I live in a red state but blue city. Had to take my Dad to the ER last night (he's fine thank God).
The narrative is already ramping up that hospitals are getting a bit overwhelmed and schools are canceling classes over this 'new surge', and some colleges are trying to enforce masks again.
The ER was empty when we first got there. No one wore a mask. Not even the woman at the front desk. The NP that came in wore a mask at first because it was unknown what my Dad had, but once he was given the all clear, she no longer had a mask.
She also suggested a Covid/flu test. We shut that down immediately and she was totally cool about it.
Was really nice to experience, and honestly, everyone we dealt with last night was wonderful.
