First, I encourage everyone to be extra alert in the coming days and weeks if the Foodsatmp program remains unfunded due to the shutdown (which is what I understand will happen). There is a percentage, perhaps large, of FS recipients who will resort to crime to satisfy their basic need for food. Personally I hope I can help people out if they are in my path.
Anyway, the bigger point.... Walmart and other food corps will take a big hit. It could cause a ripple effect in the economy, as in Black Swan. In fact, I wonder how long before cabal handlers tell Dems to cave because the impact on large corps is too great.
But, maybe this is the match to light the fire... hunger causes humans to cross lines. Perhaps that is why the NG is deployed, too.
Anyway, just thinking about my Anon community and hoping you, your families and friends stay safe, and that we each discern the role we need to play day by day as this unfolds.
Godspeed.
I think this is part of the reset. People that are on EBT will have to re-apply perhaps and then we can remove 20 million illegals off the program!
THIS ^^^^^
At the same time thousands of hobs at walmart are opening up.
I love an open hob
Well as they say, a closed hob is a wonderful thing to lose.
What are you guys hobnobbing about?
Hey hey heyโฆleave my nob out of thisโฆ
In this day n age who would be without a damn HOB!
Hobos
hobgobblins?
LMAO!
food warming shelf in a fireplace? oh job, sorry.
Same emotional roller coaster ride that I took
Hey, I rejected "stovetop, British slang" out of hand, so there's that.
24 hour Walmart when?
Illegal: Now what do I do?
Trump Admin: We can send you back home for free and with money in your pocket.
Excellent insight!
There's already news stories running in FL about this. One story in Orlando highlighted two people: a single mother of four, and an elderly woman. Both of a certain color. The single mom was driving a late model car. Looked to be a top line Honda Accord, and judging by the looks of it, it's a car that's less than 5 yrs old. The story indicated (through the use of emotionally charged buzz words and inflection) that she pays $2.5K for rent and is now thinking about a second job to help make sure meds meet. It also indicated she has a Bachelor's degree, but failed to mention what the degree is for. The elderly lady looked to be somewhat physically handicapped, probably on SSDI. The news but was filmed at a local food bank, and also highlighted how the food banks are now struggling due to the shutdown because they're Federally subsidized programs.
The high rent I can understand, since all of FL has seen rental and purchase prices go up by as much as 35% over the last 3 yrs. And an elderly, possibly disabled person having difficulty making ends meet is very understandable.
HOWEVER, if your paying almost $3K for a home, and also driving around a $30K+ car, there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON WHATSOEVER to be filing for any kind of assistance. To me, the story highlights the issues with people overspending and living beyond their means in a gross way.
The amount of greed in this society is sickening. The mom was interviewed as she was filling her car trunk with the free food bank boons, with herself and kids wearing clothing anyone on assistance shouldn't be able to afford. I came away from the story feeling angry at the mother, rather than the government.
As for myself, I'm a Disable Vet, only have a 60% rating from the V.A., am in between "jobs" at the moment, am myself a single parent with full custody, don't receive one cent of child support and haven't since the marriage imploded, my children (a minor and 3 adult children living with me) and I help care for my elderly parents, yet I DON'T collect any kind of govt assistance other than the measly V.A. money. If I would file, it would be for Medicaid insurance for my daughter, but the last time I filed for it I was turned down because I made too much money. At that time I was employed with a fairly good paying job, but the insurance plan with that company was expensive and with my income at the time, ObummerCare wanted to charge me $1800/mth just for my daughter. I was only making 16/hr then, but had regular 60+ hour work weeks, so I was making what effectively was the equivalent of $25/hr at 40 hrs/wk.
My point is, most of these assholes getting regular welfare assistance are well...assholes. I know plenty of Vets like myself that either don't qualify just based on their V.A. income, or have found other ingenious ways of making the money they need to live a good and decent life WITHOUT resorting to government sponsored theft of taxpayer money. With today's technology, there's no reason at all that these assholes sucking up welfare assistance can't get off their fat, lazy asses and find a way to make ends meet.
If I and my fellow Vets can do it with destroyed bodies, high levels of anxiety and depression, and social issues that would put most people in bed permanently or in the ground, then so can anyone. Even though I would love to be able to file for a rating increase with the V.A., yet can't at the moment due to the shutdown, I hope that when the government does get back to work, all these people have to refile and get denied.
