subverted a site through a variety of modern methods, resulting in them either pushing your agenda, falling in line, or outright leaving.

Well, THESE are most definitely shit days.

The good old days were when we were all outside playing with our friends and riding bikes without a helmet and only a few cars went by, slowing down so they didn't clip us... meanwhile, dad was at work, mom was taking care of the house and actually cooking meals with actual nutrition, that didn't come out of a box.

The corded phone rang in an empty room... friends would stop by on the weekends and maybe have a soft drink sweetened with real sugar or coffee with cream, not refrigerated soybean oil (WTF?). Later on, tell-a-vision would GO OFF at midnight after the national anthem, because only bums stayed up all night.

Yes, ignorance was bliss...cue Cypher from the matrix. Some days...
