Great post! The entire feminist movement was a psyop to drive women into the workforce. The fact they equated women’s rights to getting out of the house and working just about tells you all you need to know. Why did the pro abortio

Yup, this 👆🏻. One of the Rothschild told his friend- we created the Feminist Movement. Why have only one taxpayer in the family when we can have two and have the kids raised by the education system that we control. All our lives are part of a Truman type experience

In the movie, he works at a parts stamping factory IIRC. She's the love interest and visits him at work one day. Assembly line fun ensues.

Excellent Meme. Sex and the City, later in the 2000's, also seemed to have a similar agenda of convincing women to go live in the big cities.

Yupp, its all so formulaic. Woman who has it all... but only if she goes to work at a big corporation and fucks her way across America. Additional virtious points are gien every time they fuck a non-white person. Then pepper in some Moms are slaves comments here and there and boom. You got the average tv show.

My wife and I loved watching Mad Men simply because of the sets, with their mid-century decor and furnishings. We actually have the same argyle "bowling pin" lamp that is in Pete's office, as well as the cool red/orange round ashtray that was in the boss' office.

As much as we love all that, we still couldn't stomach Don Draper's cheating, misogynistic ways. He had a beautiful wife and children at home, but couldn't keep it in his pants while he was in the city. Hell, none of the men in that show could keep it in their pants.

I think Good Times was such a better show than One Day at a Time. It had two hard working parents trying to raise their children right. Even thought they were in the middle of the ghetto, they appeared to do a pretty good job keeping the kids out of trouble.

What did the Waltons do to us , and Andy Griffith

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– Picador_20 2 points 2 years ago +2 / -0

The famous Pickle Episode of Andy Griffith promoted the idea that store-bought pickles were always better than home-made pickles, a concept that pleased sponsors like General Foods.

All TV in the 1960s lulled people into a sense of comfort and complacency to distract them from the misadventures of the Military Industrial Complex..

The Waltons worked hand-in-hand with other sentimental nostalgia series like Happy Days and contrasted beautifully with with modern, cynical shows like All in the Family and Lotsa Luck to reinforce the idea that "the good old days" when women stayed at home and a man could support his family on one income were well and truly over.

▲ 12 ▼
– GGRockz 12 points 2 years ago +12 / -0

I think another reason was to get a two family income.

This now allows them to raise prices and collect more tax money.

If women refused and stayed home things would drastically be different.

Gloria Steinem. (from wiki) -CIA - voice elevated by design

Despite her influence in the feminist movement, Steinem also earned criticism from some feminists as well, who questioned whether she was committed to the movement or using it to promote her glamorous image.[64] The Redstockings also singled her out for agreeing to cooperate with the CIA-backed Independent Research Service.[64] It was also acknowledged that Steinem worked as a CIA agent when this operation was taking place.[65][66]

So the washer/dryer, vaccum and all these modern home appliances had nothing to do with it? Women no longer had to labor as hard to make the house run- they gained extra time in the day-- why not work? Would you rather they sat and ate bons bons until the kids came home from school? My mom raised 8 based badasses- AND she taught many many, many more- she magnified her reach- but fuck her, she shoudda stayed home like a good little obedient wife

This is the second time I’ve seen this argument against housewives today, the invention of washing machines and vacuums suddenly means women should work outside the home. Shill much? So obedient to her husband is terrible but going to work and being obedient to her male boss is based? Instead of using the extra time to create art, write books, nurture a hobby, make her own breads, pastas, sauces, do some deep cleaning, organizing, it’s better she work 8 hrs a day and leave the state to raise her children? She should work meaningless tasks for a corporation, so her family is taxed twice now to the government, go to the store after a 8 hr day and buy easy prepackaged, processed meals with cabal poison so she can slap together a quick meal and do the house work she could’ve spent all day doing. Sounds like a life of joy.

Um, this is intended as a joke right?

Laverne DeFazio & Shirley Feeney didn't have dream jobs. They had working-class jobs on an assembly line. They put bottecaps on beer bottles.

Also what's the deal about the big city? We are aware that women live in big cities aren't we? Also the big city was Milwaukee. Not then or now a glamour city. in fact, Laverne grew up in Brooklyn, so her family moved to smaller city.

You are aware that working class women worked right?

Also the show is set in the 1950s.....shortly after the 1940's when women went to work in factories to make up the shortage of male workers who went about to war.

Lenny was truck driver. Squiggy was a greaser or a parody of greaser

Shirley dated a boxer.

I mean did anyone watch this show?

Watch the last seasons where you not only get Laverne and Carrie Fisher (Shirley had left by that point) becoming Hugh Hefner's bunny girls -- MKULTRA and CIA "ownership" symbolism.

Same season it's set mid 60s, and they have an episode with a Paul McCartney double mixup plot, referencing Paul's murder and replacement in 1966.

Laverne's actress was married to Rob Reiner.

The further feminisation of Lenny and Squiggy came in an episode of The Nanny in the 90s, where a character played by David Lander and implied to be Squiggy, is the gay landlord and makes a sex joke about "my partner Leonard".

Fran Drescher was also part of that extended circle, having been in Spinal Tap with Reiner.

They made a few attempts at a spin off, one being Lenny and Squiggy Join the Army, which failed and got retooled into the Laverne and Shirley cartoon where they join The Army for some reason.

To me, it looks like the CIA agents in the industry, were tasked with pushing military engagement, at the same time they were pushing peace propaganda of the "don't attack the Communists " variety.
