When the South was liberated from slavery, many slaves didn't want to leave the plantations at first.

If you were a slave family who just got freed, you can stay where you are, where you have a house, a garden, food, you know the local area. You know what work is needed and how to do it. You may have elderly who can barely walk, or several toddlers who you want to keep safe. You are uneducated and were forbidden to learn to read or write. The system kept you dumb and ignorant of anything except your job and the local area around the plantation. Maybe you have some family members that were sold off a couple years ago.

If you leave you have no where to go. No job, no money, no food, and you hear stories about how former slaves are being murdered or abused or are starving with no work.

What would you do?

You would probably do what many others did. Young adults might strike out and embrace freedom, take to the road and seek out a better life. Everyone else would hope that a brother or cousin would come back someday and bring you out, but for now, leaving is the greater danger.

Take this in the same context. People have been indoctrinated into the system. For some of us, walking away from the slave system and embracing freedom is perfectly natural. For others, it's a frightening new world.

They will just have the Supreme court vote on it when they have enough votes and if they shoot it down then they will wait till a new justice takes a seat and vote on it again and make it legal. I bet if the Democrats could, they would pack the court and remove the 1st amendment because it hurts peoples feelings so it isn't safe.

After 70s even though Soviet citizens didn't have luxuries but neither were they enslaved to their Central bank. For example, after 1991 Ukraine standard of living dropped precipitously.

People who remember these times are the ones who want to go back to Soviet days but they still don't prefer communism. It was a necessary evil.

Same with the Israelites when they were leaving Egypt in Exodus 16

Just so everyone understands, there were slave-owning Union states: Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri. Saint Lincoln only demonized the CSA. Political virtue-signaling bullshit from a political piece of bullshit. Lincoln was cabal. Edit: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VwTJMneBTm8

You are wrong. Lincoln did not want to free the slaves. He actually wanted to ship them all over to Africa. He only signed the Emancipation Proclamation to punish Southern states. If his point was to free the slaves, he wouldn't have excepted Norfolk, New Orleans, and some other places. Read the Proclamation for yourself. I have yet to talk to a single black person who has read it and knows about the exceptions.

Indeed. The fugitive slave clause is largely overlooked in history lessons. They never ask why Lincoln vowed to protect slavery for all-time, or how he came to the conclusion that an anti-slavery platform would get him re-elected. The devil's in the details.

– Callmejuls 1 point 3 years ago +1 / -0

Well, I heave learned that other leaders before him kidnapped many Indians and shipped them around the world to take their land. I have wondered if my Great Grandmother who was born in Luxembourg but appeared like Souix or Blackfoot was a descendent of one of these.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– Insignificant 2 points 3 years ago +2 / -0

Yeah, but only after he promised to protect slavery for all-time in his Inaugural Address. The Emancipation Proclamation was Lincoln's "last card" that was played after the Union had lost several major battles in the early stages of the war. His pro-tariff platform evaporated in less than two years after being elected. There is much more to that history lesson than is ever taught in school.

Why do you think they only focus on the Lincoln/Douglass debates? It's because slavery is made the issue while they were in a state that cared about that. I dare anyone to look into Lincoln's other speeches that took place in states that cared more about a railroad being built than slavery. The truth is that we humans tend to generalize about many things, and it causes us to believe a distorted reality that clever historians have put together.

Other states had slave owners. Just look at federal census records before 1850. You will see columns for numbers of slaves in a number of northern states.

– Insignificant 2 points 3 years ago +2 / -0

And this is probably why the Underground Railroad ended in Canada, not New York. Had any slaves been caught in Union territory, they would be shipped back to their owners at the expense of the taxpayer. Lincoln made this very clear in his Inaugural Address. "I have no purpose, directly or indirectly, to interfere with the institution of slavery in the States where it exists. I believe I have no lawful right to do so, and I have no inclination to do so."

The main motive for war is found in that same speech. He said "The power confided to me will be used to hold, occupy, and possess the property and places belonging to the Government and to collect the duties and imposts; but beyond what may be necessary for these objects, there will be no invasion, no using of force against or among the people anywhere." This is what scared Southerners the most. Now we know why Lincoln gave the order to fire on Fort Sumter to start the war. After all, that fort protected the customs house that collected a large portion of tax revenue for the Union to ultimately distribute unevenly amongst the states. It really does come down to money in the end.