Now would be the perfect time for the States to pass legislation that changes their rules regarding welfare assistance so these asssholes quit relying on the taxpayers.
First, thank you for your service and for your ethics!
Second... well said. You should make that a post!
Amen.
Thank you for your service.
Mostly agree, but a 30k car isn't a shocker anymore. The accord starts at 29k. So if you buy from a dealer, destination fees alone can push you over 30k.
The cheapest car I've seen recently is a corolla for 23k. A corolla.
If she did it right (no way to tell) she bought a used rental car that's 3 years old with 40k miles for 40-60% off retail through a good lender.
There are places that will sell you "cheap cars" where you get something for 15k and 30% interest. But that's as expensive as the OMG 30k accord would be.
The auto industry as a whole has turned into a bear trap since covid happened.
It was going south before that. Obummer's Cash For Clunkers nuked the affordable used car market.
Cash for clunkers didn't hurt the used car market as much as people claimed. All it did was set a floor price for used cars for the next two to three years. By 2012, the effect was mostly over.
It was a stupid move, but its effect was exaggerated because a lot of people were trying to trade down at the same time so it fucked up people's perceptions.
Ever heard of a used car or truck?
Seeing as I specifically discussed them......yes.
rare to find a worthwhile used one for under 2-3k.
The prices have skyrocketed since COVID. On used vehicles as well.
Thank you for your service.
One of the other scams I've witnessed first hand here in New England was a man using his EBT card at ALDI to purchase 20 loaves of bread, and 10 packets of hot dogs, load them into his car and then drive over to Walmart to possibly do the same thing. The worker at ALDI said that these people sell the food to the local Mom & Pop to make a profit.
They aren't allowed to restrict their purchases even though they are gaming the system.
I think it will be a lesson to a lot of people; if you depend on the government for food, it can be easily taken away.
"Sometimes you must show them."
If folks have been prepping for years, then they won't have too much to worry about, unless they yearn for fresh fruits and veggies. Otherwise most preppers are pretty well stocked up on necessities for six months to a year. I'd say the vast amount of GAW members fall into the category of hard core prepper or semi wannabe prepper. I think this community will be fine. It's the lefties that will be losing their minds if they cannot get their daily fix of candy bars or sports drinks.
Agreed. I was only saying that we need to be extra watchful with respect to those who are not prepped.
If this event goes over a month, the loss of life would be staggering.
Stocked locked and ready!!!
^ This is the way. ^
Pantry and fridge full. No need to participate in the coming grocery store skirmishes.
We had a 30 day warning. No one should be surprised.
Many of the people receiving EBT are abusing the system. There is a need for vast reform. When someone complains because they can no longer get their steak and lobster, come on. Reform EBT: no purchase of sodas or other sweetened drinks including juices with added sugar or high fructose corn syrup, no prepared/processed meals, meats, cheeses (including anything with nitrates), no bakery purchases, alcohol or junk snacks (Ex.: potato chips, Cheetos, Doritos, pretzels). Fresh, frozen and canned fruits, unsweetened juices and vegetables are okay. Beef, chicken, pork, turkey in their natural state are okay. Ban seed oils and products containing seed oils from coverage: corn, soy, vegetable, adulterated olive oils, etc. Also ban fake meats, bugs and other insects from coverage. If you want to buy these products, you can, but not with EBT. Ban sweetened, artificial colors, and preservatives foods from coverage. Anyone found selling their EBT is immediately removed from coverage. Here is a radical thought: limit lifetime coverage to one year. Beyond that time, one must repay with interest any further coverage. This federal aid includes housing, EBT, medical care, school financial aid. One year will provide assistance, not a hand out. Exceptions will be mentally and physically handicapped veterans, permanently or end stage disabled citizens (such as vaccine injured, end stage renal disease, end stage cancer. Establish, free, on-line or in person basic shopping, cooking and, budgeting classes.
Totally agree. And my point was not that they should turn the spigot back on.
The garbage food is really a distraction from what is really going on w/EBT: money laundering and black market.
EBT black market is a cottage industry in poor communities. Get as many signups as possible, buy product, sell it for cash. Product goes to neighborhood "market" and is sold below retail price.
