Plant based burgers are not new, and they're good. We didn't need to create "something more burger like" to try and bring more people to it.
Their attempts to replicate burgers seems a little brain dead.
I like a plant based burger now and then. Like a mushroom burger where all of the ingredients are able to be parsed.
Don't know why we need all these chemicals and Planned Parenthood refuse in our burgers when people had already resolved a flavorful burger substitute that was already good.

I was going to say the same thing. The thing that bothered me with the plant-based burgers is that they intentionally tried to market them as replacements for meat and intentionally putting them in the meat section. They taste great and all, but vegetarians aren’t interested in meat and people who eat meat aren’t interested in becoming vegetarians.
I only know one person who doesnt eat meat. My niece cant even stand the sight of meat. She drinks milk and eats cheese but the sight of meat disgusts her. I think most real vegetarians are like this. So they would not even consider something that looks like meat but isnt.

I can understand it if someone is doing the vegetarian movement for religious reasons or if it is health reasons, then they should be replacing processed food for unprocessed foods (like salads). But impossible burger and beyond burger… these are just as bad as processed food. It’s not any healthier.

Vegan fake foods used to mostly be sold in American "health food" stores. Due to the fact that tofu is part of Japanese cuisine, my J family loves them some tofu burgers and soy milk. It's also cheap food and considered to be low fat and "healthy." Hubs is brainwashed to believe meat is unhealthy, so even though he happily scarfs up beef, he gets to feeling guilty sometimes and nags me to buy tofu. I haven't told him yet that Japanese housewives feed their husbands tofu when they want to decrease their man's libido.

I accidentally order an impossible burger, rarely eat at Burger king. It was carry out got home started eating thinking what was wrong with this burger, flavor, taste, texture just didn't taste the same, thought it was the worst burger I ever eat. Looked at my receipt and realized the mistake and remember the girl saying "have a good day hope you enjoy it" not realizing what she was really saying. I'll eat road kill before eating that again. That was an honest taste test like being blind folded. But honestly if your Hungry enough you'll eat almost anything.
Yeah, I bought one of those BK soy burgers for tofu loving Japanese husband. He didn't like it. He also picked up a bag of fake soy sausages by mistake one time. Didn't like those, either. I think it is safe to say that fake meat soy products are mainly for vegans/vegetarians. Japanese people like real tofu, not the fake meat soy products.

Yep..just bought 1/4 cow from a friend who raises them. Yes they are having a hard time getting cattle to slaughter as the entire meat industry is intentionally being halted. Find a farmer friend from church who will sell ground beef and steaks to friends. Yes this is somewhat black market but it’s what they are driving us to. Support your friends/farmers and buy your meat direct from them.

The selection of vegetarian 'meat' in stores where I live is quite limited, but never the less there is always a good selection of it in the 'half off, due to date' fridge at any store....

You know that there are a lot of farms you can but 1/4, 1/2, or even an entire cow. A 1/4 cow yields a LOT of meat and the price's are much better buying from the farm also the meat quality is much better.

I had beyond meat. When you cook something that you know is not actually real. And it mimics the real thing down to the “juices” go from red to clear as you cook it, something is horribly wrong and over processed to do it. It’s just so unnatural. They also don’t taste as great as the real thing. If I want a veggie burger I’ll just eat my bean Pattie’s.