I saved this from a couple years back. Also today where is the bible belt? In the North or the South?

The war between the States / U.S. Civil War / The War of Northern Aggression! There were two countries involved in that war that held slaves! The Confederate States of America and the United States of America! The North held slaves the entire war! The slave owning states in the North were : Missouri , Kentucky, Maryland, and Delaware. The Emancipation Proclamation of 1863 freed all the slaves in territories in rebellion. That means that when the Confederacy surrendered and the war ended on April 9, 1865. All of the slaves in the South were legely free. Ironically the slaves in the Northern States would not be freed until the ratification of the 13th Amendment on December 6, 1865. (That was 7 months and 30 days after the war ended!) The last country in North America to have slavery was the United States of America! (NOT THE CONFEDERACY!) Slavery was for 4 years under the Confederacy! Slavery was for 89 years under the United States of America! The real slave Flag was RED , White, and Blue with 13 red and white stripes! Real history your grade school teacher never taught!

My ancestor saw what was coming and sold his slaves before the war. He didn't want to be the one to turn them out into the world with nothing. A lot of slaves stayed in the area and did the same work they always did. I know of one who was a midwife until the very early 1900s. Others worked in factories, at least until they saved enough money to buy some land or to move up north. We were never enemies like the TV says. Everyone worked together, ate together, wore the same kind of clothes, etc.

Here's a classic photo illustrating how blacks were doing in the 1930s. This is a government photo taken by Dorothea Lange. The store burned down recently, but I went there and took a lot of photos just before that.

Agree. I’m in Ireland - our vaccination rates are >95% in adults, 92% of over 12-year-olds, our government is cheerleading Zelensky & wringing their hands that all we’re doing is sending millions of euros in funding / donations & taking committing to taking in 200,000 refugees.

4-5% of our population.

After a few centuries of colonisation, famines (genocide) & emigration, most of those left on the island are either complicit or complacent. Those with any genes for get up & go got up & left.

Wonder if I’m any better sometimes - only woke up 5-6 years ago & while I’d love to reform my own field/profession, politics & activism are something I have no experience in, was working crazy hours & I think most parties & NGOs are pretty controlled. Plus my head is wrecked… pretty much all my family & friends took the jab.

20 years, you say? That's about when the Matrix movies came out. I knew when I saw it that it was reality disguised as science fiction. Even Keanu Reeves pretty much said the same. Interesting that now we are in a massive psy-op, another Matrix movie came out. My family believes every single lie spouted by the MSM. They constantly watch fake "news." Every morning I watched them get up and before doing anything, they flipped on the TV news and kept the box going all day. If they weren't watching news, they watched some idiot shows. As 9/11 unraveled, I began having the ability to see through the matrix and realized the MSM is all a tool for the controllers. Whatever they say, pretty much the opposite is what is actually true.

Both. I was traveling outside the US when it happened. The same day, everyone (non-Americans) eating together said, "musta been an inside job." A journalist on vacation came to our table the next day and told us there was short selling of the airlines stocks, implying advance knowledge. He also said it takes years to plan such an operation. So the official narrative actually began to unravel right away. However, more bits and pieces of the true story leaked out over time. It was the Satanic controllers doing what they usually do. If you figure out who they are, everything starts to fall into place. The cover stories are always too stupid to be believed, but TV watchers believe them anyway. You have to sift through alt media digging through disinfo to find the threads of reality. Realizing that JFK was not killed the way they said was probably my first red pill. I'm not very street wise, so I don't know how it is I began being able to spot the lies.

That there was more than one shooter that assassinated JFK?

As for 9/11, man, it hurt me emotionally to accept that it was inside job last year.

In an airplane with at least 200 people, how can a few saracens with box cutters take over? People go ape shit when some crazy person tries in vain to open the door while flying, even though it's designed to not do that. Yet they want us to believe the story about a few towel heads. Plus the lack of debris at all 3 sites, and "dustification" of both towers, and tower 7 collapsing for no reason, and all 3 of those buildings falling into their own footprint.

The amount of evil shit that has gone on is sickening.