I'm not certain how, but it wouldn't shock me to see pricing corrections if EBT is fixed/improved. Really hope we get it shutdown for a few days just so the full ramifications can be seen. Ain't no one starving in a couple days. Flush 'em out and see what appears.
So you complain that people can buy steak and lobster and then remove basically everything but the fresh meat counter and produce aisle? ๐
The reason all of that crap is purchasable on ebt in the first place is because people spent 20 years complaining that people were buying real food with it while they didn't qualify and had to buy Mac and Cheese and ketchup.
No bakery purchases? No bread or rolls?
Nope. The wheat produced in the U.S. is bad for the gut. The grain and flour industry additives need to be banned. European countries have already done so, their bread is healthier. We, in the U.S., have been screwed in the food we eat, the air we breathe and the water we drink.
They have to take us out like that because they ainโt got the balls to try and do it the fighting way! Scared Little Bitches.
Be careful walking to your car. Have pepper spray in your hand before you step outside the store.
Look around as you walk into and out of the store.
Look in car windows as you pass by.
Check your 6; look behind you as you walk to your car.
I have my two friends with me at all times. Smith and Wesson.
Screw pepper spray.
Although I heard wasp spray works well.
Fren you have the same exact frens! How Odd
Yes.
That tracks Wasp spray is just roach spray under high pressure.
Kek.
I would not rely on wasp, or any bug spray, in self defense
Me either.
Great advice! And, look beneath your car.
Some ppl have no choice... Mine is a disabled husband. But I'm taking in a few more hours to try to make it work, otherwise we would definitely starve.
It's a risk. He can't be alone long. Praying he can be ok while I'm not home.
There are people who are very deserving of assistance, I do not include them in my generalization. Our safety net was intended for people like your husband, and I hope and pray that you'll be okay through this transition. Hang in there.
Ty =)
I'll pray for you as well Sumthnag. Maybe some friends and/or neighbors can sit with your husband. Be strong. The Lord will take of you.
Ty =)
God will provide.
He always does. Tyvm.
I heard there's something going around on tik tok saying on Nov 3rd from 6 to 7pm that people will walk out with carts unpaid. That if they stick together the cops can't stop them all at once. ๐คทโโ๏ธ mindset of a liberal I guess
Some thief trying to get suckers to give him cover
This will probably prove to be the first time the welfare people in America show the full extent of their parasitic sensibility to all Americans. I am very apprehensive about this.
Wonder if any of these complaining food stamp recipients are stocking up on food for the days ahead. They have two weeks to prepare
I bet not... otherwise they'd probably be in a different position in life. In other words, forethought and planning are common among successful people.
Chances are their funds are too tight to buy ahead. Are you a church member? Churches may need to help those in their congregations who are SNAP recipients.
A Walmart cashier (in OK) said many Walmarts across the country are talking about closing and only offering pre-paid online orders with pick-up. The employees are afraid of mass robbing and stealing, and customers being jumped in the parking lot while loading groceries.
Very interesting. I wonder what the fake media will show, and how they'll spin it.
And if you're a Walmart employee, how keen are you going to be on the responsibility of leaving the store with the groceries to put into the back of the car that is waiting?
Seriius question here: How exactly, within our own neighborhoods or community, do we identify seniors and handicapped who are going to be hurt by this. Any ideas how to work around privacy issues to know who needs help? The old stories about the elderly eating canned cat food were not fabrications. And it is not at all humorous to be hungry for some meat and cheese and things to mix it into. Protein. Nothing takes it's place.
Churches do help but it is usually a set dollar amount, one time. Or, their food banks. But you cannot go to a regular food bank frequently. Many are once a month only. And in AZ, they are not abundantly stocked, either. It is incredible, the difference, between AZ food pantries and, for instance, Georgia. Holy moley! But then in AZ we know we get the short end of the stick, because, it spends most of it's money paying living expenses for illegals!!! Yes! I hope that is going to change soon.
The Mormon churches do supply food boxes to their members in need, weekly, and you can work at the storehouses, in exchange for the help.
Try actually keeping an eye on your neighbors who are older and living in isolation. You know what else I don't want, is for them to not be able to feed their dog or kitty.
If you have a pet food bank at a rescue in your town maybe they can share clues about what households are hurting. I am grateful for how kind my little town is.
NextDoor is run by libtards but I have noticed that they are networking well.
