That's how it should be. Foreignborn do not get to be President (unless they can get the intel communities and media to deny it hah) nor should any who owe allegiance to a foreign country, and none of these should be allowed for any office in the U.S.

I disagree with Massie on this renounce bullshit. No renouncing allowed. If you have EVeR held citizenship anywhere other than USA that should immediately and absolutely disqualify you from ANY govt position. pERIOD no if ands or buts. Not even as a dmv clerk 💯 American or nothing at all. I’d even go as far as say both parents have to be natural citizens as well. That would even disqualify me but I know the possibility conflict of interest is too damn high

Counterpoint is that I have met many children of immigrants who are far bigger patriots than many of the natural-born patriots in comparison. On the flip side, many natural-born Americans are morons and scum unworthy of their name.

Honestly, we should have a "super citizenship", and only super citizens can serve in any government role and vote. You can't be a super citizen and be a citizen of any other country, and you must swear an oath to this country and her people.
I would prefer all elected officials be at least a third generation citizen.

I'll go you one better. If you have had dual citizenship any time after your majority (i.e. 18th birthday) you should be ineligible for any public office due to conflict of interest.
This is the FIRST person from Congress to go on record as saying there are MOC with dual-citizenships. The origin of the dual citizen theory originated from an Italian-Palestinean who made the claim. The problem is none of it is public record so it's always been rumor.
No Minimum. If they are going to represent the USA, they need to renounce citizenship in other countries. Otherwise how will we know their loyalties.

I would like to add to that law: Any US citizen who runs for office or apply for a civil servant position must have only been a US citizen and not held another citizenship to any foreign nation for 10 years prior to running for office or applying for a position as a civil servant.
To help with the transition I would add a grandfather clause to those already in civil servant positions, but not to those holding elected office.

My idea is better: Dual citizenship is no longer recognized. Announce a date and anyone who hasn't denounced or left by that date will have their US citizenship revoked, have all their assets confiscated, and be forcibly deported to the closest Country they still have citizenship in.
And gets 2 boosters at once! We have already paid for these jabs, why not use them.