Oswald said himself that he was a patsy. There exists a photo that looks like Oswald standing in front of the Texas Schoolbook Depository during the motorcade. The supposed murder weapon was a really lousy rifle. Even expert marksmen could not get it to do what they said Oswald did. Dealey Plaza was the site of the first Masonic temple of Texas. JFK's death was a ritual murder called "the killing of the king." He started printing non-Fed silver certificates, he threatened to break up the CIA, he was going to get out of Nam, he was against Israel obtaining nukes. These actions sealed his death certificate. Secret Service were ordered to stand down that day, and the car was re-routed past the TSD, making an overwide turn that slowed the limo way down, so as to make the kill shot easier. Wide turns are forbidden for the SS guarding the Presidential limo. This was a conspiracy at the highest levels. CIA invented the term "conspiracy theory" when people started questioning the official narrative.

Some members of our own gov were involved in 9-11, along with foreign agents, but they want you to think Osama bin Laden did it orchestrated from caves in Afghanistan. And the supposed Saudi hijackers had no clue how to fly passenger jets. The cell phone calls were all faked, everything. There were live drills going on at the same time, so people who were not in the know could not respond to the situation as it unfolded. Cheney was in the WH bunker directing operations. My sister screamed at me that I am a GD conspiracy theorist when I told her these things. This is why you cannot successfully tell people the truth.

Words like “self-confidence,” “self-reliance,” “initiative,” “enterprise," “optimism,” etc., play little role in the liberal and leftist vocabulary. The leftist is anti-individualistic, pro-collectivist. He wants society to solve everyone’s problems for them, satisfy everyone’s needs for them, take care of them. He is not the sort of person who has an inner sense of confidence in his ability to solve his own problems and satisfy his own needs. The leftist is antagonistic to the concept of competition because, deep inside, he feels like a loser.

How to escape the tax man? There’s got to be a way. We shouldn’t be paying taxes, we should be cashing dividend checks. It’s going to take a major realignment to original constitutional function of federal government. Who would we trust to do that? Ted Cruz? /s

The most common form of slavery is without a doubt, debt slavery in nearly every possible aspect. Businesses like Walmart profit around 130 billion each year but yet Walmart and seemingly every other business still choose to seek insane amounts of profit on items we are ripped off on by being the consumer. I have seen proof that Walmart sometimes profits in excess of 2,000% off of items sold.

If you go to a used car lot and buy a car for $12,000 with a down payment of $3,000, it is very likely that the used car lot spent less than $3,000 in obtaining the car. This is a fairly common practice with them. I can only imagine how much excess profit dealerships make off of brand new cars.

It can be argued that businesses need profit to pay their bills, employees, etc but when there are items being sold in the range of 2,000% profit then maybe there should be some sort of restriction of the allowed percentage of profit on items sold. Years ago I looked up some shipping invoices from Walmart by using the stickers on the box from where it was exported and that's when things got interesting yet infuriating.

It was probably 6 or 7 years ago maybe, a 32in TV being sold for $169 was part of a shipment of many of the same TV model where Walmart paid a little over $9 per TV. The place that made the TV only charged a little over $9 per TV but then by time it got to the store shelves it was $169 plus the endless government tax theft.

I understand how it all works because in my 20s I worked in a ship yard, I worked in a warehouse that did importing and exporting, I've worked in a distribution center warehouse as well. There is cost involved in getting a shipment from the shipyards then having it delivered to a distribution center which then delivers it to local stores or across the country to other distribution centers which then deliver to local stores but that doesn't even come close to justifying the price hikes seen on store shelves.

Businesses find endless tax loopholes while steadily increasing prices of things. When it comes to a TV, phone, computer, etc, we can at least choose to say hell no but unfortunately unless a person has their own farm at home then they have to accept being ripped off at the supermarket. The various types of slavery have been going on for thousands of years and there doesn't seem to ever be an end in sight.

To ever make changes that benefits everyone would require a large enough portion of the population to join together to fix it and that sadly will never happen because far too many people are simply too selfish to give a shit. We then have government and media constantly trying to keep people against each other as well. It's a fucked up thing but there doesn't seem to be any solution to it in the foreseeable future.