People who never needed a food bank, can be snotty and superior about people who do. And going to one, can be humiliating and depressing. Worthy people go. And so do free-loaders and fakers. But only God can see the difference.
Wonderful insights. Thanks for posting. I think the faith-based communities could help, and they do help... but... getting the word out to those who are too proud for handouts and yet are truly needy because they have no income except a pitiful social security check is critical. The older generation typically still reads the newspaper. Maybe asking the paper to do a free public service announcement about the available resources in the community would be a good idea.
On the nextdoor app everyone has been sharing this website locally. Looks like it's pretty widespread. https://foodfinder.us/
This IMO is why we have NG all over the blue cities currently. It will quickly become riot control.
Virginia, Louisiana, and now Hawaii have opened emergency funds. I expect other states to follow if the feds don't get their shit together.
Yep. I was happy to read that. I also read somewhere that it's 25 states who currently haven't covered Nov EBT for their people.
Plot twist: maybe potus orders the NG to distribute emergency food aid, forcing all the dependent TDS sufferers who have been spewing hatred toward the NG, to have to confront them as human beings in order to get food services?? That would be BEAUTIFUL!
Love that. I had a similar thought... maybe Trump saves the day and showcases the Dems as demons, again.
People, get ready to eat MRE's (those aren't bad, actually).
I just hope Social Security disability isn't cut off.
I still haven't gotten mine for this month, and I wonder if the shutdown is responsible.
I know it will work out in the long run, but damn it, it hurts right now.
EDIT: Two hours after I posted this, the first of the two monthly checks came in. Thank God.
Dang! Hang in there! I wish GAW could allow personal contacts and even better... help us build a community of like-minded people who could support one another. I'm not rich, but I would help you and other Anons out as much as possible.
I got mine
i know someone whose parents own a multi million dollar home in Cape Cod and collect food stamps simply because they can. They're rich too, vacations and cruises all year long. Scumbags.
And another guy I used to know traded his food stamps for drugs, so there ya go
My husband is a fed. One of his coworkers goes to all the local food pantries so she doesn't have to buy groceries. She can afford her own food.
Amen....stay safe. Hopefully it will all be over in a year or two.
I hope those they manage to arrest or get their faces on camera will be banned from EBT in the future and trespassed for life from entering those stores.
I was in my local walmart (rural community) today and the place was packed. I hardly ever go in there but needed to pick up a few items. People had their carts filled to the brim. Many of them Hispanics with large bags of rice and multiple cans of beans etc.
It was meant as a temporary program until you got on your feet. So people took it to be a permanent program so they can live off other people the rest of their lives.
Compassion for these people will not come easily . Going on social media with your bad attitude and fat face will only aggravate the ones that can help
Very true!! And I will admit, I am not keen on providing such compassion. Not at first. A dose of reality and accountability is necessary for such people, and if that lands them in jail, so be it. The compassion occurs AFTER they have had reached bottom and consciously choose to change, and agree to the steps to making a change.
It's time to end all welfare programs. Steeling money from one group of people to give it to another group of people who don't work is wrong.
Don't whine to me about how cruel it is to cut off the free money give away. The money isn't free. It is stolen from people who worked for it and rightfully own it, and the perverse government steels is and gives it away to garner their votes.
Who's whining? That wasn't my point. I agree with you... although, there are people who through no fault of their own (accidents leading to a disability, for example) who are deserving of our compassion. The hard part is the discernment as to who is truly deserving, and who is not. And, is that a state issue or a federal issue? If it's a state issue, then it won't be consistent across the 50 states. When our Founding Fathers conceived of the Bill of Rights, I don't think they ever imagined the complexity of our culture and economic system--and there is a percentage of the population--our fellow citizens--who truly do need assistance lest they fall into the gutter. We are country of smart people, and we should be able to figure out how to help those who truly need help, and prevent the system abusers from abusing the system.
Didnโt mean to imply you whine, but all the liberals who always whine that without welfare people will starve. The Apostle Paul said, โ if you donโt work then you donโt eat.โ God said to Adam, โby the sweat of your brow you shall eat,โ Here's a clip of the 'truly' deserving, all created by LBJ and his Great Society. https://youtube.com/shorts/7Vud5lNuaJ8?si=yE-HAR9s24JG4Qi5
Thanks for that. Totally agree, and the clip is... effective. Saddening, but effective at explaining and showing the problem. The real problem is that the keepers of the program allowed the program to be hijacked by politicians to create dependence. If we fix that, and we have better ways of discerning the truly deserving (the lepers, for example, if you want a Biblical reference), then maybe there's a chance it can be fixed.
