Bravo!! This reads a little bit like the Declaration of Independence, where the Founders laid out the case of the American Colonies' disagreements with King George. This is a declaration aimed at King Buy-Den. I love the tone of this letter, it's the stuff that revolutions are made of.
The American Empire is dying. Long live the American Republic!
Agreed. This is more than a strongly worded letter. I like it.
Reminds me of an old office joke.
Memo: F#@k you!! Strongly worded letter to follow.
If only we had had strong Governor like Abbott back in 2015 we could have done this way back when…./s So why did he wait 9 years and why is he doing anything now.? This is like putting on a condom after dropping 6 bareback loads down the hatch.
u/#what
He no longer need to capitulate to another election for votes?
i ask again...who cut Abbotts wheels...er i mean strings
When you see your state being destroyed and your citizens are in danger it wakes you up.
Um, kinda. When you see your state is in danger and the people are HIGHLY PISSED off about what’s happening on their property, in the schools and TO their society, you tend to wake up. Texans come armed, we’re not so big on making posters and marching around.
Amen.
He's now acting without blue states and citizens attacking him. They have been woken up through their own experiences with this issue.
Probably just listening to the sentiment being expressed by his citizens
Tx citizen agrees
tldr; fuck you, you broke the contract between the federal government to protect the states, fuck you, fuck you, also the forefathers say fuck you, we're gonna protect the borders our way now cuz the constitution. Also fuck you, signed Greg Abbot
Nice summary, however I do believe you left out at least one FJB.
Comment of the day. You win the internet.
I like this version a lot better! Let's just get straight to the point and tell you how we really feel.
This is hopefully where we finally cross the line into following the Constitution as written regardless of the courts.
this is a big deal…
This
I will go out on a limb here and declare that SCOTUS knew exactly what they were doing when they nullified the injunction the other day while that case is adjudicated by the 5th Circuit. Now that case is over barricades in the Rio Grande but the real issue here is Article 4 Section 4. It was by nullifying the injunction that this declaration by Abbott was triggered. Now when this reaches SCOTUS it will be a question surrounding Article 4 Section 4 and the issue of Federalism vs State Sovereignty that has been argued since the very inception of our Republic. This goes to the very heart of our understanding of our Republic and the underpinnings of our nation.
Whats one of Trumps favorite catch phrases? "Complicated business, folks."
Agreed. SCOTUS did this on purpose with good reason. Sometimes you have to re-break a bone to get it to heal correctly.
Yea even the awakened have problems allowing emotion to rule them rather than logic. Even in this thread you see 'Texas says fuck you' type comments over rational thoughts trying to parse out what is exactly going on. 72 hour rule before you fly off the handle.
Wonder if this is beginning of states taking back their power… drilling, EPA, borders etc. The attorney generals have been filing lawsuits one after the other for their states. This will be interesting to watch play out.
This question has plagued us since the very beginning of the Republic and I think it is at the root of who we are and how we choose to govern ourselves. Its high time we put this issue to rest.
The Constitution makes it clear that the States are sovereign and limits the feds power to only that which is explicitly outlined in the Constitution. But those States rights have been eroded and the States coerced with Federal grants to relinquish that sovereignty. At the same time, there has been a two century long gaslighting and propaganda effort against the People to force them into the belief that the Feds rightfully maintain all the power.
I think this border issue is not only going to prove that the feds act with treasonous intent but also educate the People by showing them that the Federal governments main purpose is to ensure the sovereignty of the States. In a similar vein and parallel to this battle, the Chevron doctrine has eroded the rights of the People and given them to unelected bureaucrats.
With these issues resolved, the bloated federal government can be peacefully dismantled and we can get back to the original intent of the Framers.
Wow. Spicy. Let's see what habbens.
Can we stop paying taxes yet? If the Fed Govn't isn't doing it's constitutional duty to secure the borders and protect Americas then there's no need to fund them.
The Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights are all based on Natural Law, so we have a Natural Law right to self-defense.
"damn straight" is what first comes to mind. Proud to be in TX. NCSWIC!
He should have added a nice salutation at the end of the letter.
I guess "Love, Texas" could work, but I'd prefer a much simpler one:
FAFO,
Texas

Hey, good for governor Abbott. This is the kind of stuff that we need to happen. We need states to stand app and exercise their rights.
Me thinking Paxton and Trump are the root cause for this letter and actions by the great state of Texas.
Would have been nice if you did it 3 years ago.
Now let's see Commiefornia, Arizona, and New Mexico do the same!!
Sounds like a case against Biden which should be. IMPEACH!
I really like the fact that Abbott pointed out that the Rio Grande is dangerous, and that there are 28 legal entryways where no drowning needs to happen. I also appreciate that he pointed out that the cartels are smuggling people--they are being trafficked. This is a humanitarian issue; our federal government is aiding and abetting cartels in racketeering via human slavery, sex trafficking, and organ harvesting. This is true regardless of some of the illegals being and possibly becoming terrorists. This is how the United States wakes up--we need to start caring about humans again. What happened to all the concern about children being placed in cages under Obama? Does no Democrat, or any American for that matter, care that these people are being raped, drowned, sold, tortured, or eaten/harvested while others are given a free phone, thousands of dollars, an airway ticket, SNAP/EBT benefits, VA healthcare, and VA housing? The whole situation is awful. This needs to be fixed right now, per our Constitution as a Republic, and once the border is secured and Biden is removed per our Constitution along with all of the other bad actors in Congress, we need to return to a Constitutional Republic, with common law in place. If we don't reinstate common law, new leaders will just emerge and commit new forms of racketeering.
Many people ask why Abbott didn't do something sooner. I point out that we are not even through January yet, and have had a massive number of reveals and dramas already, about 30 movies worth. Maybe this was supposed to be one of them, and is happening on schedule.
war were declared
Love to see it. Men like this will save America
The Rubicon is within spitting distance for somebody, the question is who.
This is how you give the big middle finger to the Biden Admin and make it professional
Up yours SCOTUS.
Like they say, "Don't Mess with Texas"
FINALLY.
COME AND TAKE IT.
Why doesn't Texas use non-lethal weapons like a sound/pain ray on people in the river, while playing "Go back" in Spanish on loudspeakers?
Well boys, we're off to TX!
YEP....REMEMBER the Alamo !!!

Where do I sign up for a citizen militia? Target practice is fun.
your final comment is what frightens teams that train on the regular. 95% of the work out there isn't "target practice" . do some homework.
Broken the compact? 🤨 They broke Texas little make up mirror?
"Returning power to you, the people..."
People say Abbot is a fake globalist? I have no clue.