The schools & meda have so injured the kids. Encountering them is frustrating & can be dangerous.They have been taught to hate their elders. Soon the boomers will be gone............there will be only them left and they will probably begin fighting each other and the evil ones will make them true slaves [if they are allowed to live that is}

I used to be against slavery.

Now, I believe slavery can be a good thing.

If a person promises their labor, and someone is willing to take responsibility for all of their needs, why can't they enter into an agreement?

As long as it is voluntary and as long as the rights of the slave are respected I don't see the problem.

Most corporations are already practicing a limited form of this with their employees. Just stop paying them, give them food, clothing and shelter for life, and have a guaranteed workforce.

“Just stop paying them, give them [minimum] food, clothing and shelter for life, and have a guaranteed workforce.” If not voluntary, that’s pretty much Communism.

He didn't free all the slaves. His point was to punish the South. The Emancipation Proclamation had exceptions for Norfolk, New Orleans, and some other places.

The EP only applied to areas where there was rebellion, because the constitutional authority to punish could only be applied to actual rebels and insurrectionists.

Lincoln had zero constitutional authority to punish anyone.

Executive enforces the law, under the direction and command of POTUS. Rebels, insurrectionists and traitors violated the law, the Constitution. Lincoln fulfilled his constitutional duty.

The yankees were the traitors who violated the Constitution. You must be an improperly educated damn yankee. Everything about your post is incorrect.

The yankees violated the Constitution? Prey tell, how so? Did they send slave catchers into other states to violate state laws and kidnap any black person they wanted, to then illegally traffic them into slavery? Did they start illegal wars to expand slave territory? Did they send thousands of slavers and their slaves into soon to be states in order to force a slavery legalizing state constitution? Did they prohibit Republican presidential Electors from being on the ballot in the 1860 election? Did they threaten Republican supporters and keep them from voting? Did they throw a temper tantrum when they lost the 1860 election? Did they illegally attack and seize federal property including post offices, arsenals and forts? Did they depose duly elected state legislatures/assemblies and officials? Did they illegally enter treaties with other states? Did they illegally coin their own currency? Did they engage in acts of war against the lawful federal government? Did they refuse to heed the President's constitutional command to send their militias to enforce the Constitution and suppress an unlawful rebellion? Did they engage in widespread mass violence via acts of war against lawful military forces trying to enforce the Constitution?

Oh, that's right... the slave power rebels did all of these things... most of which BEFORE Lincoln was even inaugurated.

Have you run out of crayons to eat?

You need to read more. The yankees came to the South, killing women and children, and burning down houses and crops. Most troops were defending against these monsters.

Yankee businessmen were pissed because the South was selling goods directly to Europe without using yankee firms or yankee ships. Lincoln needed a pretext that he could sell to ignorant yankee civilians. He, or his people, noticed that not long before that the last of the northern states had done away with slavery (technically, but not in reality). So he told people that the "evil South" had slaves and were wrong.

In actuality, most Southerners never owned slaves. The Constitution limits the powers of the federal government to a very few things. Everything else, absolutely everything else, is to be left to the states and individual people. Slavery was one of those things that was the right of the individual states to decide on. Individual northern states had decided to stop slavery. Individual Southern states would also have stopped slavery by the 1880s because of the economics.

There was no Constitutional purpose in invading the South, and killing innocents and burning down homes and crops to starve others.

Eating blackeyed peas on New Years in the South is in remembrance of the atrocities of the north. The yankees were too stupid to know that blackeyed peas were food for people, not animals, and thus failed to burn down the pea fields. That allowed a lot of Southerners to make it.

General Sherman was fully intending to commit genocide by killing all Southerners, men, women, and children. He should have been hung.

This is actually true. Most people are bred and born to be slaves. To not be a slave is so damn hard. When the germanic tribes were defeated by the romans, only a few stayed free men.

Those men established the Prussian empire. You might not like the Prussians, but it was established by a wicked tough people.

It would later give rise to the Crazy Hitler and his maniacs. Not always good.

I have a neighbor that's a willing slave to his high payed wife. He's a very nice man but literally gets pushed around by his wife. He loves watching football and during the championship games he was hauling laundry to laundry mat. I asked him why the hell you let her do that? Make her do the laundry!