On a related note... you can't just rip something away without offering a path to success. I've often struggled with this philosophically. A broken system creates broken people... and if you take away the system and the benefit, you still have broken people who do not have the knowledge, skills and attitudes to succeed in the normal world. And man-o-man have a lot of such broken people been created. So, just like the video clip shows... they will resort to criminal activity. And there are not enough jails to hold them all, for starters.
In Indiana, back in the 90's, they institute a policy where you had time limits to receive benefits, and at the same time skill-building and training and supports were offered to those who had either ended up on welfare or who had grown up in it and who were behind in "adulting". The program was hugely successful. Not sure if it's still like that because I don't live there anymore. Anyway, if we fix one problem and create another, then we're no better off.
I don't know what the solution is, but certainly the idea of reining in welfare is a top priority--we just have to empower people to be successful. And if they choose not to, well... I guess maybe I want to invest in the industry of incarceration, and/or buy and lease cemetery ground.
I think there are ways to limit welfare. LBJ was the architect of the welfare system and in its implementation he destroyed the black family. His rules said no welfare if an eligible working age man is living at the home. So the black fathers moved out for the free money Second, the more children a mother had, the more money see could get. Unwed motherhood exploded, and now welfare moms have 8 or 9 kids.
To fix it :
Just for starters that would reduce welfare by 75% in 5 years.
Love this!!
All the reform they did around welfare, but they left food stamps untouched. At one time, if you were on welfare (cash assistance), you got paid per person. IE you had baby on top of baby, the money went up and up. They finally capped it at one or two kids and you HAD to go to work training, apply for jobs and work. At least some. I think they added time limits later also. But they did nothing about food stamps. The more kids, the more "money". And yes, people buy alcohol, drugs, whatever with them. They just go to the grocery store for the dealer. Or friend who's gonna BUY it.
This didn't happen by the system being hijacked, it was carefully planned and the people that fell for it were born just for this
You are correct to show compassion and free to voice your concerns. This is not going to be easy and solving a complex issue that has been created over generations will need a completely new approach
Think of all that food not being given away. Grocery shelves just packed with food. Then the panic pricing by the grocery chains. I hope to getting back to 100.00 for groceries. As it stands now 250.00 for half a grocery cart. YOU ARE GOING TO SEE WHAT HAS BEEN DONE TO OUR MONEY.
I agree it's part of the precipice, but I feel like everybody in these comments misses the actual point.
Sigh... yeah... that happens : )
So what's the point
Let's just say, there's a reason the white hats say this is more than a "band-aid" fix.
I heard that 1 in 8 are on SNAP! It's high time to fix this system and I agree, lock your doors and be vigilant
I hope this cuts into the hedge funds and kicks off margin calls!
I want to see them suffer like I did while I watched them get free food while I paid for the last 12 years or so. I want to hear them complain.
I agree but I don't like to see people suffer.
There are many on the take and shouldn't be.
Since I work at the Welfare office I can say without a shadow of doubt only 10 % of those receiving food stamps are actually deserving of them. The sad part is that the ones who should be getting a bigger amount, the elderly and the disabled are usually only getting $23 a month.
Exactly why I quit applying for it. Wasn't worth the bs required to get it. Wtf you gonna really buy with $16? For an adult and a 7 yr old boy? Ridiculous
So sad.
Shop this week for perishables...

"Mother's Day" is on Saturday... the 1st ... Same as every other month. ๐
According to this: https://x.com/WallStreetApes/status/1982683459102621756
12.5% of the population is on the gibs....

A possible side effect is that the food demand will go down and the prices with it.
Hadn't thought of this... could be very possible. Time to stock up!!
Feed the real Americans or feed the illegals. Lots will cross party lines.
Interesting take and thoughts on this matter.

We have a nice church based food distribution program in our county. People pick up any extra food from retailers that has reached its pull date, and it gets inspected for ability to safely distribute for a few more days. The program collects donations and grants, buying "staples", and accepts donations from farms too. This gives a lot of food a second life, as well as the recipients.
Nothing wrong with Walmart going out of business. I think its all opart of the plan as well.
